  1. I got together with my Dad yesterday for his birthday, and he gave me this from when I was a kid. He specified, "it's not for you to sell, it's to put together with your girls." Box, instructions, and all parts. I spent HOURS playing with this set back in '84/'85.

  2. Turns out it's a much better score than I thought. There are more minifigs than pictured plus many more that need to be pieced together.

  4. Looking over the latest Brickpicker posts, and I see your post (in condensed form) - it ends with: I will not be reading anything else on this thread and blocking Frank, good luck, I hope you... And in my mind, I expected it would read... get the help you need.

  9. I've been trying to find some Minifigs from my kids pile, it's a nightmare. Some of them are worth the effort though, like the figs from the republic gunship and those from the batman space shuttle. Even found some stuff from the medieval village. My back is hurting.

  15. It’s still really popular. My 13 year old wanted the set for Christmas. My wife wants these keychains. A friend in her 40s, who wasn’t into LEGO at all, bought this set because she’s a huge Friends fan. Turns out it was a gateway drug and she’s buying all sorts of LEGO sets now.

  16. Kinda bugs me that the link to the other site is hidden. I cannon mention ************** here or that just happens with links? It seems they really have it as a non mentionable word... Well, it rhymes with brickBconomy.

  17. None of the articles you have linked claim that every set sold by bluebrix is legal and does not infringe upon any copyrights. You are the only one suggesting that. This thread has just gotten dumber and dumber. I will not be reading anything else on this thread and blocking Frank, good luck, I hope you convince everyone else here of whatever point you are trying to make.

  19. Built the latest version of the ice cream truck recently. I like the build, especially the giant ice cream bar on the roof, though I do wonder if the ice cream cost $1 or $100 based on the Green Tile 1 x 2 with Groove with 100 Dollar Bill Money Pattern. Logically it is the latter. It must be awesome ice cream for $100! One comment, avoid the temptation to put the Ice Cream Vendor minifigure on the Dark Bluish Gray Tile 1 x 4 like I did at first immediately behind the serving window so it falls down easily. It goes on the studs two rows behind that window. D’oh! Comparing it to the pizza van, the ice cream truck is much easier to put the minifigure inside the interior due to easier access with the rear window opening being on a side hinge with a wider opening vs. the up/down hinge system on the pizza van and more crowded interior/inherent space constraints. There is always taking off the roof option though I guess for minifigure placement. Final thought, they are both loaded with multiple play features and fit quite well within any city layout.

  20. I’m in the middle of building the Disney Castle. It’s pretty simple and enjoyable, just having time for a bag or two here and there. My 1 year old daughter seems to enjoy seeing the progress each morning... Hoping she will love LEGO herself!

  21. I was listening to a podcast the other day, where they speculating that these streaming services running adverts for their new pickups (e.g. Friends), is turning on the show to a whole new generation. It does seem like LEGO has been stepping up their keychain game lately. And we’ve become such a throw away culture where micro transactions have become a norm, that something with a low price point hits that impulse buy button.

  22. I was thinking more of the keychain thing being a gimmick. I agree that Friends remains popular, but I really don’t get it. It blows my mind to see college kids wearing Friends shirts and watching it on laptops during breaks. The Office I get, but Friends and Seinfeld? One thing to keep in mind is LEGO now has a pattern of keeping popular Ideas sets alive past retirement and if the show has this much staying power I am doubtful that we’ll see a lasting Central Perk retirement.

  24. These are not unique. Ed Mack used to have dozens of these and they are very cool. Some have value but most sell for like $100 because they are soooooo expensive to ship. Best bet is to post on Craigs List (or similar) locally. Good luck and hopefully you get what you want, but you will probably see that most people don’t want to pay much for them.

  25. I think we're all taking too much of a literal view of this! My kids were playing Poe's X Wing vs Mighty Dinosaur yesterday with an assist from friends Mia on her tractor. If the sets look fun I think they will appeal to kids. FYI Mighty Dinosaur won in the end...

  26. Before getting so bent out of shape, that isn't what it means. Not that AZ hasn't slapped shipping labels on boxes before but, that isn't what that statement means. It's discussed ad nauseum in the proper threads and not one devoted to Deals. https://www.brickpicker.com/forums/forum/17-amazoncom/

  27. Yeah, I don't need the feature to come back. I just want access to all the info I put into the feature. Maybe we can get access to the excel document or something similar.

  28. Yes. I think it is located at the bottom of the shipping page when you go to create a label. You can select pay from pending funds or PayPal/bank account.

  40. New bulk, picked this up for $30 on fbm. Had to do some light cleaning and only a few missing pieces nothing critical. MTron sets were very nostalgic. The Unitron sets will most likely go in the personal collection. Star Hawk II 1789 Space Station Zenon 1793 Celestial Forager 6896 Beacon Tracer 6833 Sharks crystal Cave 6190 (missing sub)

  45. Yeah, kinda ridiculous it is still around. They must have made a ton of these. I sold the first one I got for like $108 back when they were still scarce. Could have sold more that I purchased from B&N for $60-$80 but held off thinking the price would go back up once the B&N stock ran dry. Was definitely wrong on that. These are looking like a 2-3 year hold now just to get the $25 each original investment back out.
