Full Interview (33:14) CNBC & Chamath Palihapitiya 1/27/21 - YouTube Everyone should watch this. Sooner than later as it will be taken down fairly soon. Wanted to add i believe this is one of the most important, honest interviews we've ever seen on the MSM.3 points

Walmart is the ONLY big box online reseller that package my orders decently 95% of the time. I am not brave enough to risk cutting off my supply3 points

I think the thing I have enjoyed most are the pundits getting their panties in a bunch over what retail investors are doing while ignoring what got these hedge funds in trouble in the first place.3 points

I know absolutely nothing specific about what you're talking about, but that has never stopped me from offering an opinion before so... If LEGO is going after these people/entities to protect its intellectual property, there are reasons for doing that that have nothing to do with market share. Certain types of IP rights are essentially "defend it or lose it," so if they didn't take action against potential infringers, the very fact of their inaction could be used later to challenge the protectability of the IP. This is one reason that you see huge corporations going after infringers that couldn't possibly be harming their business in any material way. When I was in school, there was a bar in town that decided to name itself after a Star Wars character...that lasted about a week before Lucasarts swooped in to force a nothing-sized bar that no one had ever heard of in a podunk college town to change its name. Is there a way to take legal action against someone in a likeable fashion?2 points

I was reading this article you posted: https://www.wuv.de/marketing/lego_legt_sich_wieder_mit_dem_held_der_steine_an and now I get a better idea what it's about. For people not able to read German, the issue here is that "Held der Steine" in his videos is using the word "LEGO" to describe all interlocking bricks from different brands. Like how in the UK the brand "Hoover" is synonymous with vacuum cleaners. So, using the LEGO brand name as a generic product description. And TLG is taking offense with that, being adamant that the word LEGO can only be used to name actual LEGO brand bricks. And apparently Germans are siding with Held der Steine, against TLG.2 points

Fr29 adds both polys, but you'll only get one when the order goes through, so really you'll only get 3 promos.2 points

Haven’t had a complaint yet about a label and have been doing it myself for years. Ya it take some more time but I give Amazon enough money as it is and don’t want to give them anymore.2 points

These funds are not big banks, Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae, I think it's less likely to have a domino effect. The way I see it this will instead be a transfer of wealth from the ultra rich to the man in the street which is unprecedented. I am quite pleased to see the reddit posts of folks paying off student loans and donating to charities with the money they made.2 points

Agree that these are not mistakes but is the lighthouse really a poor seller? Rather than stock coming in late.1 point

The Hidden Side theme isn't even showing on LEGO.com. I guess it'll be a crap shoot to see how it does eol. Regardless, 60% off and retiring is a hard to beat purchase.1 point

Not really, I think that school bus is a dog. It's $35 on Amazon from a third party seller.1 point

Not always...I had a handful of shipments in the 4Q that I had stickered and that Amazon still managed to get jumbled up. It definitely sucked to have 10 Mia's Camper turn into 10 Big Race Days.1 point

So I accidentally got caught up in all this ****. I had no idea about the Reddit stuff going on with GME. I just saw AMC as a good brand that had been beaten up by pandemic and prob had more upside than downside near term. So yesterday I bought 20K worth of AMC. I sold a couple positions I had in Chinese companies (Alibaba and Xiaomi) to buy the AMC. After thinking about it more I ended up selling 75% of the AMC. I never day trade. This was literally a first for me to buy and sell a stock in the same day. But I kept $5K worth of AMC. I bought at $4.75. Then this morning it has spiked 350% but settled around up 250% by opening bell. I tried to sell at opening bell. But everything was crashing. When I would try to sell all my position in AMC using Charles Schwab it flagged the sell as not possible because the symbol was not valid. WTF? The symbol was AMC. And I had it in my account. So it tried multiple times and of course, eventually it showed up as trading halted....multiple times it went live and then halted again. Eventually I got a trade to go through (I thought) using my mobile schwab app instead of my desktop computer. I tried calling Schwab multiple times and it would put me on hold in a waiting queue and then randomly hang up on me after waiting for 5 minutes. So I called my Schwab rep who I have been working with for 25 years. She called me back and informed me that my trade had indeed been placed at a sell price of $14.75. But they can see my action online from earlier in the day and if the system said the symbol was invalid that was a mistake and they may be able to place the sell order based on what the price was at the time I tried to originally place the sell. Long story was it was a complete **** show. But not complaining about a 200% return in 18 hours. But glad to be out of that one. Too risky and stressful for my old blood. But it certainly is interesting what is going on with these Robinhood and Reddit buyers/sellers.1 point

It wouldn't be a bad idea, undoubtedly at some point in the near future they will make another version of it.1 point

Big corporations with big expensive lawyers only use big expensive hammers. It is easier and/or legally required to strike everyone for every single potential infringement. Think of how Disney is very protective with their characters and logos1 point

the problem is the "itch"...or "come back"...anyone profiting big on GME will be back in the game on the next stock...easy money is just too strong of a siren's call. By all means if one can make the quick bucks and walk away ahead, BRAVO! but human nature says that guy will be back again...and again...getting bolder and taking more risk each time.1 point

Lantern Festival same footprint as Assembly Square. They put a lot of expensive pieces and build techniques that you will never see in the finished product when they could have just used some grey 4x2s and decreased the cost. All printed pieces, some dual sided prints and translucent prints. This is a premium set.1 point

In excitement for the Gardens arriving, built a couple smaller Ninjago sets. Wu's Battle Dragon was my favorite of the 3, I loved the final product. I've missed on discounts for the Skull Sorcerer's dragon so far, I'll hopefully find that one soon. "Thou shall not buy Lego at full retail unless a promo is included"1 point

Do we have CHWY long investors? This company seems to have so much love on social media, CNBC, & a few other outlets. I started researching the company. Glanced over the financial basics & visited the website. Then compared the web site to Amazon. Looked up 5 different products we have for our 5 year 60lb pup. I don’t get it. Amazon (including Subscribe & Save) had the same products for the same cost if not cheaper cheaper. I didn’t compare against Petsmart, Walmart, or Target. Am I wrong to look at Chewy as another single niche retail company without physical stores that will ultimately struggle if acquired or do well enough to be acquired. I keep thinking Zappos, Diapers.com, CD-NOW, pets.com, etc... What do you think?1 point
