Because she's American and there are Americans suffering. They just happen to live in Texas. She has a platform, plenty of followers, and as a politician, can wield it and inform her supporters how to help those in need effectively. One of the rare instances of where social media power can be pushed towards something worthwhile. Why did I give money to TX charities this morning? Because they're fricking suffering and are in desperate need. Why do Americans donate a lot during natural disasters in other states? Because they do what they can when people ask for help across state lines. Some give a lot, some give a little. They do it to feel good about themselves, to help others, to try to find ways to help, to do the right thing, OR a combination of all of the above.7 points

They all talk authoritatively but if you press them you will find its their own conjecture. Who knows . . . The manager I spoke with said they still had a ton of inventory and would probably have it available the rest of the year.3 points

The kiddo wanted to watch more TV after 2 episodes of ninjago so I told him only educational stuff. He said then he'll watch chima since there's animals in it. 😄3 points

Episode 7 answered several questions very nicely and caused a couple more. Do not skip the after credit's scene in Ep. 7.3 points

He could shove an extension cord into the ass of each and every member of congress, including himself. With their bullshitting powers combined they could produce enough juice eliminate the need for power plants. It's like Captain planet, but instead of being powered by good values... it's powered by a bunch of greedy liars who only pretend to care about their constituents during election time.3 points

Ok so now the expectation is for politicians to do above and beyond their governmental duties in these kinds of events. You know what? I like that. Why should we expect them to sit around on their fat asses while people are suffering. Let's be consistent on this though. Everyone should hold the same standard for these politicians no matter if they have R or D or I or anything else behind their names. Can we agree on this?2 points

He could have tried to do more than the socialist he dispises. https://thehill.com/homenews/house/539550-ocasio-cortez-raises-1-million-for-texas-relief-plans-trip-to-houston https://www.businessinsider.com/o-rourke-aoc-focus-on-texas-welfare-efforts-2021-22 points

If only electricity could be generated by spinning BS and lies, then Washington DC would produce evergreen electricity for the whole nation, nay, for THE WORLD.2 points

That’s a little uncalled for. I have worked relief efforts. Even though I’m retired from making maps, I’m still a part of an organization that does volunteer mapping efforts. I just don’t advertise that I do things like that. I pointed out earlier what Ted Cruz could do as a Senator (which btw, he’s failing at that). But I stand by my statement that the Executive Branch of the State of Texas is what needs to be leading this.1 point

You the guy at the company that says "That's not in my job description" when he's asked to help out? Ted Cruz is one of two US Senators in a state with the second largest economy in the country, which also makes it one of the largest in the world. He received over 4 million votes in his last election. His campaigns have raised tens of milliosn of donors over the years. He is one of the GOP's most recognized figures nationally. He has an extensive network of business and political contacts both in Texas and across the country - contacts that are plugged into local communities and can help contribute to relief efforts in myriad ways. As much as I dislike him, all of these facts means that he commands a trememndous amount of respect and influence. Just because he doesn't have any direct control of state resources doesn't mean he is not one of the most powerful people in the state, which he most certainly is. If you don't realize how much money and influence equate to real power in this country, perhaps you need a lesson in common sense. You ever participated in relief efforts after a natural disaster? The need for time, resources, and coordination is indeed limitless - and where there is limitless need there is limitless ways in which anyone can help, let alone a nationally prominent US Senator. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/02/19/what-can-member-congress-do-help-during-an-emergency-anyway/1 point

We kind of skip forward through the credits just to make sure there isn't anything else. This is the first episode that we noticed anything.1 point

Strange in the Target app it’s showing as available to ship for me. Didn’t try ordering so maybe it’s not valid. Shows some local targets still have stock for me. YMMV1 point

LEGOLand New York has the AT-ST for list price. Limit 1 PER ORDER. And, unlike other LEGOLands, free shipping. Shoot, they even had a small GWP (40411.) Also, many sets in stock that are OOS at LEGO Shop at Home. https://shop-newyork.legoland.com/collections/lego®star-wars™/products/lego®-star-wars™-at-st™-raider-from-the-mandalorian-75254 **Edited to add: Free shipping with $100 spent. No tax charged for me (I normally have to pay 10%.)1 point

I can get behind that one. Johnny Cage is a stage name if I ever heard one. True, the actress could be more muscular to better fit the role. For Mortal Kombat 11, Ronda Rousey voiced and modeled for the Sonya Blade character. Plus she has a history between UFC, MMA, and WWE. Now when I think about it she totally could have played the part in this film as well. That was her thing wasn't it. Her most recent outfit redesign is probably the least sexualized and should have been fine for the silver screen compared to Mortal Kombat Deception & 9 being the most risque. I had to re-watch the trailer back to Mileena licking off her Sai and ....her teeth look normal. There appears to be small slits across the sides of her cheeks with maybe details of teeth but isn't she supposed to be part Tarkatan with huge f'n chompers?! That's it! Worst film ever! 0 out of 10! Raijin says "Konnichiwa" with a "Ni hao" from Leigong and wife Dianmu. Also, Big Trouble in Little China? Come on man. You're breaking my balls. Haha.1 point

Just an FYI; spoke with a manager of a LEGO store in the states and he said they are pulling them from the shelves. I trust the guy, but take it how you will.1 point

I got Malcom in the Middle vibes last week. The opening was for sure Office this week, but I think there was a fair amount of Desperate Housewives and Modern Family. Overall, it was a good one. Really looking forward to the finale.1 point

Then go buy it new. Oh, wait, you can't. I'm still amazed when people quote retail prices for things that are no longer available at retail. I'd like to buy a vintage Porsche 911 at MSRP.1 point

I just went through my own list, and here are my stats: 137 different products produced 4 announced, not yet on sale (Goldfish & Fry, Budgie & Chick) 1 cancelled (TRU Geoffrey) 2 NYCC (Boba Fett & Han Solo in Carbonite) 6 rumored (2 Minions, 2 Disney, 2 Harry Potter) 8 SDCC Exclusives, unnumbered (Superman & Wonder Woman, Batman & Joker, Iron Man & Captain America, Black Panther & Doctor Strange) 6 limited edition/store openings (Nonnie - LEGO Factory Inside Tour, Shimao Store Opening, Beijing Store Opening, Cologne Store Opening, Amsterdam Store Opening, Hangzou Store Opening) 1 TRU build-and-take (Wonder Woman) 3 unnumbered retail sets (Go Brick Me, Bride, Groom) Numbers 104-109 have not be used. They are probably the 6 rumored sets above. 6 sets are limited edition (SDCC or NYCC) sets that did get numbers (Supergirl & Martian Manhunter, Spider-Man & Venom, Boba Fett & Han Solo in Carbonite) I'm going to guess they're going on what's in the pipeline that is numbered, and not counting anything else. At least, that's my hope. In which case we've got at least 25 in the pipeline. But actually 31, since 6 of those are not "official" yet (104-109).1 point

Methinks Cole Young goes to Hollywood and calls himself Johnny Cage AFTER he wins the tournament. It is a fantasy movie based on video games. If I want realism I would say Sonya does not have enough muscles to be a convincing fighter and they should have casted one of the MMA ladies like Amanda Nunes or Cris Cyborg. Plus I was thinking Mileena should have worn something more revealing to distract the boys and to make the TEETH! reveal more impactful. Eh, Asian looking Thundergod does not make sense to me since thunder was more the fascination of western mythology (ie. Norse & Greek)1 point

Built the Disney Train Station, just the station which I basically got for free, more on that in a minute. Several issues with the build especially the roof and I was definitely not impressed. I know they are trying to stay true to the original but the stickers, which I did not apply, are plentiful and lacking. I like the mason bricks but using all 1X2 bricks it lacks stability. There are some nice miniature builds of trains and the Disney castle that are neat. Now onto this guy I am quite impressed with you access to new sets and sales, I think I have only seen one other eBay seller get that many new exclusives, hard to find sets and promos so good for you! I just wanted the building to incorporate into my modular display and he was parting out the train so worked for me. Much to my surprise when it arrived all the bags were still sealed and the Minifigures were included So Goofy and Minnie should cover my cost. If you are reading this you should part out the figs. https://www.ebay.com/str/shereensland1 point
