Ha, you make it sound like i'm not a grown ass man who knows the difference between money and sport money. Seriously, to everyone out there... If you don't have a fully funded retirement account for your age, and 6 months of your cash burn in savings, Don't put your money into speculative investments. But for those of you with those boxes checked, you would be silly not to look around for opportunities to 10x.6 points

Ooh, if we're sharing... This is how a 2 year old plays with trains. Yes, that's an Emerald night (the green train as it calls it). He rotates through the ones in the box daily as well as the carriages. I had a 7937 station out against the wall but started putting in away one night and he asked where his train tunnel went. He calls the dk. blue gray round bricks bombs, because that's what the castle catapult uses, and his whales eat the bull from the 60052. I offered him the box of trains or a brand new train set in storage and he picked the one with all the trains, smart kid. Now that I think about it, I don't know where he put the remote and did you know that rechargeable battery packs are over $100 a piece now! Crazy. Yay LEGO!4 points

So it has been a great day. We are at $11,500.00 in total, with crunch time coming. 16 prizes with at least a value of $500.00 each, looking for new homes...5 days left.2 points

For Cafe Corner and Market Street (& Green Grocer), I found that they can be pretty effectively Bricklinked if you’re willing to make a couple substitutions. For example, on CC I used DBG instead of Dark Blue for the columns & arches - It looks just fine as long as you swap out the remaining dark blue around them. Also, you can get new trans-clear doors with red frames pretty cheap. They look fine in my opinion. On MS, I swapped the white railings for black and the dark blue arches for LBG. And be sure to get the newest parts for things like jumpers which are virtually identical but the new ones are a lot cheaper. I didn’t track my spend separately, but I think they averaged out to around $200/ea including the Minifigs. One other suggestion - Don’t overlook Bricks & Pieces/Pick-A-Brick. For many elements (e.g. tiles & certain colors), they are much cheaper than getting from BrickLink. Just be prepared for a long, long wait. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

The comments from the naysayers and people spewing inaccurate facts on this thread have taught me to just stick to this forum for useful Lego news and rumors. I'm bowing out of this one. Best of luck to those who are invested. Keep those diamond hands strong my friends!! Going to be an exciting summer!!1 point

yes still here, usual quiet time of year. Also waiting to see which sets are confirmed for retiring before spending up again.1 point

I'm amazed. The majority still think btc is a non-governmental thing. The mass seriously think countries, banks & exchanges would allow this to exist 12 years without doing anything. Much naive yes?1 point

add every computer, buildings, HQ, phone center etc etc used by every bank in the world & add them together. its more than bitcoin uses. The End.1 point

Here's my best answer. 1. First governments around the world have a hard time agreeing on anything. It's possible one or two major world governments could freeze accounts but it's probably highly unlikely to happen worldwide in a coordinated effort. Why you might say? The crypto space is a place of major growth. Governments want that growth and they want their currency to be represented (AKA dollars, euro, yuan, etc.). If a government such as the United States froze accounts, all cryptocurrency development would move to other countries and the stable coins like DAI & USDT would all change from Dollar denomination to another currency like the EURO. This would be a big deal as would probably cause the dollar to lose its spot as the global reserve currency. As for the crypto and terrorists transactions...right now that is an overblown media hyped problem. It could be a major problem in the future, but the way most crypto is set up, every transaction is public ledger. So it's very easy to track crypto transfers and catch money laudering. (This is typically done via the onboarding/offboarding platforms, aka when a person moves there fiat money to crypto and vice versa).1 point

It's the perfect time to buy some crypto if you've been on the sidelines waiting for a dip. (Obviously not financial advice). And to all the doubters out there, I recommend dabbling in the space and learning more about it.....it's easy to criticize and condemn what you don't understand. Crypto currency is the future, just like the internet was the future back in 2000. You have to adapt to technological changes. Gone will be the days waiting multiple days for an ACH transfer and over 24 hours for wire transfer.1 point

I've had similar problems with that site. I've found that, when it asks for a Catcha, that you can just enter via walmart.com (no specialized link) and bypass the whole Catcha routine. In other words, if I use my link to go to their grocery side or a certain set, if it trips the Catcha, walmart.com lets me in without having to go through that BS.1 point

Our son, Max, was super excited for school today. SPS fifth grade and preK3 were given a dress-down day for contributing the most LEGO set pieces for the sweepstakes. Some lucky winners are going to be very happy with all the amazing sets that have been donated. As always, thank you so much for your support! Good luck!1 point

Well, I am a bit fanatical about crypto in general. It is the future of finance and currency, no question. The only questions are who (which coins) and how (What types of blockchain, and how they are used), not if.1 point

carter worth has a nice rundown of the history of bitcoin draw downs. it starts around 1:50. in a nutshell there have been 11x drawdowns over 30% since btc began, average drawdown is 55% so we're getting close to average drawdown. he has $29K as the support level (bounce point) which we are pretty close to. https://www.cnbc.com/video/2021/05/17/he-called-the-drop-now-the-chartmaster-says-theres-a-new-key-level-for-bitcoin.html1 point

Had that annual buyer who makes me question why I do this... Sold a mixed lot of City Police & Firemen. Pictures had them all jumbled. Made no claim as to how many complete figures. It's perfect for kids because they can mix & match, etc. What collector would buy a mixed up lot of frankenstein City figures? Well, the buyer was irate because the lot had a few more torsos than pants. So irate he would email a curt sentence. Then minutes later email another. I think he did this 8x. Then he demanded a partial refund. I offered him 15% off and assured him that my listing was not meant to mislead and that kids love to mix up figures. He replied that I needed to give him over 40% off for being 'not cool'. Plus he was a Lego investor and recently got over 72 figures for $60. I suggested he return the item which he did because I would not cough up 40% off. Silver lining...he left me positive feedback days before his diatribe. So in his return comments is a diatribe about how eBay should let him leave bad comments because I am cheating and tricking people. Buyer blocked, my rant is over...1 point

Right after 47.75 ended the in store price went to 49.99. Been picking them until I just got a "contact card issuer" today. Paid off Red Card to zero balance, made first purchase today for 2x TFP's, went to next store for 3x more and "contact card issuer". Hopefully just a glitch or fraud prevention, but had no issues last week . . . Most I've seen in a store is 5 (and two were damaged) and most only have 2 or 3 at most. I know there's more, but I'm not going through the dance to have them look. ah, the good old days . . .1 point

Ok, it may seem hard to believe, since, when I started this topic (in December) we already had a foundation poured. But, it is true, we just got our final inspection on Thursday and have been moving in basically all week. I promised to share progress, so here it is. The first picture of the new Lego area. We have agreed that I have a 9’ x 14’ Area for the city and build desk. The ceilings are just shy of 9 feet. I think I’m gonna pop a time lapse camera up Soon so I can capture The process from raw concrete basement to Finished Lego area.1 point

Sorry to hear everything you’ve been through @ravenb99 and like others said, I really hope you get to the bottom of this soon. Sounds like you’ve had a great team of Drs so far. Might be a silly question, but have you had any tests for vertigo/ear scans yet?1 point

To be fair to people saying goodbye - the forum is nice and all, but it was the Brickfolio that made Brickpicker the go-to site for LEGO investing. Lots of tangible data rather than just another forum where people share opinions. I'm still holding out hope, but even as an ardent supporter of this website - you've got to agree that it's missing a vital piece for much longer than anyone ever thought possible. I'm not going anywhere, but I see why people are frustrated and looking to other sites to support their investing habit.1 point

Yeah they looked into that as well. To me that and sarcoidosis seemed to have to most symptoms that matched other than the viral side. I came in on stroke protocol each time as I couldn't speak coherently but passed all that. Each ER visit started with stroke protocol, heart attack, seizure and of course covid. Apparently I swung at the person that administered the covid test first time. I was completely out of it that trip. Put me on one of the heavy sedatives and I had opposite reaction and made me angrier and apparently tried to take out most the nursing staff. Guess they strapped me to bed and I got my legs out and tried walking out with the hospital bed. Next day was like nothing ever happened. That time they discharged me with acute delirium. Said nothing was wrong with me. Wasn't until 2nd and 3rd time they got deeper in testing and had 6 specialists on the case. The whole thing has been baffling.0 points

Thanks everyone. Yeah nothing has every fully fit a profile. They leaned viral meningitis with a type of seizure at onset of episodes. They only last 24 hours though and then back to normal. The seizure meds did stop those and the extreme headaches went away 3 weeks ago or so. The cd4 staying low though didn't mesh with it being over so something else is still fighting. Had 3 enlarged lymph nodes on lungs that are going to be revisited this week to see if they shrunk to determine if they were reactive of the infection /disease or possible lymphoma. Although everything has gone against that so far too. That's about the last thing we can check. Had every test imaginable and mayo clinic did a panel of auto immune and all were negative. The episodes themselves were scary. Last one I lost sight (didn't know it) and ability to speak in normal language. Apparently I made my own up.0 points
