  5. I had to go to the Apple store at the mall today and was early for my pickup time so I went into the Lego store to kill time. I think the last time I bought a set from there was Assembly Square on New Year’s Day 2017 and they still had them on the shelf today. My GF (like how I threw that in there) said: “let’s get a set to build it will be fun”. They had a lot of neat sets I had never seen in person: diagon alley, coliseum (no way was I building that), piano, Batmobile, and many more. We ended up getting barracuda bay it just looks like a fun build, no points, no promos, no sales, no backroom deals just being a regular person not a reseller or QFLL.

  8. is there any way I can talk my wife into believing the Vestas set is a functional fan that we could use to cool the air in the living room?

  9. It was $250 per changing to 750. They got to many complaints from customers not being home and missing shipments. As long as the zip code matches you are covered with a delivered scan. There are times where eBay will still refund the buyer out of their pocket. Usually give everyone a one time courtesy. Can always tell the ones that abuse it as they close with no refund do to buyer. PayPal was great cause they never held funds if your account was longstanding with no issues. Had many $250-500 unauthorized charge backs and always won them. The ones that go through eBay then PayPal usually have a tough time cause in the notes you could also put customer already tried through eBay and was denied. Had a few disputes in managed payments and so far seems the same. They did change the $750 threshold to include tax and shipping so watch that. It gives you a warning message on any higher dollar item that comes close. It still auto adds it if for sure over $750 sold price if using shipping through eBay. Managed payments holds funds for anything dispute or case wise so hurts a bit more. As far as returns I'd say 75-80% follow through on average.

  11. I had zero interest in the Vestas Wind Turbine set until recently. The printed parts pushed me to finally get one before it’s too late. My local store had one left at 20% off with 2018 seal codes....and some shelf-ware. But at least got the holiday promos too.

  13. I don't know... Walmart has a good amount of abuse as well. I just recently had WM auto-refund the customer for a claim that they put in. The reason? "Lost after delivery". That's right... the package was delivered, delivery confirmation proves it. Yet, the customer received a refund from me because it was "lost after delivery". That's one that I don't think even Amazon sides with the customer on!

  14. Well...The last Harry Potter book and movie came out a decade or more ago. Since then, Universal has invested hundreds of millions of dollars developing entire and growing Harry Potter worlds at its Orlando and California amusement parks, and stage productions have opened in both London and New York. And, the Harry Potter Lego sets continue to sell well enough to justify an entire product line. I'd say that HP is far from being done based on the Universal investment alone.

  15. Calendar is up now: January 2021 LEGO Calendar Biggest news, to me at least, the Vintage Car and Monster Book of Monsters overlap for the entire month. Good opportunity to stock up on HP sets at a decent "discount" 01_January_Calendar_US.pdf

  17. I was hoping for a GB firehouse reissue, or some other reissue to send this place into a frenzy. Been kinda quiet the last week or two. I expect the police station to sell out. Should be a decent enough flip to use leftover vip on and get the car. The ferrari could possibly sell out too.

  26. the F in FBA doesn't only stand for Fulfilled.. There is more abuse on Amazon compared to other sites and even more so with FBA, but on the flip side the traffic and the $$ price range cant be matched anywhere else. it works , but don't let your frustration get the best of you . You have more control if you do FBM but it is more work and doesnt always make sense ( and you still can get scammed )

  30. This is my concern as well. The longer our shipments go MIA and product comes back into stock, the cheaper prices will fall and the likelihood of returns or worse, non-delivery cases increases. *sigh* Wish we could sue the USPS, even in small claims courts. EDIT: I just had one deliver today 12/31 to a customer 2.5 hours drive from me. Took 15 days from drop-off to arrival. So much for 1-Day Priority Mail. I will seriously reconsider delivery options in the future. I now have one more shipment that has been sitting in a regional PO for the last three days.
