I finally opened the shipping box and lo and behold. Arrived in excellent condition no shelf wear, no stickers, scratches, dings, etc... Looks like it was just picked up from a LEGO store. Seal code 31R0. Truly bizarre how this ended up in stock after being gone for so many years. Well, no complaints. Should be one my easiest flips!11 points

Coached my son's team in a regional soccer small sided tournament , finished first and qualified to the state's championship later on in the year. It wasn't that long ago when we were considered minnows, now other teams relish avoiding us in the earlier stages9 points

I built Pirates of Barracuda Bay. Haven’t built a lego set in a while. I used the iPad app and only issue was the Technic rods are not the same size as pictured like in the printed instructions. Also, there were two minor mistakes in the instructions not sure if they are wrong on the printed version. Other observations seems like there are less spare parts then in years past and some of the small gold window screen elements didn’t have that snap tight fit. Looks like it would be a great play set lots of places for minifigs may have to populate it with my pirates chess set, but will probably do the ship conversion first.8 points

The kids and I finished up the 7163 Republic Gunship. Another fun build...I like all of the Gunship builds so I am excited about the UCS version that is soon to be released. This was another build from our FM Marketplace haul...Next up: The Death Star 2 10143 and UCS Star Destroyer 10030. Comp pic with the 75021 version:5 points

My first thought was actually Best Buy. That was my first ever email account. AOL kept denying all my choices and I had a postcard from Treasure Island on my bulletin board at the time 😀 I just used it ever since.3 points

For what is worth, I placed an order Jan 1st for a HP Clock Tower after it had gone on backorder and both the Monster Book and Vintage Car stayed In Process until today. They are all now “In Warehouse”, including the sold out Vintage Car1 point

#1 We used Uber to get around Orlando. Maybe a little bit more expensive than car rental but I did not have to drive or park during my vacation. #2 Agreed1 point

Big Disney cost cutting news : 1) Starting in 2022, Disney (DIS) will no longer offer the "Magical Express" -- a free shuttle bus that brought guests staying at Walt Disney World hotels to and from Orlando International Airport. Disney did not operate the "Magical Express" service; it was subcontracted to Mears Transportation, an Orlando-based company. As a result, Testa said the move was "absolutely a cost-cutting measure." 2) Separately, Disney confirmed that another popular perk that was suspended amid the pandemic will not return. Called "Extra Magic Hours," this feature allowed guests who stay at Disney hotels to enter theme parks earlier than other visitors or stay in them later in the evening, sometimes adding an hour or more to their park stay.1 point

Couple things... My ice maker in the freezer seems to be overflowing and freezing water on the back of the freezer. Service tech came today and suggested it was the water inlet pump having an issue in knowing when to stop and it is overflowing (we have really hard water in my city that wreaks havoc on appliances). Makes sense because I AM getting ice, but getting excess water freezing on the tracks and rear wall. Guy was nice, told me what part I needed, how to install it, and told my I just saved about $300 by not paying him! Other thing was bought a new RC plane (Timber X - 44" wingspan) from Horizon Hobby. Yesterday, couldn't get much lift upon initial take off (I think my old batteries I was using need to go...) so I brought it down right away but a little rough and fast and at a slight angle and broke the prop in the parking lot. SO MANY hobby parts are on backorder (from China I'm sure) and that includes this prop so I think I'm out of the skies until I can complete repairs. I have two new batteries on order as well. Just stinks that I can buy the plane for $250 yet one broken $5 part and I'm stuck... Patience will prevail, I'll receive what I need in due time. I'm still troubleshooting exactly what happened. I'm a fairly skilled RC pilot have flown for years, doing tricks, etc. This one still doesn't make complete sense as to what happened.1 point

One Target close by showed the Bookshop Modular as “Limited Stock” for the last couple of days. Finally had a chance to pop in but was greeted with empty shelves and $40 HP advent calendars. One employee was stocking an endcap so I showed him the DPCI and he said “looks like that’s in the back”. A few mins later he returned with a LEGO shipper with 2 sets in it (neither had pristine boxes though). I still had Target circle rewards from one of the “place 3 orders” promos as well as some other “free” GCs from TP etc. orders, plus 10% off GCs from the holiday promo, so got this at a nice discount. Most stores show “Not sold in this store” and the set is sold out online, but if you see a “Limited Stock” store it might be worth checking out. FWIW this is for personal purchase ;-)1 point

LMAO! Yes, that is an old Realistic receiver purchased from Radio Shack in the early 80's for around $120. It replaced an aging Scott tube amp from the 50's, my dad's I am not that old, that if I kept and restored would be worth thousands of dollars. Although vintage audio is in that is not why I am using it and I haven't tried the tape deck. I use it for the "MONO" switch for when I play my mono records as my current Marantz amplifier does not have mono capabilities. It really brings the albums to life and you get that "in your room sound". Plus the market for these records is amazing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/CHET-BAKER-Sings-PACIFIC-JAZZ-RECORDS-PJ-1222-US-1956-DG-MONO-Russ-Freeman/313360917830?hash=item48f5c42546:g:Z38AAOSwafBf6Xn~1 point

I’m pretty sure it’s the back side of the Docks. I recognize that white building with the wheel for the window.1 point

My wife used to sell cars so she handles the negotiations, I know that's not very manly, but it's part of our technique. We run a good cop/bad cop situation. I buddy up to the salesman, listen to all their BS, act line I'm on the hook, and then suddenly hand off the deal to my wife. She beats them up on price, having a good idea on what the margins should be, and then if we can't get to an agreement, we walk. You have to be willing to walk, they will call. They always call.1 point

Was surprised how cool this Architecture White House 21054 was to build. Also nice how the set fits into the box when storing. I did one minor change. The included transparent antenna looked dumb as a water fountain so I used a trans blue element from some Marvel set.1 point

Finally cracked open the seals on the 10193 Medieval Market Village I bought on EBay several years ago. Built it and now working on "winterizing" the set so it can go under the tree. As this was the first time I built a 10yr old set "fresh from the factory", a couple of observations: - 2010 Reddish Brown SUCKS. Lots of cracking noises when placing bricks. One rounded window frame broke part of the bottom antistuds off (luckily these are plentiful available) - on first use ever! - Numbered bags for large sets are such a help. I had to dump 1600+ bricks on a table and do a lot of searching, as this set has no numbered bags. - Instructions really fail in color recognition. It was often hard to distinguish Black, DBG and LBG, as well as Tan vs Pearl Gold vs Pink, to the point that at the end I had to break down the chimney on the first house because I had used an LBG 1x4 plate instead of a DBG 1x4. - The big tree build is finnicky. Especially when trying to add the white flowers/blossoms to the tree. That said, the set is really solid and once I do my winterization I think it'll look great in my Winter Village.1 point

Another year... another kid. Same train. Mrs. Brickvoyeur is building the gingerbread house, while I get to finish up the Bakery and Post Office. Doubtful the Fire Station or Market make an appearance this year. The Cottage will eventually find its way to me for under $100 like all the other old Winter Village sets have.1 point

Built the corner garage on Monday/Tuesday and the Bookshop on Wednesday/Thursday. I like both builds and really notice the improved techniques in the modular line, especially for similar areas to other modulars, or when comparing to city mini builds. As blasphemous as this is: Green Grocer needs an update. The Garage feature is excellent (at least it's my son's favourite besides the fire truck) and is well designed. The rolling door is not for little hands though and the greebling was VERY annoying. I hope Lego figures out a way to take a similar set and make it a reverse corner in the future. I have 5 corner buildings which is enough. The Bookshop was a very strong build and I love the colours, but would like to see a little more work on the walls of the shop itself. The trees suck (and always have) and the corner garage tree looks stupid. The Bookshop is the nicer finished product but suffers like Pet Shop and Detective's Office with a half building each. A full floor bookstore would have been really cool. I am very thankful that they are full size buildings unlike the DO and BB. The best feature of both is that they don't have the stupid Diner staircase. Parisian Restaurant and Green Grocer still rank 1 and 1A for me. Bonus photo of the buildings around the tree this year with both Holiday trains (wall isn't done, but whatever). I hope to light them back up next year if my kid stops touches them .1 point

You know what ? The 70614 Lightning Jet is my worst seller ever. I love this set. I think it is awesome, and the build is as impressive as the other Ninjago Movie vehicules and mechs. I have sold more than 500 sets over the last 8 years, and for the first time, there is a set I simply cannot sell, even as low as 50€ (retail was 64.99€ in France). Even Chima sets did better than this one. Weird, isn't it ?0 points
