I’ll start the May the 4th Be With You 2021 thread. Rumor has it Amazon will discount the Razor Crest. https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-day-deals?fbclid=IwAR1ganuOiWl72E4cAQtZQpdLcy_GexqT8-TL46l1GpLHgDm9BWYfYwHbJp46 points

People on east & west coasts with tons of food options may not care for this. But this is a great option if like me, your nearest ramen restaurant is closed permanently and you refuse to drive 1 hour each way to get below average ramen served by rude millennials: In Costco's frozen section for $17 / pack of 6 bowls Ajinomoto Shoyo Ramen, with Chicken, Tokyo Style5 points

Being Asian, instant ramen is almost like its own food group growing up and an entree type in college... I typically go w/ Shin Ramen automatically The "black" is about $1 more, but worth it IMO, has the extra "bone marrow" powder. Also I am amazed at how good instant ramen noodles are. If you know what you're doing you can achieve a very similar gumminess texture like the Ramen restaurants...I bet I could whip up a bowl using instant ramen noodles and left overs in my fridge that will blow away many $16/bowl places.4 points

Many years ago I was traveling in Korea had too much spicy food and just wanted to take it easy on the spiciness for a meal. I told the waiter who was prepping the food to put less spice. He looked at me, said no and proceeded to empty all the chili powder into the food. Nowadays I've also cut down on spicy stuff, it's still nice to eat on a cold winter day though. Or maybe I should just do a cheese fondue instead....3 points

Rather than cracking a raw egg and stirring it in with the noodles, I prefer a poached egg with my instant ramen. Found out online how to do it in a microwave. Get a cup. Fill it with 1/2 cup of water. Crack the egg into it. Place in microwave and cover with a plate. Microwave for about 1 minute (I play around with the time depending on the size of the egg), and voila, poached egg. Oh, and yes, the Shin Black Instant Ramen is bomb. They also come in a cup like Cup o' Noodles that Costco sells in an eight-pack for $10. The noodles that come in the cup aren't as thick as the one that comes in the package but the broth is very tasty, and I don't have to wash a pot.2 points

The Shin noodles are spicy enough if you add the entire spice pack. Now the Samyang 2X Spicy that @exciter1 posted about. Those are uber-spicy. I remember those being used in the Spicy instant noodle challenge. I tried one once, and while I like spicy, it was a bit much for me and messed with my stomach a bit.1 point

I am lazy so I just crack the egg and drop it in the middle of instant ramen. If you do it at the right time, the ramen becomes a "nest" for the egg while it is cooked1 point

Every morning my wife asks how our imaginary investments are looking. That how she refers to the crypto market and I'm not sure she's too far off. Also, anyone here using bots for their crypto trading? Any recommendations?1 point

They're a drop shipper (probably on Amazon) so that's why they don't want you to include the packing slip. I usually throw one in and thank them for buying from Ebay!1 point

You aren't being scammed. Someone else was. There are several different things that could have happened. 1) Stolen credit card info 2) Stolen credit cards to buy Target gift cards 3) One of the many scams (Give me 'insert gift card' to clear this warrant, get your kid out of jail, stop the IRS from collecting) that old people fall for, all the time1 point

Basically, yes. Some nerds & pseudo-experts will say it's about technology & stuff, this is the future bla bla bla... it's not. It's about pumping coins & then dumping them on somebody else for more money. That's it. The whole market is driven by the idea to make big money relatively easy. Everybody is in for one thing: $$$. The question is: which idiot will hold the ponzibag at last? Spoiler alert: Probably all of us, because we allow the system to quietly eliminate cash & therefore our freedom. Somebody wants us to accept digital currencies & this is their test run, their bait & most people took it. Total control & transparency. Forget the 'btc is totally anonymous'-bs. It's all bs, no digital currency is anonymous, only pseudonymous. Government can always identify you through exchanges or even the system itself, the blockchain saves every transaction with your specific wallet adress attached to it. Plus nobody knows who created Bitcoin, for all we know it could be the government itself. Unfortunately nobody seems to care, nobody seems to notice, people only think about the risk that they could lose their money with an investment. But losing their freedom is not an issue to worry about... Critical thinking? Negative!1 point

To me the ones in bigger packages are better. The smaller packages are hit or miss. I am not a big fan of Taiwan style (thinner noodles) or Singapore style (curry flavored), but I am sure fans of these will disagree If you like spicy, the Shin Ramyun is pretty good and easy to find. I have seen it at some Walmarts https://www.amazon.com/Nongshim-Gourmet-Picante-4-2-Ounce-Packages/dp/B000LQORDE Neoguri for spicy seafood flavor: https://www.amazon.com/NongShim-Neoguri-Noodles-Spicy-Seafood/dp/B00E9OWX0I Costco actually carry this Tonkotsu ramen which is not bad, but I rather pay $5 more for the better frozen kind https://www.costco.com/nongshim-tonkotsu-ramen-bowl%2C-3.56-oz%2C-6-count.product.100644452.html1 point

Anyone else remember when you'd have to write a check, send it off, and wait three weeks for your item to get mailed to you?1 point

I do not know if they are that smart. I bet the main reason is the amount of stress on their websites having 2 popular promos/events at the same time. Their 2 IT interns were only trained to reboot 1 thing at a time: either the store or VIP page. Heavens help them if both pages are down at the same time.1 point

Not my listing, but if anyone needs a sticker for their BL-ed version of the Ulysses, this seller has them for sale for $7.50 (though I managed to hassle him down a whole $0.25 using his "Make an offer" feature *sigh* https://www.ebay.com/itm/3245940345991 point

Got my Ulysses with the Discovery Shuttle and Space Coin today shipped with the Roller Coaster. Ulysses in excellent shape, but I'm also not far from Romeoville. I'm a little disappointed that they didn't arrive yesterday along with my order from Kohl's of Police Station and Bookshop modulars, just because it would have been a fun load of massive boxes. The modulars from Kohl's arrived in large but not quite large enough boxes. Bookshop got a little squished into it's box, but Police Station was fine. I took advantage of a Honey deal I saw posted on Reddit, getting something like 20% back in Honey gold (redeemable to PayPal) on the sets from Lego plus double VIP and credit card rewards so a real no brainer.1 point

Let's not pretend they did it for the community or the fans. Releasing the coin after the May 4th promo guarantees them that each coin code is used on another order and not combined with the May 4th promo. It also generates extra hype at a different time.0 points
