  2. Features a tour down the Lego isle at the 8 min mark. Anyone remember taking a slip of paper to buy your favorite NES game?

  3. Mmmm...Member berries I way remember those paper tickets for games redeemed upfront, bought a ton back then. In another touch of nostalgia, I notice how anyone who sees a person filming gets out of the way like they don't want to be filmed. Believe me They DON"T! growing up in those days has been an adjustment to now for sure. When a stranger points their camera (phone) in your direction it can feel like a gun if you don't want to be filmed. HUGE invasion of privacy that people today just don't understand. No respect, no respect. Sure Love those flippin' Boxes. I only ever bought 5 Ninjago master falls from TRU for resale, I left 2 of those v.i.p limo/jet sets because of bad boxes, wish I had grabbed them. RIPTRU(US)

  4. FYI, USPS shipping rates are going up on 1/24. So if you have any labels needing to be created, you might want to do it today. Remember to select today as the ship date (to get the current rates) - if you select Monday you'll pay the higher rates.

  5. I had forgotten about the slips of paper thing, but now I absolutely remember having to do that.

  6. Went to a local LEGO store to get a Bookshop for personal build (first modular for me, at least to keep) and ended up with a couple Lion Dance at 20% as well.

  7. I feel like eBay is more “personal” so (most) buyers are more likely to do the right thing, while on Amazon buyers may feel they are dealing with a gigantic company that is always willing to eat the cost to make them happy (even when in reality is just another person much like eBay)

  8. In excitement for the Gardens arriving, built a couple smaller Ninjago sets. Wu's Battle Dragon was my favorite of the 3, I loved the final product. I've missed on discounts for the Skull Sorcerer's dragon so far, I'll hopefully find that one soon. "Thou shall not buy Lego at full retail unless a promo is included"

  9. Target nearby had 2nd series Mario Character Packs in stock - but you can only order 10 at a time for Drive Up/Pick Up. Placed 2 orders of 10 hoping to complete at least 1 set, but when I checked the bag they dropped in my trunk at the drive-up they had included the shipper with my 20 bags. I just finished smooshing the packs and indeed, they gave me a complete box with 2 sets of all 10 characters. Score!

  13. Payments are no longer instantly available, they disburse daily or weekly depending on your selection. You should be able to see a “Processing” item for the amount of the sale, net of fees, under your Payments section. I am not close to my computer, otherwise I would screenshot how it looks but hopefully you can find it. It usually takes a couple of days for ebay to complete “processing” a transaction before they disburse it to your account.

  14. To be fair, when mine arrived from TLG it looked like it had been sat on by Kladno's resident pie-eating champion.

  16. I can’t believe none of the 40 somethings on this thread have mentioned, mused or asked about the classic space coin. Space. Coin. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw someone buy a whole ice cream cake with a space coin at 31 flavors last night. How / when can I get my hands on that? Anyone? Bueller?

  19. I bought 5x of a Lego set from Amazon. They shipped them in 1 box and all 5 were damaged. I started a return they say to put 4 in 1 box and 1 in another with both shipments are going to the same FC. A SPLIT SHIPMENT on a RETURN to the SAME FC?!?! C'mon man! (credit to ESPN, not to any former or current government employees who appropriated the phrase from ESPN)

  20. Larger stand alones (Treehouse, DB, 1000+ pieces) and he's starting to do MOCs. I've thought of building something like this and putting an edge around it just for building and storage.

  21. I click on a random online article...and as I scroll down I peruse comments...and just noticed that my FB image is on the comments window for me to comment. How? what? why? where? this reminds me of the time my sports forum user name was automatically used on a LEGO resellers forum.

  24. So wait, I can give up my VIP points to get these coins and the case instead of actual lego, but I can only do it in 6 separate transactions? and the total equivalent cost will be ~$60 plus the cost of whatever I have to purchase in order to not pay shipping on each of these transactions? Lego really does have evil geniuses working for them... sign me up!

  25. I've had a great 'beat the system' moment today. I have a used copy of 7676 Republic Gunship in which the skirt for the Asajj Ventress minifigure has been cut and so needs replacing. The cost of the skirt on Bricklink is crazy high, with the cheapest UK price being £18 (while the entire figure can be purchased for ~ £14 plus shipping - not sure why this is lower). Bricklink will tell you that this skirt is only to be found on this figure, either from 7676 or some Comic-Con exclusive. However, I noticed that Asajj Ventress keychains were available for far less, and that these have the skirt on them. I decided to take a risk, and bought one of these keychains for about £3 plus postage. In theory these keychain figures can't be dismantled, but in practice they dismantle quite easily when they are crushed in a vise (so long as you don't want the parts!). I crushed the innocent figure, and can happily report that the skirt survived intact, and was not irreversibly kraggled to either the torso or legs. I have another 7676 where the skirt isn't missing, so I've checked and the skirt is definitely the right part. Saved myself more than £10 there for a single part. Small win, but feels good.

  26. Even if I got the coin the box will end up somewhere obscure and I will have forgotten all about it Fast forward couple of years...in the "What Did You Sell Thread", a BPer mentions selling his coin for $100...and by then I have long forgotten where I put the darn thing. So even if this actually takes off...sadly, it's a lose lose for me. I lost my Hasbro 501st Clone Trooper pack and had to refund $130...basically anything nonLEGO set doesn't "fit" my inventory system. [yes, I know that's pretty lame...but please feel free to shame me further]

  27. Sometimes you just need to break a seal and build something. I had a lone town hall sitting around for a couple of years after retirement and could not find a reasonably priced used one so I just built it. Anyone selling Lego makes enough to lose out on one sale's profit and happiness can't be bought.

  28. Nice little set. Feels like it closer resembles the original Blacksmith shop than the Ideas submission. What it’s lacking is a current Castle theme. It’d be neat to see them release a series of AFOL castle themed sets. Maybe a tavern inn next. Similar piece count. A updated Black Falcon fortress would be amazing.

  32. So now we are officially into 2021 and our 2020 sales sheets are complete, sort of. For those of us that unfortunately used the brickfolio for tracking, can we get some sort of clarification, pretty please? I ask this fully understanding it's probably not issue #1 for the brickpicker team, but some of us are really stuck in a tough spot since this disappeared. I know, hindsight is 20/20, I don't need any "you should have had a separate sheet" crap from the peanut gallery. I do now, but that doesn't help for older purchases. Thanks for all the work on the site, please help those of us unfortunate souls that relied on this function.

  33. I think what some people fail to get is that end of the day Lego is a business. I'm sure the designers would love to create 5000+ piece MOC's using rare colours / moulds etc, but from a business and logistical standpointbthis isn't possible. The bean counters will impose a max set price / piece count / new parts and colours etc / impact of production upon other sets. I still think its amazing that lego even offers an Ideas platform, and that people have a chance to say their idea is now available to buy at every lego shop in the world.

  35. Thanks, just got home from work... tried to chat function and got this... Sorry xxxxx, live support's currently unavailable. It's 6pm EST. So I will try later. It used to be a number for them call you back, can't find that either. It's like they make customer service so hard to reach.
