Curious how in-store stocks are holding up since it seems that many online sources are drying up -- good for resellers and any of us LLQF's LEGO SAH makes it easy to breakdown by price and what's in stock (once you eliminate the items that are not buildable sets -- i.e. STEM kits, EV3 modules, etc... that still show in the list even though you specify "Sets" in the filter). Here's their status (US market) as I measured: Price Range, Sets Available, As a Percent >$100: 18, 23% $75 to $100: 13, 19% $50 to $75: 17, 26% $25 to $50: 27% (stopped screening buildable sets, and just divided available into avail+sold out+backordered) <$25: 36% (includes key chains, dots, etc...) So, looking at the serious sets >$50, that's less than 50 sets across all themes. If SAH is the canary in the coal mine, I would expect the other B&M retailers to sell out soon. I suppose on another positive note, it should be easy to identify the turds I'll add some of the B&M online stocks: Amazon ("LEGO", sold by Amazon.com, building sets, Prime eligible, LEGO Brand): 313 sets, 104 over $50*** Walmart ("LEGO", retailer Walmart.com, building sets and toys, Deliver to Home eligible): 281 sets, 77 over $50*** Target ("LEGO", building sets, shipping available): 334 sets, 93 over $50*** *** Note: doesn't include sets on sale <$50 that are RRP >$50 I'll try to update this list again every few days to see how the supply is holding up.16 points

The idea was to see how much variety was available at various stores -- not necessarily what was happening to any one particular set. So, a two sets might come in stock, and one might go out of stock -- so the count would increase by one. LEGO SAH has pricing tiers to judge how the more valuable sets may be holding up. The other three B&M stores I'm tracking is split for $50 and above to weed out the low-end stuff and most of the non-buildable sets that may not be in high-demand during the holidays. The idea being, the levels are already pretty low, and will they go lower? If so, the supply/demand would favor the reseller for the next few weeks. I just find the numbers interesting -- we sometimes tend to focus on particular sets or how things "seem" and I like to put some quantitative numbers on it. My real job is in engineering so that's what I do. Drives my wife crazy most of the time4 points

Oh yeah and instead of gently placing it into the box, you can Jordan it from across the room. (or you young folk can yell Kobe, but you don't miss when you yell Jordan) $150 on what? Educational Lego... no thanks4 points

To be fair, this is the only problem I have had since September. Everything else works more or less like Paypal, except I do not have to login to Paypal to transfer money, deal with disputes, etc etc2 points

No doubt that it’s sealed. SNAD is a toss up here but you’re likely looking at accepting a return plus the cost of shipping and then there’s the issue if the buyer used a hair dryer and resealed it with mega blocks and dirty socks putting you in the position of having to break the seals in order to inspect it.2 points

Another 3 diner's canceled. Another 3 sets of promos in the warehouse. Each time it comes back, the limit resets. To everyone: You'll notice in your order history that if you're not above the $35 free shipping threshold that you're going to be hit with a $4.95 shipping charge. Don't be a fool and call about it and bring attention to this. Just eat the $4.95 as the cost of business.1 point

I haven’t seen anything with those numbers. I remember when the second series came out, there was a big gap in numbers that was eventually back filled. My list goes up to 114. Given the recent contest to pick Brickheadz #150, it looks like we will be getting quite a few more.1 point

I'm just really super confused by this thread. Can someone walk me thru it using specific sets as examples?1 point

Thank you. I'll do just that. That's a better approach. I was going to say all the mumble jumble about him being a new buyer and me being paranoid.1 point

Apollo Lunar Lander is available (you all know you can sign up to receive emails when something comes back in stock, right?). Dang, that was what I wanted to buy to get the skating rink and instead bought other stuff. Now I've got TWO $150+ orders to explain to the spouse...1 point

Maybe they are getting their last shipment on that date? Maybe it'll be around for 10 years. This is TLG's world, and we are just living in it.1 point

Cost of doing business. On Amazon a buyer can open the set, build part of it, trash the retail box and throw it all back in the shipping box and return it.1 point

This is why I'm done selling big sets on eBay (for the most part). I'll take the profit hit and sell locally unless the hit is too big. Sorry to read about this.1 point

Go to "Payments" tab, and on the left side click "Reports". You should be able to download transaction report as csv file for a specific range of time. The report has detailed breakdown of fees for each transaction. Although it does not have Item Name, just Item ID Everyone should send Comments to eBay asking them to add Item Name to these reports. Use the "Comments" link on the upper right of the page. They should be able to add Item Name very easily to the reports and if everyone send them a message they might do it quickly too1 point
