I have have three packages with USPS (I hand delivered them myself) had no movement for 10+ days. I went to: https://emailus.usps.com/s/ There are six options below where you enter the tracking number. Top, left is "Where is my package?" When you fill in all the info (ship-from name/addr, ship-to name/addr, etc.) it will show on the tracking info that you initiated a "Where is my package inquiry". So far, one package magically showed up and is supposed to be delivered today. The other two are still in limbo. But the buyers appreciated my initiative. Being a small-fry it's not too much trouble for me to fire these up when there is no movement. I can't imagine doing this for dozens let alone hundreds of shipments.4 points

Yeah they are all batched and tagged from what they say. So would assume they get buried and if enough notices come through they are found. I've had strings of packages not moved together so assume all sitting in the same cart. I know a few postal inspectors were at our locations this week making them scan everything in the office. Got in trouble for it so also could bring that on if enough are done. Definitely not looking for each one but probably more a cart or batch that gets buried. Also not as successful through this but in normal season it's worked 99.9% of time for me the last 2 years.3 points

This is a fun set to run. Very fast, handles great & turns on a dime. My cat hates it. Best remote technic set ever.2 points

I have a Target UPS order for which a label has been created on the 17th but UPS is still waiting for the shipment. I thought that with UPS I wouldn't have any of the delay shenanigans, but it looks like the delay is on the Target side in sending the package to UPS. In other news, had a nervous buyer who started messaging me about his USPS package being stuck without updates last week. Decided to use the official USPS protocol for a missing or delayed package and used their online form to notify the receiving post office for an investigation. To my surprise, after the package got delivered yesterday, they called me to inform that the item was now delivered. Never thought they would have time for that - was a nice gesture.2 points

Mostly due to mismanagement. USPS has been struggling for years but this administration has purposely sabotaged it.2 points

Have you set "Text & Email Updates" on those tracking #s ? That worked surprisingly well to get my packages through the glut. I have 1 left in limbo. When asked for refund, I just directed buyer to open INR2 points

I dont even look at my shipments unless I'm contacted by a buyer. No sense in stressing over things I have no control over. Thinks its time for mimosas...2 points

I’m not trying to pick a fight. Just saying that the Zavvi page says the “RRP” is $349 which is a lie. For those that don’t know, they could be misled by this misleading practice on Zavvi. I love the set and have many in my inventory. They sell at or below original RRP on BrickLink...so $10 over actual original RRP is a long hold to material profit.2 points

Tomwang2016 came from the future. His mission was to relay important information about retired sets being resurrected. After his mission was completed, I'm sad to inform he was destroyed by a battalion of Lego robots sent by TLG to disrupt the leaking of company secrets. RIP Tomwang2016 and Tomwang20242 points

Ebay store is shut down until the great mail fiasco of 2020 is over, tree is up, and presents are wrapped. So we treated ourselves to an afternoon matinee of "Galaxy Quest" today. Hubby is a huge Trekkie, so this is one movie where he'll stop everything and watch. And we both agree, Guy Fleegman is the hero we need right now. "Did you guys ever WATCH the show?!"2 points

My only logical explanation is it sends out distress signals to the Keebler Elf, Dobby, Deedlit, and Legolas to help deliver the packages1 point

Found my first Costco with them last night for $80. Kit several last night and the only sets I'm seeing left are the $10 City Sets & Droid Commanders. Too bad they get rid of them after today instead of marking them down further.1 point

Also with ebay, I have always found that oversights almost always go against you. If there is a fee/charge that should take place against you, that will process nearly 100% of the time, but if there is an exception (in your favor), somehow that will often tend to slip through the cracks (unless you call them on it).1 point

Ninjago City is a masterpiece (don't believe me, it won best set this generation at Brickset [Old fishing store 2nd place])...it's the ONLY set I sold in all my reselling where I regretted it (even tho I pocketed almost $250 profit) and could not rest until I had a replacement in my collection. I have given up trying to get one NISB for a "reasonable" price. the freakin vending machine gets me every time or the lobster grilling feature...the details are amazing; so creative. I would love it if it was re-issued.1 point

I think this picture highlights how superior the Gingerbread House is to the other WV builds. All nice, but that one stands out.1 point

Finally cracked open the seals on the 10193 Medieval Market Village I bought on EBay several years ago. Built it and now working on "winterizing" the set so it can go under the tree. As this was the first time I built a 10yr old set "fresh from the factory", a couple of observations: - 2010 Reddish Brown SUCKS. Lots of cracking noises when placing bricks. One rounded window frame broke part of the bottom antistuds off (luckily these are plentiful available) - on first use ever! - Numbered bags for large sets are such a help. I had to dump 1600+ bricks on a table and do a lot of searching, as this set has no numbered bags. - Instructions really fail in color recognition. It was often hard to distinguish Black, DBG and LBG, as well as Tan vs Pearl Gold vs Pink, to the point that at the end I had to break down the chimney on the first house because I had used an LBG 1x4 plate instead of a DBG 1x4. - The big tree build is finnicky. Especially when trying to add the white flowers/blossoms to the tree. That said, the set is really solid and once I do my winterization I think it'll look great in my Winter Village.1 point

Amen. It's just really refreshing to have female characters who DON'T function as eye candy, a love interest 20 years younger than the male lead, a token diversity squad member, or a damsel in distress needing to be saved.1 point

Just re-watched the finale, and realized that Mando's handpicked squad was all female (+Boba Fett backing up in Slave I). And the awesome thing was that I didn't even notice that the first time around…because it was an organic part of the story, and each of these characters had already shown themselves to be extremely proficient warriors: Cara Dune-former shock trooper with MMA level fight skills; Fennec Shand-elite sniper and part bionic woman; Bo Katan-Mandalorian resistance leader and former Darksaber wielder; & Koska Reeves-badass Mandalorian with WWE level fight skills. This, of course, made me question Marvel's reasoning during the Endgame finale (which I absolutely loved, except when they made a point to have all the female heroes band together.) That scene felt so forced…I didn't buy it at all, and several folks around me in the audience actually groaned. So big kudos to Filoni and Favreau for writing great characters (male, female, alien, and everything in between) and not shoe horning any nonsense in.1 point

I check the prices a couple times a year. If a set is flat, I dump it after a year. Maybe it'll go up, but maybe it will be the next Birds, Exosuit, Women of NASA, etc... just taking up shelf space. If it climbed, but has since leveled off, also a good time to sell. Super Star Destroyer, Grand Emporium, etc... would be a good examples (ignoring what they did this past year). If it took off like a rocket with irrational exuberance, might want to pull the trigger quick -- I'm looking at you, Seacow. Everything else, is up to your cash flow needs. In my spreadsheet where I track all my sets, I have the sale price column and the date sold right next together. Most of my sales are on ebay and I list one set at a time, and I'll price the next set based on the trend that I'm seeing. It's depressing when I see sets selling for $350 two weeks before Christmas that were selling for $250 two weeks earlier. Ya, you'd wish you had held onto those sets and sold them later, but that's how the dice rolls sometimes. My solution is to "simply" stock enough sets that I can get some quick returns early, but also have the reserves to participate in the long game. For me, that means where I might have considered 10 of a set to be a good reserve with large diversification, now I'm looking at 30 to 50 in a smaller variety. Similarly, if it is going up, consider why. Is it FOMO driven -- if so, sell quick. Is it part of a long-term collectible series (winter holiday sets, architecture cityscapes) where new incoming participants want to catch up -- then it'll probably only continue to increase and you might want to hold longer. If it is part of a series that has been cancelled -- such as sets based on a particular movie -- then the demand might wane and you'll wish you had sold earlier. And then there are the classics -- look at the price history of 10223 or any of the 7040X castle sets. When you think of LEGO, how can you not think about Space and Castles? As long as LEGO doesn't introduce a new castle series, nostalgia will continue to drive these up and you should probably hold onto a couple of them. And then there is the exit plan. How much can a set go up after all? If it's already 5x its original MSRP like some of the castle sets, then do you cash out or keep betting? I don't know of many people who will say, "Oh, why did I sell for 400% profit when I could have made 900% profit?" You're more likely to hear, "Why didn't I take my 400% profit before LEGO decided to reissue the same set this year and now I only doubled my money?" It's a lot safer to take that 400% gain and reinvest it in the next set that might go up only 50%, but is not very likely to drop 50% after retirement. Also, at some point, folks will Bricklink a set if they are willing to spend 5x MSRP. I picked 5x just because that's a fairly extreme gain that not many sets will hit. Personally, if I have a set that has hit 3x MSRP on ebay, I'm more than happy to sell and never look back.1 point

I can't vouch for the sets Zepp mentioned, but can independently confirm that there is an internal list that employees have access to. I've seen it myself, on occassion.1 point

My goal is to build my city into a coffee table. I wanted something that I could drop modulars into as well as design my own. I also needed a train because what is a Lego city without a train. I'm currently working to modify the Hogwarts express to fit under my arch way. Soon I'll start adding lighting. I am now considering expanding the city and going away from the coffee table idea. I also sell Lego to fund the habit.1 point
