Remember the good ol' days when a Brickset link didn't fill up 3/4 of your screen with ads and rubbish? Those were good times.5 points

I did that survey. I said I wanted more super limited sets that would sell out in minutes. Not sure I would mention selling on ebay. Banhammer bait.5 points

Saw this lot posted on OfferUp for $100, that Triceratops is from the recently retired JW set - it's going for $30 on it's own on Bricklink, so I went for it. Haven't fully uncrated it yet, but it's definitely got an HP Great Hall, a Garma Mecha Man, and a 75218 X-wing with Biggs. So, a good buy!3 points

after my 2nd dose of Pfizer, I was fine, except.... for 2 hours of the most massive headache I have had in a while... I am usually a push through type of guy...(small biz, no phoning it in) but after 15 minutes it was either lay down or fall down. Then, after the 2 Advil kicked in, I was fine.2 points

There's an older castle set in there based on the manual. But the real question is what is going on with that high chair? Looks like the kid had it's last meal in it before graduating to a normal chair, and the parents left the scraps on it as a memory.2 points

A wise person once told me to buy what I know. So I looked around my office (which was filled with Apple computers) so I bought AAPL stock (before the iPod existed). I still own it. That was fantastic advice. Fingers crossed as AAPL has earnings after bell close today.2 points

After careful consideration, I think it's this one. I always wanted this one, but never had it. Also looks like the hull of a pirate/imperial ship in there.1 point

One nice thing about working on a government computer, the spam filters are amazing, and it just loads the content I care about. On my phone or personal computer...holy hell it's a nightmare. It's like playing whackamole with all the popups and nonsense.1 point

In the past, POS scammers would open new ebay & paypal accounts, sell a bunch of phantom stocks, take the cash out of Paypal account, and run before buyers, eBay, & Paypal figured out what's going on. The fake tracking #s bought them a few days to escape. Paypal (meaning the rest of users) would end up covering the refund to buyers. Not sure if this is possible with Managed Payment since it ties the eBay account to a bank account, but I am sure the POS scammers would figure out a way For regular sellers, maybe they already had too many late delivery and/or item cancelation strikes and tried to avoid another one? I can't think of why this would be better than canceling the order outright1 point

Yeah, Looks like they just scanned the sticker and tiled them up on a laser printer sticker stock. Printing 20 or so of them per 8.5 x 11 sticker page. That's an amazing ROI on a $.75 sticker page at about $150 per page in value (minus shipping costs). They could at least have re-typeset it using design software to make the type clean and then given the background a rich CMYK black instead of that faded dark grey/black-ish. But good on them for making the effort to offer this as an option to others willing to pay a few bucks for the sticker.1 point

Yeah. Now that you say it. I should have known CCC (CamelCamelCamel for anyone new here). I wasn't aware about the others. But thanks for not ripping me on those1 point

Exactly. And as $20 on Joe vs Dan said in regards to not sleeping well when day trading. With this, I know I won't randomly become rich, but I will at least sleep well at night.1 point

My restock limit is set at 2x my December unit volume from last year. In theory, it seems ok. I can't figure out the best way to see how many units I had on hand before the 4th quarter started last year.1 point

The only thing on my list (IMO) that is limited to a credit scene is The Skrulls/Secret Invasion tie-in, as it relates to WandaVision. Which on reflection, I shouldn't have even brought up, since we knew the Skrulls were still on Earth after Spider-Man: Far From Home. And you're right - maybe because I have a background in the comics (a lot of the plot beats from the MCU come from my wheelhouse of comic reading in the 80s and 90s) - I see/know the potential of where these stories might be headed, to know that they aren't just a throw away. We know that Armor Wars and Secret Invasion are happening. John Walker is clearly not going away (they would have locked him up, not let him go). Yes, there's potential there between US Agent, Val, and Zemo. And we don't know what the plan is, but everything is pointing in a direction for the Thunderbolts to happen. Those are definitely threads that are being left open. Ralph Bohner might be a red herring. But with a film call "The Multiverse of Madness", and Scarlet Witch involved, and Spider-Man having multiverse shenanigans as well, there's a real possibility there that he isn't a red herring. I don't know if you remember, but Marvel came under criticism years ago, with The Mandarin and the Ten Rings (Iron Man 1 and 3). They even made a short to sort of answer the question about Ben Kingsley's character. And where are we know? Months away from a movie with the "real" Mandarin as the antagonist, and his organization - the organization that is, to a degree, responsible for the creation of the Avengers! I understand the skepticism, especially if you were a fan of the Netflix series, or Agents of Shield. Those didn't pay out (unless you believe the rumors that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Punisher, and Kingpin are coming over). Thank for posting those, because I completely missed them, and they are 100% on target. Bucky's journey alone was incredible to watch.1 point

just wanted to throw this back up and thanks again to EXRACER327. As far as a great conservative place to park $ and get a solid return...I tried it and got basically 7.8% annual yield in monthly installments looking back at the last 4 months. The stock itself happen to have went up by like 20 cents but that's not the reason to buy..just gravy. I know many here would scoff at such laughable gains...but my investment strategy is hyper conservative and compared to bank savings giving 0.1% interest or less and 5 year CDs offering a feeble 1-2%...CIK feels like a gold mine to me.1 point

i'm starting to see a packaging trend with the prints. i ordered 6 prints each with a botanical polybag in the last month, all separate orders (can only redeem one with purchase as you know), and every print has come in a nice BOX. did the same with Ulysses. purchased a botanical and got both in a nice box. not sure if you guys are getting boxes when buying a key chain with VIP gifts? would like to know, i'm up to my teeth in botanicals at this point (still adds a lot of color to my old 80's castle sets though).1 point

These guys actually print them. Australian company though, not sure if they ship international or how much it would cost: https://www.thebigbrick.com/en/home/112-ulysses-space-probe-information-plaque.html However they added some dots down the bottom, apparently to make it easy to 'identify it as a replica'. Not cheap either, but (probably) not outrageous considering it is a print.0 points

Got my 2nd dose of pfizer this morning...have a headache which started pretty shortly after getting it. Hard to focus on work...Will just have to rely on BPer to get me through the day 🥴 The lady doing the observation period was super chatty (she typically forgot to tell people when their time was up); I guess she was talking to all of us (captive audience anyone)...shared a story that she had known an Indian couple who recently moved back to India (after immigrating to US many years ago) to get away from all the US issues...she heard they both died of Covid 2 weeks in.0 points

OK, India's situation is looking very foreboding. They are currently at similar US peak levels (which is the worse in the world) BUT: Just doing the math, US population is 350M and India is 1.3 BILLION, that's 3.7 times the US population US deaths were in the 200K...so simple extrapolation means 742K deaths BUT US, albeit slow to come around, has much better medical infrastructure..India has committed one of the lowest amount of resources to their heath care system among top nations. The best example is the lack of Oxygen there...even at the highest peak in the US, O2 was never considered universally scarce. So my cynical self sees this whole thing getting at best twice as worse to possibly 3 to 5 times worse than US peak. Marshall law in India will occur w/ lots of protests...(incidentally what is the other country that has 1B+ population...how did they fare? hmmm); but the bigger global issues are closed borders and xenophobia of everyone that looks indian. Airlines could start locking down again and there are already travel bans...which will eventually encompass most of Southeast Asia ..and ofcourse the biggest MFer of all this is what kinds of crazy new variants will come out of a million people getting infected every 3 days0 points

I saw this the other day and if you look at the second picture on the listing the sticker does not look good on the tile IMO. The black color of the sticker does not match the tile very well. Maybe it’s just the lighting but it looks faded out.0 points
