"It's a shame he died" was what Cara said, presumably also what she would put in the official report as to why Bill's character never returned to that prison planet3 points

Does anyone else remember the Pedro Pascal tweet from last November, immediately after the election? If I remember right it said: "losers 1865" (confederate flag); "losers 1945" (Nazi flag), "losers 2020" (Republicans). The real irony is Republicans were on the winning side in 1865 (union, technically USA) and 1945 (USA). Recently Pedro had another tweet with a picture comparing a concentration camp to kids behind bars, except the picture with the kids behind bars wasn't even from the USA. It had been cropped from some celebration in another country and the kids were playing. I think Gina has a valid lawsuit against Disney and her talent agency for wrongful termination. If Disney is going to permit Pedro and other people within Lucasfilm to post junk without repercussions, then what right do they have to fire Gina? Now there are people screaming for Pedro to be fired because of his tweets. Seriously, everyone needs to take it down about 10 notches. Maybe we should start a new hashtag, #canceltwitter to save people from themselves because 144 characters is just enough rope to hang yourself with.3 points

I haven’t tried yet, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t. The problem is that I don’t think they will match all of them if you have a cart full, but rather only 1-2. That means if you’re looking for volume it will require many trips with hopefully a different CSR each time. That policy might vary by store though. Time is valuable, so I’d rather just buy them all at once in the self check out and be on my way. When these get re-sold 2-3 years from now that $10 difference won’t really matter in my opinion. To some it might. Others with more experience price matching at Target can probably offer some more insight.2 points

540 pieces so the $50 retail isn’t bad considering a “normal” Disney Star Wars tax should have priced this set around $60. $40 is a good deal in my opinion, as I’ve been buying these up at that price before this news was announced. Now I’m buying from Target at $50 plus red card to cost average them to around $45. Yes, I’m sure some people will find these on some crazy local Walmart clearance for $20-$30, but those opportunities will be few and far between. If you want to acquire volume, now is the time to buy. If you’re only trying to get one for personal use, then wait and hope for the best.2 points

To bring balance to this thread, that 1 vehicle featured in every ep9 trailers is still available on Amazon for MSRP: "They fly now" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PX3XF7J/ *** This is NOT an endorsement to buy anything on Amazon for investment or otherwise ***2 points

nebulon price will never rise until the Undercutter (amazon seller PFT) finally runs out. until then, they set the price with their repricer from hades. they must have thousands. locked in a never ending sub $100 price battle. selling this set for under $100 just seems wrong so have to wait it out. not a surprise to me sdcc wonder woman is in stock. #1 DC comics suck. #2 WW is not as popular as batman or superman. the lingering nature of the supposedly sdcc limited edition stock telegraphs early aftermarket performance. currently selling for $5 over msrp FBA. i have zero. i wouldn't buy any north of $20 because i like to make money quickly and easily. its a very pretty box though. if u bought at msrp and you still have receipt, make the walk of shame and go out and buy a minecraft pirate ship or a couple of end battles instead and see where we're at in a year.2 points

Built the Disney Train Station, just the station which I basically got for free, more on that in a minute. Several issues with the build especially the roof and I was definitely not impressed. I know they are trying to stay true to the original but the stickers, which I did not apply, are plentiful and lacking. I like the mason bricks but using all 1X2 bricks it lacks stability. There are some nice miniature builds of trains and the Disney castle that are neat. Now onto this guy I am quite impressed with you access to new sets and sales, I think I have only seen one other eBay seller get that many new exclusives, hard to find sets and promos so good for you! I just wanted the building to incorporate into my modular display and he was parting out the train so worked for me. Much to my surprise when it arrived all the bags were still sealed and the Minifigures were included So Goofy and Minnie should cover my cost. If you are reading this you should part out the figs. https://www.ebay.com/str/shereensland2 points

It’s a hard limit of three per week I believe. I bought three a couple of days ago and tried to place another order last night but it wouldn’t let me. It should reset once a week has passed from your first order.1 point

He could have used donkeys and elephants if he wanted to focus on political parties or ideologies, the confederacy and swastika were chosen for a specific purpose. Yes I realize he probably didn't create this meme. I read through your link and interpret it to be on point for what Gina is describing. The OUN had a history of anti-Jewish violence and the massacres were carried out by them, some Germans, and local crowds, which may have been motivated by the OUN party. I do think it's foolhardy to do a "deep dive" on a meme posted by anyone especially a celebrity. They're meant to be humorous or make a quick point, even if it's shallow. Doing mental gymnastics to justify these for people we don't know is a waste of time. I'd like to think that both of these actors realize we're a far cry from Nazi Germany.1 point

It never felt like a discount to me. It's been on "discount" almost it's entire lifespan. More like MSRP without the Mandolorian tax, comparing to the previous rogue one AT-ST being $40 MSRP. I think I'm going to wait. #1 bestseller on Amazon is impressive, but maybe Lego will actually discount it for retirement.1 point

Bought a few more at-st today at 20% off. I'm guessing this will be a longer hold for my asking price. It's not on a retiring list yet and it will have a substantial amount of sellers to get through. Still worth it to me.1 point

I was just saying that if you would like to talk about Alternate brands, this thread you created thats the main topic, so do it here. You showed the "low ratings" from the German site, of which correlates to your discussion on the Lego vs Alternative brand. Maybe I should have directed you to the other thread that you created on that same subject. I don't even have the power to ban you and I've stated before I respect your opinion. But in light of this being a forum with specific topics, can you limit your discussion to the right areas?1 point

According to their Q4 earnings today, Disney+ subscriptions is making up for any loss in their other businesses. They posted an unexpected profit and are planning on reinvesting more of the Disney+ cash across all their businesses. I believe the quote was "Disney+ has exceeded our wildest expectations". Of course, this might not have been the case had people been out and about all year. But, it seems they'll make money one way or another.1 point

Someone posted on Nextdoor that they were moving and put a bunch of stuff in their driveway for garbage/donation. They said feel free to come by and take whatever. One of the pics had two skateboards in it, and I wanted to get them for my kids. Got there 25 mins after the post and as I pulled up, I saw some lady grabbing pretty much everything and putting it next to her car. All the stuff wouldn't even fit in her Jetta, but she was selfish about it. Anyways, I saw the skateboards in her car and was bummed out. I decided to look anyway and lucked out on a box of Lego that was sitting under another box that she hadn't seen yet. Woohoo! Take that selfish lady!1 point

I'm originally from Germany but now living in the US and here the legal options to get alternatives to Lego are by far not as good as in Germany. Cobi started to sell their products via Amazon but so far I couldn't find anybody such as Bluebrixx here. I tried to ship Bluebrixx to the US but my package got lost on its way 😞. I think the US market still needs some time to "catch up" with what's going on in Germany.1 point

EU-Based Companies are Cobi (from Poland, produces in EU) that are quite famous for a broad range of warfare models, big historical ships. They i.e. have the Boeing license for brick models. I see them as competitor. Models are very detailed and look great. Brick quality is fine but still not perfect (like Lego), a bit tighter than Lego. They have a lot of custom bricks that are not produced by lego but nice for MOCs. Then there is bluebrixx from Germany. They buy huge amounts of noname china bricks and make their own sets out of it. Target customer group: AFOLs. Models look really great, they have a lot of railway stuff and sell really huge models (1.000 to 12.000 parts) and have own designers employed. They also act as general importer for other Asian brands and are in several lawsuits with TLC. Seems to become the second major player if Lego continues its present strategy. (they make a few million in revenue atm compared to several billion of TLC). Really nice and MOC-friendly: They offer part packs (like 200 pc. technic pin 3 long in BLACK for 6€). There is one big Youtube channel in Germany from a Frankfurt based AFOL that runs a very small Bricks store. His videos have 100.000 to 2,5 Mio views and come at least 3 times a week. He quit his Lego partnership last year and started to sell bricks from other manufacturers, too. He told his viewers that he wants to sell the really good things regardingless who produced them but rejects to sell or present piracy products like bogus bricks. As he is the biggest bricks influencer in Germany he brought a lot of AFOLs to be more open-minded to other manufacturers what might "open" the market for competitors.1 point

Sure. The halving effect is in full swing. (Explanation in attachment) Last cycle there were multiple 30-40% corrections on the way from $200 to $20k. Entirely expected we should correct at any point. One major difference this cycle is it's being led by institutional investment and major corporations converting their treasuries into bitcoin. This may dampen volatility as dips are bought. What was once extremely speculative is now being used as a store of value for major institutions.1 point

Here is a commercial from 1994 for the Space themes, Spyrius and Unitron. Interesting how the presentation doesn't feel to be making Spyrius the bad guys here. Actually the bit of narration in a low tone "The Unitrons are preparing for a secret mission" makes Unitron sound like the vigilantes instead. Course I never exactly did get the "who's who" with LEGO's promos aside from Blacktron was bad, UFO came for a visit, and Insectoids wanted to assimilate everyone for some reason. I don't know, not like it ever made much sense anyway between what was shown on TV, in the catalogues, and the Mania magazine all going in whatever direction they felt like at the moment. I always thought of Spyrius as a 'gray area' team being neither bad nor good. They were space spies basically.1 point
