I'm kinda sick of seeing grown adults reduced to infantile meme arguments all over the internet. Come to think of it, I'm sick of the internet and all people.5 points

One the most awesome things about this community is how we rally to support and offer words of encouragement to one of our own in their time of need. Please stay strong ravenb99 and may you get a diagnosis soon.4 points

They should have ended with Infinity War. Or they could have done Endgame without time travel crap. I do not like time travel stories in general, they tend to leave many plotholes4 points

8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress. This set has been on my want list for a long time and I finally picked one up off eBay a few weeks ago. I've always really liked the Knight's Kingdom era sets, even though this doesn't have the same level of detail as newer sets, it's a big finished product with a nice selection of minifigures. Folding cover box too! Pretty big footprint to fit in with other castle sets3 points

I've been on the hunt for more shelving for my basement warehouse, in the past I was using pre-made wood frames from Menards and half sheets of OSB for the shelves - as cheap as I could go. Last spring I made two 8 foot sections this way for about $130. Just now priced out what that would cost today: $393!!!!! I'd bring it down to $321 if I cut down the OSB sheets myself. Anyway, obviously not about to go that route. I found a guy on FBMarketplace who just moved into a bigger house with built-in shelving selling off "4-5 sets of shelving" for $100. From the picture I can see it's probably more or less nice stuff. So I went and bought it and spent the afternoon sorting it out. Most of it is 4 ft x 2 ft rivet shelving along with some 3' x 18" stuff, plus some cheaper metal tab assembly type. Came with 20 of the larger boards and 10 of the smaller ones, but there are frames enough for 30 of the larger shelves, which... this is a crazy amount of shelving to get for $100. He said he was surprised no one had bought it yet, he looked online and a three pack of these shelves is like $200, I replied, "well, I know that, that's why I'm here". Plus, my wife starts summer break today AND I filed my taxes.3 points

Virginia is lifting it's mask mandate tonight at midnight. I will definitely be making a trip to Walmart tomorrow maskless just because I finally can. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk3 points

I also liked Infinity War more. Endgame was fine, but it really went downhill once they said Back to the Future was BS.3 points

So why do LEGO put the recommended age on the box only to ignore it on their ad materials? The box says 14+, but this kid does not look 14:2 points

Whenever I fall for that FOMO feeling it’s always too late and I get burned ... LEGO, stocks, and likely the same for crypto. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I agree. I subscribe to the idea that there are two ways to do time travel stories. Like Back to the Future or like LOST. In BTTF and Endgame, you time travel and if you change things you’ve got these alternative realities. I love the LOST idea where “whatever happened, happened.” So the Infinity Stones were always taken, they were always returned. Steve travels back to Peggy and HE WAS ALWAYS THERE. So there would have been three different versions of Steve at the Battle of New York (one just older than the other two). None of this reality jumping, alternative timeline crap. ADA is peaking because of what Musk did by dropping Bitcoin as payment to Tesla and embracing proof of stake currency like Cardono. It’s very likely you can double your money by July and likely sooner but ADA has so many coins that that the price would need to reach only $34 to match Bitcoin’s current market cap north of $1 trillion, so I dunno how much growth one can expect. The real time to have bought was in December when it was $.04. Make sure you find a pool to stake your ADA and you should see 5 to 8% growth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Finally got some crypto under my name. The dummy in me hesitated buying at $1.62 and a mere 12 hours later the price went to $2.05. My FOMO got me to lock in at $2 but I should have waited since I had plenty of time to buy afterwards at $1.85. This morning it is $2.27 Lets play 2 games: 1. Guess which currency 2. What's the chance I double my money by July 4th ?1 point

He did until Endgame when he was lectured by Captain Marvel. The writing was so lazy and was so out of character for him to admit Captain Marvel was right. Yes it is a nitpick, but I am not a big fan of Endgame1 point

I would imagine legalities and/or parents complaining/returning due to their kids saying its too hard and/or loosing pieces. I think it was on Amazon where I was reading a review from a parent complaining that this was the fourth Lego set that they have purchased now that is missing pieces -- and their child is so meticulous!1 point

conditioned...? to consider the other people around you when you make decisions? This is one of the most dumbfounding assertions to me... that it is zero sum, that if you understand that a significant amount of people have a somewhat reasonable fear, acting to show that you have considered them when you are walking through the world means that you are a sheeple.1 point

So much to unpack here but I fell off my rocker when he says 'once she get that good good from me' I will definitely be using that on the wifey later Yes people are very strange indeed. From my perspective (medical biology background) @Phil Bis taking the necessary precautions to protect his clan. Its unfortunate he HAS to do this, but like you said, people are strange. As we are all seeing this play out in front of our eyes, the vaccine is no guarantee. Choosing to not get a vaccine or not wear a mask just makes zero sense to me. Someone said it earlier, what a crazy hill to die on. I get it, we all would like to move on with our lives. The people who choose to act recklessly, are only making this last longer for the rest of us.1 point

I felt the CDC's announcement yesterday was premature. In any case, we'll still be wearing masks wherever we go like we've always been unless we know for sure the people we are hanging out with are vaccinated. We've come this far, and I'm not taking any unnecessary chances yet. My 13yo daughter is going to get her first shot on Sunday, and we're hoping our 8yo son can be eligible to get his soon.1 point
