  2. This is definitely has the sparks of a revolution. A lot of the anger hasn't been forgotten with what happened in 2008. It is galling to see how the brokerage firms, hedge funds, and the media are all in on it against the common people. Oh, it's all right if hedge funds short positions and make money on them, driving companies lower and possibly out of business. But when a bunch of normal people band together and cause them to lose billions, WE NEED REGULATION NOW! WAH WAH! Give me a break.

  4. This is one for the business history books. By the way, Robin Hood doesn’t really care for the little guy. Some media outlets are reporting why they put some restrictions in-place. CNBC also reported on the below.

  5. The LEGO creator car series (or the whatever the series names are/will be) has been simply awesome (as a fan). This and the Technic super car line are great for car enthusiast and LEGO fans alike. My only gripe is a general lack of a consistent size ratio, but that probably comes w its own issues.

  13. They were the sacrificial lamb. Does show how scared they are though. Destroying RB in order to save their rear ends is a massive, risky gamble. Especially if they doubled down on shorts in the premarket knowing the restriction was coming. Lots of people just got Robinhood accounts and had opening orders placed and ready for market open. In one move all that momentum destroyed, giving them opportunity to get out or double down. Insanity!

  18. Do you really have to sell this year? People will want them again next year and the year after that... You won't have much luck buying them at RRP next year.

  19. Full Interview (33:14) CNBC & Chamath Palihapitiya 1/27/21 - YouTube Everyone should watch this. Sooner than later as it will be taken down fairly soon. Wanted to add i believe this is one of the most important, honest interviews we've ever seen on the MSM.

  20. I've worked in the Markets for almost 20 years and I and a number of collegues have been simply blown away by whats happened these past few days. This will not end well. And given where we are in the pandemics and markets being near all time highs, we could be on the tipping point of a big correction. It's dot-com bubble all over again. If there's one good thing that might come out of this, would be if they banned naked short selling, which is what the guys at Merlin Capital did to GME. Ethically its just wrong to profit from a company that gets into trouble and putting it into more trouble by driving its share price down, so that its financial position and credit rating plummets, thereby denying that company access to working capital to survive. Something that I have always walked away from when an opportunity has presented itself. And today, David fought back and toppled Goliath. This happen against a background of the Dow and S&P having their biggest daily fall for a number of months. If this turmoil continues and pandemic continues to be out of control, then markets are going to drop, since they don't like certainty. I'm very nervous!

  21. I don't know. I purchased the Fortnite Bus instructions at BrickVault. I don't know how many people told me that they planned on modding the HS Bus to make a Fortnite Bus out of it. Also, for us BrickLink sellers, the part-out is over 4x the reduced price, an extremely good percentage.

  23. To be fair, Held der Steine was purposely trying to harm the LEGO brand in dozens, if not hundreds of videos. Many arguments he made were valid, while others made him look like a total hypocrite. I watched him a lot & in the end I realized he's a man in search of profit, nothing else. Forget the 'morals' he's trying to 'defend'. He is a seller in the end & said he'd rather make a 1000€ selling 2000€ of merchandise rather than making 10% on LEGO's products, sells mugs for 15 or 20€ a piece & cooperates with Amazon, Huawei and other angelic companies. Yeah, right, morals. Unfortunately the majority of his viewers/fanboys blindly accept his perceptions of the world & defend him no matter what. It's ironic, he always brings up LEGO fanboys, when he has the biggest fanboy community on YouTube Germany. Reminds me of a sect. The comments are a display of pure hate on TLG while everyone knows these guys are the ones buying an exclusive on day one. Also he seems to forget what grew his channel, I don't think Cada or Cobi did. He presented LEGO products & he continues to do so. If he wouldn't he'd lose the majority of his subs. Classic hypocrite.

  30. SAME. I had 0% knowledge and now I feel like i know maybe 0.01% about it. Although, Robinhood cutting off all those stocks is pretty bad if I am reading this correctly. How can that even be fair market? Edit Apparently Canadians and others outside the US are still available to buy the stock. This is insane to watch.

  37. what do you envision the endgame to be? Lets say all the shorts give in hypothetically and buy back the stock sending it to 10,000$ a share. Then what? Its a 750$ billion company? We all know this ends terribly. Maybe today, maybe in a week. Get out while you can if you own.

  41. It’s getting harder to find names you can copyright . . . Not sure if it will be a hit but I’m sure LEGO is starting to think long term partnerships with music corporations, likely sponsored deals with artists, in app purchases, etc. These “beat bit” tiles will likely be collectible.

  43. I thought I was hot stuff, getting an original Taj for $40 in my neighborhood. Only to discover 1) the first third was missing, 2) this was two days before the rumors of a new Taj hit, and 3) the new Taj wasn't a rumor anymore two days after that. I do have a bunch of nice white bricks for my winter village, tho.
