Ebay store is shut down until the great mail fiasco of 2020 is over, tree is up, and presents are wrapped. So we treated ourselves to an afternoon matinee of "Galaxy Quest" today. Hubby is a huge Trekkie, so this is one movie where he'll stop everything and watch. And we both agree, Guy Fleegman is the hero we need right now. "Did you guys ever WATCH the show?!"6 points

Tomwang2016 came from the future. His mission was to relay important information about retired sets being resurrected. After his mission was completed, I'm sad to inform he was destroyed by a battalion of Lego robots sent by TLG to disrupt the leaking of company secrets. RIP Tomwang2016 and Tomwang20242 points

Creator 3-in-1 Townhouse $64 (20% off) https://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Creator-3-in-1-Townhouse-Pet-Shop-Cafe-31097-Store-Building-Set/427298524?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&&adid=22222222228000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=9007285&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=427298524&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAiAz4b_BRBbEiwA5XlVVgXetpxWOB8U79IOVcdckUhOnJ6FGK_GO1XB0yQxNCDr5lCDbudjDRoCY0MQAvD_BwE It's not on the retirement list but other 2019 creator sets are, so figure this one will be gone soon. Not a pirate roller coaster but somehow very appealing.2 points

LEGO needs to upgrade and re-lease this set as Harry Potter Hogsmeade (then no "winterizing" needed)2 points

Time to break out the train. No big Xmas dinner this year or dinner parties so the wife granted the kids the use of the dining room table.2 points

All over the map. A Costco I stopped at had DC for $130. I've seen Police Station for $40, Groomer $10, City Sets $10, 2-Pack City set $15, Pet Shop $15. Have had no time really to go driver around -- bummer. So many Costco's, so little time . . .1 point

Ninjago City is a masterpiece (don't believe me, it won best set this generation at Brickset [Old fishing store 2nd place])...it's the ONLY set I sold in all my reselling where I regretted it (even tho I pocketed almost $250 profit) and could not rest until I had a replacement in my collection. I have given up trying to get one NISB for a "reasonable" price. the freakin vending machine gets me every time or the lobster grilling feature...the details are amazing; so creative. I would love it if it was re-issued.1 point

yup, lets make fun of the Motor City. @BrickLegacy knows no shame.1 point

@tomwang2016 Dropped info and bailed. Newer Member Said Saturn v and Ninjago city were coming back, the info was met with understandable suspicion. But now that Sat V is back there is some sound to the whispers. If That member comes back and wants to share more, give me a direct msg I'll listen without judgment 🦈1 point

https://amp.detroitnews.com/amp/4003771001?__twitter_impression=true Sorry, it appears the article is behind a paywall. Summary from a reporter: Four days spent waiting in a truck cab. Bottles of urine left on the ground outside. Fights over attempted cutting in line. I think this picture highlights how superior the Gingerbread House is to the other WV builds. All nice, but that one stands out.1 point

I managed to get in and order 3. But no email confirmation and the order says "waiting for stock" so I suspect I will get a cancellation email in the next week or so. I'll post back here when I find out one way or the other1 point

That’s good to hear. There are 2021 sets coming Jan 1 that I’ll pick up if my targeted sets don’t come back in stock by then.1 point

I had the same concern, I had to talk to LEGO CS about something else and mentioned this, they said the vouchers are really good 60 days, and even then if you call you can likely get them extended. I used my online ones early but I still have in-store ones to use1 point

I had the same problem at one Walgreens. The lady told me to just place the order online for store pick up. So I have been going in and checking out what they have instock to get an accurate count. Then I place the order online while im standing there and take it to the counter to check out and show them the email. Worked pretty good so far.1 point

Thank you for the pictures - I saw a glimpse today (with seperation) but it was not the same - all cloudy in Michigan but my space nerd son was in Florida so he got to see it. Thank you1 point

I think you will do fine on those, I parted out 20 earlier this year and sold many of the parts and figs already, so much so I started buying them again when I saw them available for $16.1 point

Finally cracked open the seals on the 10193 Medieval Market Village I bought on EBay several years ago. Built it and now working on "winterizing" the set so it can go under the tree. As this was the first time I built a 10yr old set "fresh from the factory", a couple of observations: - 2010 Reddish Brown SUCKS. Lots of cracking noises when placing bricks. One rounded window frame broke part of the bottom antistuds off (luckily these are plentiful available) - on first use ever! - Numbered bags for large sets are such a help. I had to dump 1600+ bricks on a table and do a lot of searching, as this set has no numbered bags. - Instructions really fail in color recognition. It was often hard to distinguish Black, DBG and LBG, as well as Tan vs Pearl Gold vs Pink, to the point that at the end I had to break down the chimney on the first house because I had used an LBG 1x4 plate instead of a DBG 1x4. - The big tree build is finnicky. Especially when trying to add the white flowers/blossoms to the tree. That said, the set is really solid and once I do my winterization I think it'll look great in my Winter Village.1 point

got a couple at $119 just now. A year or so ago these were down to $80-ish and I shunned them because it looked so lame. Has been on sale around $99 for many times as well. Anyway, FOMO got me thinking that there's now a good chance this castle shows up in various shows (outside of its brief cameo in Rogue One)...making it potentially highly prized.1 point

Postpone the fees... Means they crushed it this year and plan on screwing us super hard this spring.1 point

After days and days without scans, 2 outgoing packages finally got scanned at the destination city. Both of these were going from FL to AL and have been out there from before December 10th. Talking about USPS Priority just in case there was any doubt...1 point

Picked up a complete no instructions or box 10262 Aston Martin DB5 for $105 shipped from EBay the other day. Was still looking for one to build and they were out of stock everywhere, I guess I happened to come across the listing just at the right time. Officially it would have been $120 shipped but I used my $15 coupon from switching to Managed Payments to bring the price down further. $5 for a manual from Bricklink, and just missing 1 LBG plate 1x1 (I've got plenty of those). While inventorying the set, I tried this for the first time. Probably also the last time1 point

Built the corner garage on Monday/Tuesday and the Bookshop on Wednesday/Thursday. I like both builds and really notice the improved techniques in the modular line, especially for similar areas to other modulars, or when comparing to city mini builds. As blasphemous as this is: Green Grocer needs an update. The Garage feature is excellent (at least it's my son's favourite besides the fire truck) and is well designed. The rolling door is not for little hands though and the greebling was VERY annoying. I hope Lego figures out a way to take a similar set and make it a reverse corner in the future. I have 5 corner buildings which is enough. The Bookshop was a very strong build and I love the colours, but would like to see a little more work on the walls of the shop itself. The trees suck (and always have) and the corner garage tree looks stupid. The Bookshop is the nicer finished product but suffers like Pet Shop and Detective's Office with a half building each. A full floor bookstore would have been really cool. I am very thankful that they are full size buildings unlike the DO and BB. The best feature of both is that they don't have the stupid Diner staircase. Parisian Restaurant and Green Grocer still rank 1 and 1A for me. Bonus photo of the buildings around the tree this year with both Holiday trains (wall isn't done, but whatever). I hope to light them back up next year if my kid stops touches them .1 point
