My kids are also snoopers. They've even learned to pick the simple locks on some doors. I have a utility type room in my basement that I've been stashing Lego sets in. I'm always quickly sticking them in there and they are just stacked up and leaning from side to side. I really need to organize them. I used to stick them in a plastic bin in the garage however that got full. I don't even remember what all is in that bin anymore. I did recent get a Slave 1 out of it and put it in a better spot though. This morning I was up pretty early and tried to get something out of the utility closet space. By the time I got the door open and started moving things around I could hear my two oldest (7 & 9) running down two flights of stairs to catch me while the door was open so they could get a peek, lol. As for an actual complaint: I hate when people ask "whats you best price". I always reply "whats the most you will pay?"7 points

when it comes to selling a used set...please give the buyer some idea of level of completeness. At a minimum, are all the Minifigures included and an overall assessment of brick conditions: played with, adult owned, display only, etc. Get an idea of value by hunting for the set # and then use bricklink or ebay for valuation The best way is to build the sets and provide pictures. If you don't think it's worth the trouble then loose bricks in good condition is like $7+/lb If you're looking to get the best pricing...then you will need to put in the work to get the above details. Few will pay even close to RRP for a used retired set that is full of uncertainties. A shortcut to the above is to line up all the manuals and/or make a list, take a picture and post it here and see if anyone makes an offer (which will likely be about 50% of the market price at best)1 point

I think people do this because too many people don’t remove their listings. My 8 year is constantly searching for stuff on OfferUp. And he’ll show me something he’s interested in (like a skateboard), and then I point out to him that is was posted 10 months ago (!).1 point

Always difficult to find the larger boxes. Not perfect sizing but pretty good on price: https://www.propackaging.co.uk Otherwise have heard good things about getting custom made boxes here: https://www.ascdirect.co.uk1 point

If they did a UCS version of the Ghost i'd pay crazy amounts for it. Rebels was my favorite Star Wars offshoot by far and if the UCS ghost was like 2/3 the size of the UCS falcon with an interior...mind blown. Hera was an awesome character but I think Sabine was my favorite. She was just a badass!!! Maybe my favorite Lego set is Capt Rex AT-TE - for me it incorporate the fun of lego with the greatness of Star Wars Rebels.1 point

Last few posts in here had me a little worried about the pirate ship I ordered from target that was delivered today. Especially after my recent bad experience with Best Buy. However I'm happy to report that the pirate ship was in an exact fitting box and that box was put inside another larger box with bubble wrap all over. [emoji3060][emoji847]1 point

In case anyone doesn't know yet, you can peel the shipping label off Lego box by using a hair dryer, it doesn't leave much trace (only a bit of glue residue)1 point

It does not matter what you think. The (cancel) mob mentality rules. Just hope that the next thing they cancel is not something you actually enjoy or are passionate about1 point

Downtown Disney at World of Disney annual passholders get 30% off including lego. I was allowed to use my discount on the Disneyland Train and Station 71044. It came out to $248.89 including tax. (I had to ask 2 different supervisors to get the discount, so ymmv) The sale is through March 11th.1 point

I agree. I have a bunch of the store displays. Very cool to look at and to say you have but thats about it.1 point

These are not unique. Ed Mack used to have dozens of these and they are very cool. Some have value but most sell for like $100 because they are soooooo expensive to ship. Best bet is to post on Craigs List (or similar) locally. Good luck and hopefully you get what you want, but you will probably see that most people don’t want to pay much for them.1 point

Few weeks ago I decided to put my small stash of Finch Dallow minifigs in a secure place, it's so secure I could not find it last night. 1k worth of minifigs 'lost', I was sobbing in bed last night... 😪 Maybe it will show up in a few years and be worth even more. 🤑🤑0 points
