  1. Bought a pinball machine today, Williams Space Shuttle (1984). It was during the rain but I tarped it as best I could for the 1.5 hour ride home. Got home and had to label and disconnect about 12 cables and remove the backbox in order to get this thing to the basement but we're rockin' and rollin' now!

  3. Zombie Thread Anyway, I recently found the plastic containers used to package the Costco apples to be excellent sorting trays for LEGO. I've tried all kinds (in my recent project of putting together a used UCS MILF. The biggest issue is edging...most of the compartment containers have straight up walls so trying to pick out a small piece w/ "Man hands" can be at best annoying..at worse, scrape against a hang nail. These apple containers are cheap (garbage) so re-use is eco friendly...they are also clear all around w/ minimal apple labeling...and the best is that they are rounded. Some may find the midway curve between the "bowls" negative, but I see them as a net positive as it offers like-pieces to be grouped. Some even have a large "bowl" in the middle for extra large pieces. They take up a bit more room then the conventional trays...but there's the benefit of them stacking. [update on year old MILF project: we are on page 350-ish and have about a third of the top outer panels placed. A very regretful project and ofcourse I would never again purchase a used set over 3k pieces. The greebling is the worse where it takes 30 minutes of piece searching to finish 1-2 pages of directions. And because there's so many different pieces, I am walking around back bent w/ a flash light over a sea of trays and ziplock bags...IMO; THIS is what LEGO was NEVER mean to to be. And it's a bit of a curse in that my boy and I can't "enjoy" LEGO building of other sets until we get this one done...it's a marathon (we started last May...package came May the 4th: which I thought was Auspicious..but in hindsite...it's the deathstar 2...never finished and doomed Palpatine)

  4. I know it's not remotely the same, but I am strongly considering buying one of the ATGames Legends Pinball machines.

  5. That's because Octan is the big, bad LEGO oil company (Lord Business). LEGO should just take Octan green - Octan solar panels, Octan charging stations, Octan wind generators, etc.

  6. Built these over the last few nights. I'll keep them out for a couple of weeks and then pack them up until my son is ready for them. He's already pretty good at using the catapults and driving the horsies.

  7. This Based on the previous 4, this would be my guess as well.

  8. 90% corrrect isn't bad. But is it enough? You can get more certainty if you at which sets have been extended by a year. For example, one of the oldest sets (New York) has been extended by a year to 31.12.22. I'll give you 99% it won't be reversed back to 2021.

  9. Why would the gold coin require more VIP points? Just trying to understand your thought process is it more limited? The gold coin isn’t made out of real gold is it? Too bad it is not made out of lego since we all know it is better than gold.

  10. just so ppl know, kohls is notorious for using garment bag to ship medium to small lego set, for large set, they typically just slap a label on the box and send it your way. I had some good luck by doing the store pickup tho so if you are keen on the box condition, making a trip to store is the way to go.

  11. Watching my son take his first ice hockey practice as a Squirt (10U). He’s been playing for 4 1/2 years (he just turned 9). I’ve kept him down at the lower level because you’re technically supposed to be 9 to play Squirts. Squirts is when they play a full sheet of ice, and start learning the rules (icing, etc).

  12. It's fascinating. I knew of some of it, but not everything and want to do more research. The US media doesn't do anything other than sensationalize it and politicize it, when there are real effects. It's barely a ripple in Canada. Most important, as it's been noted, is that you can't undo it (yet). I found that the issue currently before the courts in BC has been delicately covered without blatantly picking a side, which I appreciate, but there hasn't been coverage in the underlying reasons for the increase. I suspect in 50-100 years, society will look back with a wtf were they doing.

  13. Since this topic is supposed to be about what we did today. . . I spent a good portion of my day cutting tree roots out of a septic leach field. I’ll let the image of a grown man pulling roots covered in his own crap sit with you for a bit before opining that the activity however disgusting and arguably pointless (since the leach field is likely beyond saving) was still somehow more productive than this thread.

  14. As a retired Amazon seller, I had the exact same impression. Middling and New Guy on the Block selling themselves as the best thing at Amazon. Cherry-picking their "results" that they show and sucking in the new (and some not-quite-so-new) guys into paying money to learn info that a few hours reading books, posts, etc would teach them.

  15. reminds me of trading 'gurus' that runs courses, if you are so good at day trading you would have made way more money than running classes.... but there are plenty that fall for it.
