Never buy a Samsung fridge. Coming from an owner of one for 6 years and various parts replaced. Had to unlevel it to tilt backwards so the drain line in fridge would not freeze up. Plus as others said. Ice maker is garbage.4 points

I would think you would be able to title it: Custom MOC xxxxxx, using authentic Lego Bricks. That way Lego is still in the title. If you just put the Lego brand name first like you had it, it could be construed as produced by Lego.3 points

"Is your relationship good?" I'm going to say yes, based on a conversation she had with my wife the other day, where she asked "what's Pornhub?" She clearly felt comfortable to ask, rather than just looking it up without our knowledge. I admit, I'm a little hypocritical, because I've purged my socials. Can't stand them, and I've discovered my life is *far* less anxiety-driven by removing them. I've even gone so far as to stay away from message boards; this is the only message board I participate in. At the same time, I started getting online in 1982, when I was 10 years old. A 300-baud modem and a Commodore 64, and local message boards. There are still people in my local area that I know from that time. I'm in IT, including a field that's somewhat security based, so I'm always on top of security risks, mindful of issues related to being online. Does she "need" social media? To a degree, no. Although it is a very useful way for her to stay in contact with her friends during these times. I've spent hours discussing social media with my therapist; both regarding myself and my daughter. And one thing that came out of that conversation was "if she doesn't have her own access, she's going to grab her friends phones and access it that way." End of the day, by allowing her her own access, I can monitor what's going on. We do have a great relationship, and we talk everyday about pretty heavy stuff sometimes. Part of the rules of having a phone and socials is that we are subscribed to her accounts, and that we have access to her phone, her texts, and her DMs. What's nice is that there's a level of trust, so although we can ask for her phone at any time, she also doesn't feel like we're standing over her shoulder (her words). We give her latitude and trust, and she doesn't abuse it (and trust me, I know how to get into whatever I need to get into). Bottom line, even if I didn't allow her to get into social media, she'd still be with her friends, she'd still be exposed to these issues like politics, rioting, sex. At least this way, we know what's going on, and we can have open lines of communication. She's forming her own opinions, and challenges us on our, and I think that open discussion is ultimately a good thing.3 points

He is saying that is why Disney doesn't re-release movies from their vault... because they have racial undertones. So, now that Lego "has adopted the Disney model of the vault" if we say previous sets have racial undertones they won't re-release... it was a joke A concise explanation devoid of satire. Civil society has returned. Bravo, sir.2 points

No inside information or anything, but my Target did just put up a new plexiglass display case featuring all three of the current helmets this week. I doubt Lego would have sent displays to the stores if they were planning on retiring these anytime soon.2 points

Well, already you guys are helping a lot. Ice is mandatory in my house, all year long. And lots of it. My nearly 20 year old Kenmore ice maker broke about a year ago, and I’m too lazy/cheap to fix it, so it’s constant ice cube trays for me. I’m now real leery of the ice maker in the fridge. Good to know. My wife is tiny (under 5’) and we’re liking the idea of the freezer on the bottom. Not a big deal to have the fridge shelves be the highest point (I’ll keep my fridge food up there). We like the French door and single pull out. What’s annoying is how hard it is to find anything in white. Everything is stainless now, which doesn’t match our kitchen or our preference for white. But oh well. Keeping going with the fridge complaints. It’s helpful.2 points

My wife sure likes that screen to load the kids pictures on though. We don't need the fridge to work, just the built in screen.1 point

Thanks. Trust me, there are days when I think that might be the best! I just try to be willing to impart knowledge (as objectively as I can). Knowledge is power, and even giving my 12 year old daughter knowledge I wish I didn't have to is important for her. I admit, I'm a little anxious about tomorrow. Hopefully that means absolutely zero will happen, and the doom and gloom is just me reading too much into it. But there are so many different ways for things to go wrong. The reason she asked was because her 13 year old guy friends (whom she has all friend zoned), were talking about it, and she didn't quite trust/believe them that it was what it is.1 point

lol, 40% is probably not the "best" price I've seen posted online, but it's not too shabby. If last year was a good indication any clearance found is a good buy.1 point

Can we get a dedicated politics thread? I love to complain and listen to others complain but this political stuff is for the birds. It's an ongoing discussion/debate/war, not a complaint.1 point

Please, please, please! Anything but Bionicle. I actually don't mind the theme, but I don't see it as a very good anniversary set option. They are basically action figures and hardly classify with the Lego we see. Looking at how rabid the community is though, and how split the castle, space, and pirate votes are, it looks like a strong possibility it happens.1 point

Currently building Ninjago Garden and Police Station Modular. Ninjago Garden is the most detailed lego set I've ever built. Attention to minor details is the best I've seen. And I've built many lego sets and all the modulars.1 point

We also bought a Samsung 4 door with the touch screen blah blah blah....all I can say is search up Samsung ice makers and the class action lawsuit....draw your own conclusions.... I essentially have a $3500 cell phone in my kitchen that doesn't make calls, produces ice sometimes, and keeps food cold (it's good at keeping food cold)....not one of my more proud purchases....0 points
