While avoiding the freezing weather I and my kids did some building last weekend. I rebuilt a an Avengers Quinjet that belongs to one of my boys and ended up getting destroyed a while back. Some duplos my 1.5 & 3.5 year olds played with. A castle my 5yo built. A laser/ dagger my 7yo created. A new star wars set my 9yo built Ninjago nightcrawler that 7yo wanted for the past few months since he first found out about it. He was VERY excited to get it.6 points

Today I built the 76119 Batmobile with my 4 year old daughter. She gets bored of it after the first bag typically, but she had the idea that it needed a garage, I suggested maybe a Batcave, which we built here together from Duplo.3 points

Lol, I did that at riverboat casino playing blackjack one Thanksgiving weekend. Doubled my bet after every loss, still split and doubled down everytime I was supposed to. There was no maximum bet on the $25 table I was playing on. Had to double down on a $1600 bet once, but won that hand. Ended up leaving on Sunday $21k richer. Went back a year later and the $25 tables all had $500 max bets on them haha.3 points

Said it for years. Got thrown under the bus Last year for saying I was buying Vegas & carosel for rrp. Nothing wrong with rrp on certain sets. Just a little less profit margin to play with. to clarify before I’m lynched again “certain sets only”2 points

I've said it before, but it is always worth repeating. Make a point of enjoying these days to their fullest - because they really do go by so fast.2 points

I saw the Wright Bros Flyer 10124 in a lot of about 13 lbs of LEGO and picked it up for about $80. When a larger box arrived I was temporarily confused. I was so excited about the 10124 (with instructions in excellent condition) I completely forgot it was for 13 lbs of LEGO... lol. The flyer is only missing a few pieces (hence the brown and gray wing pieces as well as a few plates and blocks which are evident in the pics) but I'm not done sifting through the 13 lbs of LEGO yet. This thing is delicate. It came apart about five times while building it.2 points

Though not as impressive as those Cantinas, keeping with the star wars theme. I pulled all these from a bulk lot. Have a buyer lined up. Its been fun building these while my wife and I have finished epI&II and on season 2 of clone wars on our goal of watching the entire star wars universe in chronological order as we wait for Book of Boba and Mando3. Would have been an epic find if the Gungan sub had all the minifigs. Also, no mando with the ATST, GO FIGURE! Still an awesome bulk find. -7131 Annakins Podracer -7141 Naboo Fighter -9499 Gungan Sub -75079 Shadow Troopers -75130 AT-DP Microfighter -75186 Darth Vader Transformation -75235 X-Wing Starfighter Trench Run -75254 AT-ST Raider2 points

yeah...that's what they said about wildfires being unprecedented...we just experienced 5th year in a row (and has gotten worse every year). Climate change is real and a "once in a generation" weather event seems to occur every 5 years and a "once a decade" is now the norm annually. I realize nothing it that simple, but the supposed "extremes" seem more and more the "norm" nowadays. Best of luck dealing w/ the current issues...they say electricity prices are sky-rocketing in Texas...is that actual or just headlines?1 point

sorry that you got heavily criticized (but often times it's just 1 or 2 vocal members and not representative of majority); but getting a strong rise after making a comment is the kind of discourse that benefits this community (IMO) ...otherwise we're all in an echo chamber1 point

When I started out my model was to wait until sets were confirmed retired in other regions. At that point they typically were not attainable below MSRP in USA. Thats when I bought and did quite well that way. Nothing wrong at all IMO to buy winners at MSRP. IT's the questionable sets that you want the extra margin of safety discounts provide.1 point

I had that happen before (backordered product comes back into stock but my original order doesn't get fulfilled). Call CS and they should be able to move your order forward.1 point

Agree, they completely drop the ball most of the time in regards to their website, but you call or email about the smallest issue and they totally make up for it.1 point

I sold my Castle one too and expect to sell the few other ones fairly quickly as well. Could they go up even more? Sure, but selling at 5x/6x the cost today is a pretty great return.1 point

Built the Disney Train Station, just the station which I basically got for free, more on that in a minute. Several issues with the build especially the roof and I was definitely not impressed. I know they are trying to stay true to the original but the stickers, which I did not apply, are plentiful and lacking. I like the mason bricks but using all 1X2 bricks it lacks stability. There are some nice miniature builds of trains and the Disney castle that are neat. Now onto this guy I am quite impressed with you access to new sets and sales, I think I have only seen one other eBay seller get that many new exclusives, hard to find sets and promos so good for you! I just wanted the building to incorporate into my modular display and he was parting out the train so worked for me. Much to my surprise when it arrived all the bags were still sealed and the Minifigures were included So Goofy and Minnie should cover my cost. If you are reading this you should part out the figs. https://www.ebay.com/str/shereensland1 point

Someone posted on Nextdoor that they were moving and put a bunch of stuff in their driveway for garbage/donation. They said feel free to come by and take whatever. One of the pics had two skateboards in it, and I wanted to get them for my kids. Got there 25 mins after the post and as I pulled up, I saw some lady grabbing pretty much everything and putting it next to her car. All the stuff wouldn't even fit in her Jetta, but she was selfish about it. Anyways, I saw the skateboards in her car and was bummed out. I decided to look anyway and lucked out on a box of Lego that was sitting under another box that she hadn't seen yet. Woohoo! Take that selfish lady!1 point

New bulk, picked this up for $30 on fbm. Had to do some light cleaning and only a few missing pieces nothing critical. MTron sets were very nostalgic. The Unitron sets will most likely go in the personal collection. Star Hawk II 1789 Space Station Zenon 1793 Celestial Forager 6896 Beacon Tracer 6833 Sharks crystal Cave 6190 (missing sub)1 point

MBS Cantina. They did a really good job at balancing build, display and play features much better than AoH and Cloud City. Only 3 stickers on the cantina itself (these really should have been printed) which I did not apply the rest are used on the vehicles. It is not as repetitive as it may look as they use different elements and/or build techniques for similar aspects instead of just doing X2 in the instructions. I give it 8 out of 10.1 point

Lantern Festival same footprint as Assembly Square. They put a lot of expensive pieces and build techniques that you will never see in the finished product when they could have just used some grey 4x2s and decreased the cost. All printed pieces, some dual sided prints and translucent prints. This is a premium set.1 point

In excitement for the Gardens arriving, built a couple smaller Ninjago sets. Wu's Battle Dragon was my favorite of the 3, I loved the final product. I've missed on discounts for the Skull Sorcerer's dragon so far, I'll hopefully find that one soon. "Thou shall not buy Lego at full retail unless a promo is included"1 point
