  2. Not trying to pester you, but if you really want helpful answers you need to provide better details. Simply saying "I was banned, what can I do?" doesn't give people much to go on. And the more people have to keep asking for more info the more people simply loose interest and start talking about the Dickens again. How much were you buying? How often? When were you doing this heavily? How has your recent volume been? Letter? Email? Exact words? We're not a customer service line where we have a scripted set of questions to ask to determine your best course of action. Not trying to be harsh but its a common theme. Better questions/better info = better answers.

  3. My whole reselling journey started with 25 Star wars battle packs that I bought on clearance a long time ago. Since then all of the Lego I have bought and owned since then has been paid with that first sale and the sales that have come from the money earned. My wife is actually thrilled that my hobby pays for itself , allows me to keep adding nice chunks of money to my retirement and I keep giving her spending money. Worked out pretty good for us so far.

  5. The trolling has entered new levels from the reddit army. Members are taking out billboards in multiple cities saying they aren't going to sell $gme no matter what and one of them even hired a plane a flew a banner over Robinhood's HQ.

  7. For anybody wondering, this is not an old thread you just so happen to miss all these years but it has been a long time in the making. Basically any mechanical MOC, great ball contraption, kinetic sculpture, and everything in between can be found here for everyone's convenience. I believe I managed to find mostly everything in the other topics to be separated into here. Anyway as always, have fun and feel free to share whatever cool builds you find or make yourself.

  8. There always seems to be more new folks looking to get rich quick. But that’s ok as long as there are always new great sets. What most folks lack to be successful is: 1) patience. Maybe three years or more. 2) storage. Inexpensive or free preferably. 3) amazon — I lack that channel unfortunately 4) time. Selling takes time — even if you are sitting there by yourself on a Sunday in a previous toys-r-us parking lot that is now a Hobby Lobby store. Buying takes time too if you want to acquire volume at below RRP. 5) capital. I don’t care if Joey the college student has $500 Christmas money from grandma and he wants to try his luck in the lego reseller business. The concern is Joel the retired attorney who has $500K, a large property, a steel storage building on that property, and wants to keep himself busy for the next ten years.

  9. Thank you. I guess I should say, "Likewise." In all seriousness, I never realized the extent of LEGO being used as an investment. I've only lamented that I should have bought XYZ LEGO because now I'd have to pay 2X, 4X, etc. I've only looked at it from a builder's POV. Excited to learn about the different ins-outs to view LEGO in a different way.

  10. Turns out the answer was about 9 months... In other news, used Green Grocers are now selling for over £800, with almost nothing available in the UK. Fairly recently, that represented the going rate for new copies. Prices have gone crazy - it wasn't all that long ago that used sets seemed to be in the £400 - £500 range.

  11. All major bullion dealers (Apmex, JM Bullion, SD Bullion, etc.) have paused the sale of physical silver until the markets open at 1800 EST. Has not happened before they usually just raise the premium to cover if markets open gap up. This is the equivalent of Robinhood not allowing the purchases of GME. Short contract expires 4/30.

  13. I was really confused by the tilt reference too. I figured I was just too old to get it. The only set I can see for sure going from $80 to $240 would be 80104 because they look great and are pretty limited. Seems that most people find out they exist after they retire. That being said this late in the game they were starting to get to be hard to find, even around Christmas time.
