Picked up a couple weeks ago. Decided since it was close enough to take the drive. Offered asking price as it seemed worth it. Snapped a picture of the listing when I got back home for memories. They provided no pictures, but It was quite the "hull" Overall from the bulk bin the 3 sets were about 98% complete. Sails for the Pearl and Queen Anne were in good shape. The flagship sails looked like they were used as toilet paper... so aftermarket sails are set to arrive tomorrow. Missing pieces already arrived from Bricklink. Manual missing for the flagship but the other two sets are there. Had this been 15 minutes further I probably would have waited for pictures and ended up in a bidding war.9 points

https://www.theguardian.com/notesandqueries/query/0,5753,-6994,00.html What is the most statistically improbable coincidence that has ever been officially verified and how improbable was it? These journalists wrote this long article, scientists spent hours, days, weeks, months researching & calculating the most improbable event... and didn't even find a concrete answer! If they only knew our community could have given them the answer in 2 seconds...3 points

This set was extremely limited in UK, think it sold out in under 1 day on SAH. It is still selling for approx £45 on eBay UK. There's seems to be a huge difference in supply numbers for North america and UK/EU. For North america members, it might be worth to sell a joblot to UK / EU buyers, as this will remain a good seller here.1 point

I've sold off hundreds of units of a single item at a loss. If you let your money/inventory sit there at Amazon too long, the risk increases for some type of IP/compliance document/false restricted product violation, etc. Losing a few hundred bucks and getting your money back is not a big deal to someone selling 7 or 8 figures worth of toys a year and making tons of cash. It's a risk/reward just like sports betting or diversifying in the stock market. When I speculate on a toy, i'm usually right 90% of the time. I'll admit I probably have at least 1 sale every day for a bad buy I dump at a loss. Then I make a profit on 299 other items that day.1 point

Hmm, what's going on here? https://www.lego.com/en-ch/harry-potter-designer-livestream Update: It's a chat/Q&A with the designers. http://bricksfanz.com/lego-harry-potter-designers-livestream-event/ Doesn't seem to have been widely publicized!1 point

They could also be selling at break even or slight loss for the cash flow. Or becausd it hasn't popped like they had hoped.1 point

They could be buying wholesale from LEGO. If that allowed them to get these in largr quantities at (let's say) 30% off, and they can sell through them fast at a relatively low price, that would be an acceptable business model for many.1 point

Ordered a 80107 Spring Lantern Festival from Legoland New York last week. At the time, it was the only place that had it available, and I had FOMO. Of course, the day after it was handed off to FedEx, it came in stock everywhere. So no promos for me. No VIP points for me. But I have it. Going to pair it up with Temple of Airjitsu at some point.1 point

Three of these sets are by the Old Fishing Store designer and somewhat match that aesthetic. That's going to be hard to say no to for me, as I loved that set. Castle in the Forest seems to have a similar function to the Forestmen Camouflaged Outpost set, and I loved that set growing up. This could get expensive...1 point

Was it limited to 1000 per print worldwide? I know 4 of them were at 1000 and the 5th one was just 500. I'm keeping mine to frame for my son as he loves Winnie and friends.0 points
