  7. Picked up a complete no instructions or box 10262 Aston Martin DB5 for $105 shipped from EBay the other day. Was still looking for one to build and they were out of stock everywhere, I guess I happened to come across the listing just at the right time. Officially it would have been $120 shipped but I used my $15 coupon from switching to Managed Payments to bring the price down further. $5 for a manual from Bricklink, and just missing 1 LBG plate 1x1 (I've got plenty of those). While inventorying the set, I tried this for the first time. Probably also the last time

  8. That fox was an easy lock based on previous elves performance. Easily the best animal of the last run in the series. I see it in the $250 range easy on eBay by next year. IMO Elves are some of the best sets Lego ever produced. I’ve built many of the sets to sell used and they are fantastic, technical, “girls” sets. Nothing compares. Trolls is a half hearted attempt to recreate which doesn’t cut it.

  9. Time to break out the train. No big Xmas dinner this year or dinner parties so the wife granted the kids the use of the dining room table.

  10. Hi everyone, I resell mostly SW sets (because it's the area I know most about) as a hobby. I use the income to fund my own lego purchases. I also design mocs for fun. Been checking out Brickpicker for a long time and while I'm not at the level of volume or dedication as many of you I do my best to make the most level headed decisions about my purchases - for resale that is - for personal use all logic is out the window! Glad to be here and to continue to learn the best methods to increase my margins!

  12. To be fair to people saying goodbye - the forum is nice and all, but it was the Brickfolio that made Brickpicker the go-to site for LEGO investing. Lots of tangible data rather than just another forum where people share opinions. I'm still holding out hope, but even as an ardent supporter of this website - you've got to agree that it's missing a vital piece for much longer than anyone ever thought possible. I'm not going anywhere, but I see why people are frustrated and looking to other sites to support their investing habit.

  14. retired in oz. still TOOS in US. this is reassuring. triceratops still hasn't retired anywhere - SOLD OUT in north america - TOOS in rest of world. triceratops retired in poland and a few other countries in eu. with the delay in the new JW motion picture i have been worried these could stick around longer if they ended up delaying the new sets based on the motion picture which isn't coming out until next year. the "Newman" minifigure from this set will be in demand after the Seinfeld ideas set gets released.

  15. Honestly, how deep can you go on these knowing they are still cranking them out? And most likely some sort of remake is probably coming next year? Slap discolored and rust stickers on it a la Ecto-1.

  16. That was just your common sense. You are saving yourself from future headache. USPS is a dud no matter which service you use. Now, if you told them "are you sure?" on UPS 1 day airmail shipping...

  17. I had one on a Harry Potter set a few days ago, but it was fixed and dropped off my dashboard. Then I got one of those emails today. I think it's just a delayed notification.

  18. My Christmas conscience must be getting to me - I just sent an "are you sure" letter to a would be buyer who wants to not only pay a lot (for a small set), but also pay extra for Priority Express shipping.

  20. I understand that people are upset/disappointed, and it is a feature that many have utilized on here (I haven't because I use other methods for tracking my sets, buy-ins, etc.), but I think people need to remember: this site is free. If you were being charged for a feature and that feature disappeared, you should absolutely be up in arms, but if the Macks or anyone else dedicating time to keeping the site going decided one day to just shut it all down, that's up to them. I know the disappearance came out of nowhere, but I don't think they intended for it to go down in the first place, so it wasn't just like Admin said, "Guess what? No Brickfolio for you!" They have lives outside of here, which may require more attention than random people on the Internet who quietly enjoyed something but started to get loud only when it disappeared.

  27. UCS Slave 1 is a fantastic display piece but, it's heavy and very flimsy. I can't see it being a good fit a kid that has just watched the Mandalorian and wants something to play with. I haven't built the 20th Anniversary edition but it looks like a much better choice as a play set. The reduced weight and the handle on the back means it's very swooshable.

  29. Great to also see the Lambda Class Shuttle being used in the final episode! I still hope for a Lego UCS Imperial Shuttle remake to someday come out, as I never got the 10212 set. This appearance in The Mandalorian might boost that chance.

  32. My advice: send one more email expressing your sympathy with his situation but that there is nothing you can do. He can pay the import fees or refuse delivery, and you will refund once the package is back to you (with all the deductions yada yada). Then stop responding. The more you engage, the more he will try to make this your problem.

  33. As the x-wing flashed past the window I said to my wife, "Was that Red Five?" I grabbed the remote and backed up to that scene - "Yep, it's Red Five. This is the Luke the entire Star Wars fan base has been looking for." She said, "How can you tell it's Luke?" Me: "The stripes on the wings." My wife: "You're such a geek." lol I confess I almost had tears in my eyes while Luke toasted the entire squad of dark troopers. If only the sequel trilogy had given us this Luke. *sigh*

  34. Ok, you just sent me down a rabbit hole of the differences between PAB and BAP...I had wondered how city builders find enough BURPs to build mountains... Now I know.. I just feel so... ALIVE!!

  35. Whoever wrote this scene, I'm assuming Favreau, just put clown shoes on everyone involved with the sequel trilogy. There are probably some that are calling this empty fan service, but if this kind of fans service is wrong, I don't want to be right.

  37. BTC is doing amazing. Probably still didn't take off, I suspect 2021 will be an unbelievably strong year for BTC, which is both an opportunity & something to seriously worry about, as someone wants digital assets to replace gold, silver, platinum etc. I predict we'll kick ourselves if we're not getting in now. Kind of a high risk/high reward game. Probably more on the high reward side though, as big players, billionaire investors, corporations & banks are getting into it right now. I still believe this whole operation is a strategy to let people warm up to digital currencies, to eliminate cash, install a digital dollar/euro/yen & take away the last piece of freedom we have, which is money in physical form. Pure transparency incoming.

  39. Finished a 40289 last night. Nice little Harry Potter site. Already lost the light purple hat and had to use one from the 1960s Batcave set. D’oh. That hat is only in 3 sets.

  40. Your not keeping track? Key a spreadsheet when you purchase. Maybe if your doing less than 25-30 sets a year you can wing it. Any more you really should track it.
    1 point
  41. that is the crux of the issue is that everything is stuck in transit. u can't really file an a-z if it still shows in transit. i have been using customer communications as an opportunity to document for amazon exactly what is going on by pasting updated tracking info from USPS website which while not perfect is definitely better than what the customer sees going through amazon. amazon is telling them the package is "lost" = total bull$hit. its not lost if usps shows its in portland or at 10:57 pm yesterday. apologies, empathizing with customer claiming you are also waiting for amazon delivery (true), claiming that amazon was pushing you to use USPS because they had it as having the quickest arrival date (true as i'm typing this even) . so far its working ... i'm done selling for holiday delivery and turned things off. getting to be a riot at ups store with people finding out how much it costs to ship something on time right now.

  42. I agree, but have had some hiccups with this when the package is not ever marked "delivered". Once it is marked delivered, even if it is 2 months late, you can get the A to Z reversed if you bought shipping from Amazon. Just make sure to ship on time and get a scan within 48 hours of label creation. I pretty much shutdown MF and Ebay a week ago after seeing the delays from the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. What a mess. My FBA inbound stuff has shifted to a warehouse nearby and is getting checked in very fast the past 10 days. Right now, I can send in an FBA shipment and get products sold faster than USPS can deliver an order! Amazon's own delivery service has been performing well from my experience.
