  1. Sometimes you just need to break a seal and build something. I had a lone town hall sitting around for a couple of years after retirement and could not find a reasonably priced used one so I just built it. Anyone selling Lego makes enough to lose out on one sale's profit and happiness can't be bought.

  2. He is saying that is why Disney doesn't re-release movies from their vault... because they have racial undertones. So, now that Lego "has adopted the Disney model of the vault" if we say previous sets have racial undertones they won't re-release... it was a joke A concise explanation devoid of satire. Civil society has returned. Bravo, sir.

  3. Just sold a Nebulon-B on eBay to an international buyer that just signed up today. But, since its going Global Shipping Program, off it goes.

  4. Pondering whether to buy Ninjago City and City Docks NISB for $900. Local deal so no shipping or tax. Boxes are in good condition (a dented corner and some wear). I'm leaning NO, since I find myself "chasing" relatively recently retired sets that are likely near their ceiling...also there is the risk of a re-release. I already have a used City and I am definitely looking for a used DOcks as well...but I don't break seals so these would be purely investment for resell later...which gets me thinking of what kind of resell scenario it will be. Let's say these appreciate another 30%...just finding a buyer at that price point is tough and full of risks and forget about Ebay. I guess I've talked myself out of it. thanks for listening

  9. My wife sure likes that screen to load the kids pictures on though. We don't need the fridge to work, just the built in screen.

  15. Funny thing about this set and limits. Doing my best to figure out AZ's policy. I ordered my limit when these were $11.99 a week ago. Last night, I was going to order three more, at the $14.99 price, and had no problem adding them to my cart for checkout. I didn't pull the trigger. But today, the price dropped back to $11.99 and the order ban is back in place. BTW, same seller last night and today. I would love to figure out their policy so that it could be used to my/our advantage.

  16. I believe that's the point...pun not intended Once they changed to a point system that is both hard to remember and hard to calculate easily it was a clear show of a strategy to add obstacles at every turn to discourage the typical buyer from ever using points (which will eventually expire)

  19. Package intercepts often don't work and I know it sucks. Try and contact the buyer and work with them if you can. I opened a missing mail refund request with USPS over an package that I mailed on 12/11 on 1/15 and they approved the refund . . . then the package was delivered on 11/17. It's a huge mess.

  20. $120, which is the top end of what they sell for right now. Prices sold are between 80-125. I'm not in a hurry so I'll bump my price on the next one.

  22. It's not that risky. It's not hard to screen out the scammers if your careful. I have had more on amz than ebay.

  23. I have sold quite a few of high value sets on eBay as well over the years and haven’t had an issue yet either. Obviously, every time I do my level of worry is a little higher than for the cheaper sets, but that’s just part of the whole thing. Like you said, I am a super small sample out of the whole universe but more often than not buyers are not scammers.

  24. Finished up 7316 Excavation searcher and 7314 recon mech w/instructions. Only one or 2 pieces missing from both nothing major. Not bad for 20 year old sets. These will be passed along to another collector.

  27. The MOCs are of city accessories with an emphasis on realism (studless). The ironic thing is that prior to this I was thinking about grouping them and making an IDEAS submission.

  28. Kids are definitely still into Minecraft. I have a feeling that this is what drives parents to buy these sets: they know the kids like Minecraft but they want to pull them away from the computer for a little while. In my experience over the last 3 years, I've never had a Minecraft set disappoint. Even 21122 Nether Fortress eventually turned things around.

  29. Never buy a Samsung fridge. Coming from an owner of one for 6 years and various parts replaced. Had to unlevel it to tilt backwards so the drain line in fridge would not freeze up. Plus as others said. Ice maker is garbage.

  30. Somewhere in this LEGO isle there is supposedly an Ultimate Quinjet for $7. I gave up looking after 20 minutes. I found several other great sets, all at MSRP... *facepalm* Really disliking Walmart and their stock tracker right now.

  35. Bought in recent weeks: Turbo Tank (most recent I believe) NISB (some shelf wear) $150 (Offerup)...good price, not a steal or anything, but local and I avoided 8.5% sales tax and shipping costs. Chinese New Years Eve's Dinner NISB (nice box) $220 (CL)...I'm high on Asian sets, I think it's slow but trending up and eventually (2-3 years) the earlier ones will likely be sought after. Should note i originally sold mine that I got for $150 for $225...I suck at re-selling. Ninjago Destiny's Bounty (the big one w two headed dragon) NISB (shelf wear) $160 (Offerup): just an amazing price (original RRP).

  36. The bummer is I got an email saying the package was "intercepted, weighed and rated." And "Your package will be delivered as instructed." This action resulted in a change of the tracking number. But still they delivered it. My wife who is a USPS clerk is dumbfounded.
