  1. I agree that licensed movie tie-ins drove a lot of sales for these, but there are so many previous characters out there they could do that they do not need to rely on newly released movies. Alex and Zombie minecraft Cinderella (or any other Disney princess not previously done) The rest of the Ghostbusters Emperor Palpatine Queen Amidala Woody and Buzz Obi-Wan Peter Pan and Tinkerbell Spider-Man Looney Tunes (since they have a rumored license agreement for minifigs) Mario and Luigi C3PO and R2D2 James Bond and a villain (Jaws or Oddjob would be my choice) Marge and Bart Simpson I also love your ideas of Robin Hood and Little John and Vision and Scarlett Witch And these are just from stuff that they already have license agreements for. All I am saying is that literally anything would be better for Brickheadz collectors and resellers alike than more dogs, cats and fish.

  2. I feel like we need to learn civics badly in this country. I don’t care what he says - that’s political rhetoric to appeal to his voting base. The reality is - a Congressman is NOT one of the most powerful people in the state. The executive branch of the state is where the responsibility lies.

  3. Because she's American and there are Americans suffering. They just happen to live in Texas. She has a platform, plenty of followers, and as a politician, can wield it and inform her supporters how to help those in need effectively. One of the rare instances of where social media power can be pushed towards something worthwhile. Why did I give money to TX charities this morning? Because they're fricking suffering and are in desperate need. Why do Americans donate a lot during natural disasters in other states? Because they do what they can when people ask for help across state lines. Some give a lot, some give a little. They do it to feel good about themselves, to help others, to try to find ways to help, to do the right thing, OR a combination of all of the above.

  5. And I think the message back when Conner Johnny sends a panicked email to Terminator Support asking them to call the Terminators off will be: "Hello from Skynet Terminator Support. Thank you for contacting Skynet. I see you have a question asking us to call off the Terminator sent to kill you. After further investigation, I see your name is Connor Johnny and that we have sent a Terminator to kill you. We can confirm that we have sent the Terminator to kill you. Due to the proprietary nature of our business, we are not able to provide any further information on this. Were you satisfied with the support provided? "

  7. like bobbleheads...they created a genre that IP creators actually want to be a part of. Maybe the IP holders see Pop as essentially an extension of their own marketing..like little billboards on millions of people's bookshelves.

  8. This was LEGO version of Funko Pops. This is what I think happened (I have no base on this other than my own farts, which is not a good foundation by all means) Way back when LEGO got licenses to make the wave 1 & 2 Bhz. The sales for these were not as good as they hoped so they were going to cancel the entire line after wave 3 (or 4) once they produced all the agreed upon licensed characters. Hence rumors of LEGO cancelling BHz. Then these wave 3 or 4 became popular (Disney characters etc) enough for LEGO to change mind and continue with Bhz. They kept the line going by producing the non-license stuffs like witch and scarecrow while negotiating for new licenses. Then the virus kneecapped the movie industry which disturbed all licensing negotiations. But hey, at least LEGO secured HP license (Hagrid+whatever else) so they had no choice but to continue the line with HP + cute animals. What does it mean for the future? That is not really my specialty

  10. He could shove an extension cord into the ass of each and every member of congress, including himself. With their bullshitting powers combined they could produce enough juice eliminate the need for power plants. It's like Captain planet, but instead of being powered by good values... it's powered by a bunch of greedy liars who only pretend to care about their constituents during election time.

  12. Right? Gosh, nothing like the suspense of a Mars landing. During the descent my 4-y-o daughter lost interest and wanted me to pay attention to her trying to sell me some shapes, "I don't wanna look when you tell me to!" For the record: after the landing was confirmed, I bought a rectangle and a star that I wore as a hat.

  16. I just went through my own list, and here are my stats: 137 different products produced 4 announced, not yet on sale (Goldfish & Fry, Budgie & Chick) 1 cancelled (TRU Geoffrey) 2 NYCC (Boba Fett & Han Solo in Carbonite) 6 rumored (2 Minions, 2 Disney, 2 Harry Potter) 8 SDCC Exclusives, unnumbered (Superman & Wonder Woman, Batman & Joker, Iron Man & Captain America, Black Panther & Doctor Strange) 6 limited edition/store openings (Nonnie - LEGO Factory Inside Tour, Shimao Store Opening, Beijing Store Opening, Cologne Store Opening, Amsterdam Store Opening, Hangzou Store Opening) 1 TRU build-and-take (Wonder Woman) 3 unnumbered retail sets (Go Brick Me, Bride, Groom) Numbers 104-109 have not be used. They are probably the 6 rumored sets above. 6 sets are limited edition (SDCC or NYCC) sets that did get numbers (Supergirl & Martian Manhunter, Spider-Man & Venom, Boba Fett & Han Solo in Carbonite) I'm going to guess they're going on what's in the pipeline that is numbered, and not counting anything else. At least, that's my hope. In which case we've got at least 25 in the pipeline. But actually 31, since 6 of those are not "official" yet (104-109).

  27. I get that LEGO needs to keep some of their line fresh. But this feels like they have ADHD - they can't stay focused on something long enough to build it. Dabble here, dabble there. This could have been the brick alternative to Funko Pops. Having said that, this is what we know: Budgie and Chick are number 124 and 125. The fan vote was about BHz number 150. We don't know if they're counting the SDCC exclusives in their list. I don't have my spreadsheet handy to know the exact count of BHz that have been done, but there are a couple of Disney and Harry Potter ones still planned for this year. So I don't know if this means we should expect another 25, or just a few more.

  30. I think for the most part they got the look of the combatants right in particular Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee) here looks closer to her original iterations (between Elizabeth Malecki & Kerri Hoskins). I'm lost how Kano is a "goodie two shoes" now but they kept the Aussie accent established by Trevor Goddard. It is difficult for anyone to follow in the footsteps of either Christopher Lambert as Raiden or Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung (Tagawa even reprised his role in the most recent Mortal Kombat entry making him pretty much the definitive Shang Tsung). However Tadanobu Asano and Chin Han respectively are both good actors in their own rights. As for the girls from what little was shown, they seem to be wearing apparel that makes a bit more sense for combat. Some of the outfits from the games in the past such as Mortal Kombat 9, Sonya was barely in uniform with a heavy focus on her breasts. In the trailer she is wearing clothes I would expect from personnel with a military background. From what I can gather, Cole Young could be Johnny Cage using a pseudonym to stay under the radar for reasons. Otherwise he's the movie's centrally convenient plot device to bring it all together. Also allegedly Noob Saibot is in their somewhere for some reason to show up in some point at sometime.

  32. While I think you've got a good point, it's not exactly a great year to be doing movie tie-ins and such, which is what drove many of the previous character Brickheadz. I'm hoping for a return to form for this line in the future - or maybe just some deeper cut Disney and Marvel characters. I would love a Robin Hood Fox with Little John Bear or a Vision and Scarlet Witch.

  39. Both Cruz and Cornyn felt it was their place to criticize other states problems and deemed it necessary to elevate Texas' power grid as a clear example for the country. They could have...you know..not said anything publicly like the other 98 senators...so they put themselves up to be scrutinized.

  43. Leaving it up to the government to make sure of your safety in situations like this is probably a mistake no one should make. 99% of the population is woefully unprepared for 48 hours without electricity. There are solutions. Government isn't one of them.
