I had to go to the Apple store at the mall today and was early for my pickup time so I went into the Lego store to kill time. I think the last time I bought a set from there was Assembly Square on New Year’s Day 2017 and they still had them on the shelf today. My GF (like how I threw that in there) said: “let’s get a set to build it will be fun”. They had a lot of neat sets I had never seen in person: diagon alley, coliseum (no way was I building that), piano, Batmobile, and many more. We ended up getting barracuda bay it just looks like a fun build, no points, no promos, no sales, no backroom deals just being a regular person not a reseller or QFLL.6 points

kinda disappointed. I was envisioning a Avatar-ish tiered Asian Gardens...not a MOC of Ninjago City theme w/ a tree growing from the center Would obviously mate well next to Ninjago City...but I guess this means Ninjago City is NOT coming back...just too similar.2 points

mis-delivered packages will abound this holiday season; I would bet most of them are due to the various streets, ave, courts, place, etc versions of street names...it's ridic! If you live on such a street, I would encourage you to google your street number and get to know your address' doppelganger on a first name basis. Make a friend and plan monthly package swaps.2 points

Amazon is the most broken corrupt system I have ever seen but what can we do? For the handful of cases that we bang our heads against the wall in frustration of the "Amazon System". What, go to eBay or Bricklink and get 1/3 of the less price? We are all F*$#ked and can't fight it.2 points

I don't know... Walmart has a good amount of abuse as well. I just recently had WM auto-refund the customer for a claim that they put in. The reason? "Lost after delivery". That's right... the package was delivered, delivery confirmation proves it. Yet, the customer received a refund from me because it was "lost after delivery". That's one that I don't think even Amazon sides with the customer on!2 points

the F in FBA doesn't only stand for Fulfilled.. There is more abuse on Amazon compared to other sites and even more so with FBA, but on the flip side the traffic and the $$ price range cant be matched anywhere else. it works , but don't let your frustration get the best of you . You have more control if you do FBM but it is more work and doesnt always make sense ( and you still can get scammed )2 points

i just had that happen on an Amazon purchase. went to a neighbor that shared the same address number but slightly different street name and left them a note. They called later that day to say they have the package.2 points

If you're collecting then just return the damaged box and wait till the re-stock....or bust seals open and build one. The set ain't going anywhere.2 points
-
rather they do this than undercut the reseller market with post EOL msrp stock to drum up the seller count and encourage returns. in the case of ship in a bottle, its a remarkable act of mercy allowing reseller scum 2 exit their position with a modicum of profit and respect. ok, maybe just profit.2 points

Bought a used Technic lot for $350 that includes: 42100 - Liebherr 42096 - Porsche 42077 - Rally Car 42110 - Landrover 42076 - Hovercraft All 100% complete, with instructions and boxes. The funny thing is, is that this is a guy that semi-regularly buys new Technic sets from me. I sold him the Hovercraft new for $80, and sold him the Liebherr (which I had won from the Lego raffle reddit) for $200 and a used 100% complete with instructions and box 42082 Rough Terrain Crane. So, I have already gotten $280 cash from him for sets I sold him. Now I basically give him his money back and get my new sets back in used, adult collector condition and for $70 more got a Rough Terrain Crane, Landrover, Rally Car and white Porsche. Not a bad deal.2 points

If anyone is wanting an actual garden, the new Spring Lantern Festival set (80107) looks very appealing. I'd be interested to see how that lines up next to the Ninjago City sets.1 point

Looks really similar to ninjago city, I was expecting something more original. Also interesting to see that they're going with 14+ on this one1 point

According to Brickset, the image is from a Canadian Catalogue so the US price should be less.1 point

Delivery scans supposedly have the GPS coordinates, so, in theory, the local post office should be able to tell you where the delivery scan occurred.1 point

Good point. I always buy my FBM shipping from Amazon, but Walmart has no option for that so you always have to do 3rd party shipping purchase and label printing.1 point

if you dont buy Shipping from Amazon, tracking isnt enough and customer will get refunded unless you have a signature. if you do get shipping from Amazon, buyer will ( to a certain number of times ) get refunded by Amazon if they open AZ and that will translate into higher fees so seller is still paying for it .1 point

I started shipping again via USPS on the 23rd and so far things seem to be moving. Edit to add that I am in Texas and my biggest issue was items leaving the state and that part seems to be moving better.1 point

Friends Lighthouse 20% off at Amazon and Walmart https://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Friends-Lighthouse-Rescue-Center-41380-Building-Kit-602-Pieces/383620990? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QTVNYMT Walmart has bunch of stuff 20% off. This one was red hot two weeks ago. Maybe with the stimulus checks coming, could be another QF Friends Plane $56 (20% off) https://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Friends-Heartlake-City-Airplane-41429-Building-Toy-Inspires-Travel-Story-Making-Play-Scenarios-574-Pieces/9498525571 point

Actually it will be on the seller if there is no signature confirmation. Make a pp claim or just let it go if it's cheap. Maybe one of your neighbors will drop it off in the next few days. I had that occur before.1 point

If you have a neighborhood facebook page (or something similar) you could ask there. Also, there are occasions where a postal person ends the day (before finishing deliveries), and the tracking can get mis stated - if that is the case, you would likely get the package today.1 point

I disagree. Star Wars is their biggest money-maker, their anchor. Also, there is continuous SW output to keep interests alive and for present/future generations. Harry Potter is pretty much finished. The Fantastic Beasts hasn't been that popular and no new HP is on the near horizon. After a point, the license fee will no longer make sense. There are still HP scenes that could be done but, without new, interesting content, it's a dwindling project. That's just my $.02, I could be wrong. I often have been. Just ask my ex-wife.1 point

What I was saying is, I think HP may become a steady theme like Star Wars. It's not going away. They will retire the Great Hall, but like the MF, they will just bring in another. In the past, The HP sets coordinated with the movie releases. And like any theme, some sets lingered longer than others. I believe during the last run, DA was the last to linger on.1 point

This year I bought two bulk lots of Friends (and other "girl" lego). They're all sets that I don't have in my collection as I've never collected those themes before. The last bulk set I bought was roughly 7 years ago. I have an almost 2 year old girl now and am throwing as many duplo at her as possible to encourage the love of lego. I figure she'll enjoy the Friends sets in the future. Between the two lots there may be a few duplicate sets, but I'm not sure if I'd sell or just save them for her to free play with. But I do try to complete sets in my collection with the idea that they may be sold in the future. I've completed maybe a dozen sets so far and there are definitely some frustrations, but I'm still enjoying the process overall. Not trying to keep up with extra pieces will make up for the frustration of having to purchase some pieces individually on bricklink in the future (I hope). Either way - I'm having fun!1 point

Yes, Friends sets can be annoying with all the different lavender, purple, pink and magenta shades. Some of my highest profit margins for used sets have come from the Friends line though. I don't think most folks think of "girls Lego" as holding much value so they sell them a lot cheaper. I think I bought 3 used Grand Hotels this past year to sell and the cost of all 3 combined was less than what I sold just 1 of them for.1 point

Yep! I am. Sold off most of my lego collection, my Jabba's Sail Barge, and my Acorns investment to move most of it to Crypto. So far, it's been a pretty good investment. Not every coin is doing great, but my biggest holding (ETH) is doing solid. I'm also holding coins from the last bull run. I'm almost in the green on some ETH I bought last bull run. It's been quite a ride!1 point

I don't even keep spare pieces with my own sets anymore. I used to, but eventually the collection of unflattened boxes with original bags in them just took up far too much space. Any buyer who cares about that sort of thing should / will just buy new.1 point

Yeah, I'm learning to take the time to develop a rapport and hopefully a relationship with my sellers/buyers..it's so easy to go for the quick transaction (CV and face mask prompts this)...but 30 minutes ago I sold a Slave 1 Ani to a mom "who ruined Christmas" by buying the wrong Slave 1 (nonLEGO apparently), Fb Marketplace for $180 (my asking price-zero haggle); she was just happy to find me. Anyway, her boys love LEGO and build only sets meticulously...she mentioned she donated a bunch of them when they move and was thinking she really ought to sell the sets the boys are no longer interested in... Sales come and go; but a good customer is something special.1 point
