After seeing the latest Target deals in the Daily LEGO Deals – USA thread, I was able to get the last Whomping Willow, Passenger train (for personal build, used a $10 gift card from another Lego promotion, sorry to the person who tried to hide this set) and Slave I at my local Target this week. Everything else worth getting was long gone. I would have not necessary known about these deals if it was not for the BP community and would have not been able to act on them so quickly. In this time of Thanksgiving, thank you BP community for posting these deals for everyone and for the community this site brings every day! I appreciate being a part of this great place.6 points

I was listening to Jeremy Jahns' review of the last episode and he brought up a very good point. Luke and Ahsoka need to have a conversation. Ahsoka is the only one alive who knows Luke's parents and can tell him about them. On the other hand, Luke can ease Ahsoka's guilt by telling her how Anakin was redeemed at the end. If Filoni / Favreau can show that scene on screen, I might be willing to forgive Disney for the whole trilogy fiasco3 points

lol Mando's one and only task is to keep this kid company for as many seasons as possible1 point

I think the bit that irritates me is that the focus stays on Mando and Grogu. There’s only so much narrative and dramatic tension you can get when one character doesn’t speak and the other never removes his helmet. GoT ruined me for wide sweeping character-based stories that shocked and fascinated us with choices/ fates of characters and it certainly isn’t fair to hold this show up to that standard, but we’re dealing with a SW universe just as complex and unique and it seems a waste to just randomly through in bits of it without actually developing any of it.1 point

If Luke were recast, the popular opinion is Sebastian Stan. As for Thrawn, Lars Mikkelsen voiced him in Rebels, and could look the part easily. BUT I agree with you about introducing parts of the universe to see how well it does. So I doubt we’ll get Ashoka again, in the Mandalorian. This is the Mandalorian’s story, and Gorgu’s story. This isn’t Rebels, Part 2. In its usual Star Wars way, it’s a little bit of fan service to bring her in, and tell us where we are in the narrative - last we saw of Ashoka was at the end of Jedi (per Rebels flash forward), where she was going to go look for Thrawn and Ezra. So, 5 years later, she is still on that quest. That’s throwing a bone to us. Everyone is very concerned that we’re going to see Luke or Ezra answer the call at the Jedi Temple, but Ashoka said that it’s Gorgu’s choice to make if he even wants to make the call. Maybe he gets there and decides he’d rather stay with Mando, and instead we get their continuing adventures.1 point

...and ofcourse can't under-estimate the appeal of ugly Christmas sweaters...seriously, there should be a variant in every advent1 point

I don’t see Luke being recast for this series and I think given the plot of the final three films, calling him a “Jedi” is a stretch. I think what we’re witnessing here is Disney using The Mandalorian as vehicle to introduce new series and establish plot points to see what plays well with audiences. I have a suspicion that Grogu’s narrative is being developed as a way of introducing the Obi Wan series (e.g. we get a flash back of Obi Wan hiding the child as a bridge to his series)and likely some more tangent connections to Boba Fett at some point. All and all these are good things as what SW needs desperately are new stories , new narratives and hitching a ride on The Rebels story arc serves that purpose well. I wonder who is a good enough actor to play Thrawn? I’m also guessing Ezra will make some sort of return as well?1 point

Maybe, it says TOOS on Lego.com, but it's not on the retirement list. Sidenote: Every Creator Expert set on Lego.com is OOS except Old Trafford and London Bus.1 point

Good point. For me, I don’t like the two buildings on the side. They are very smooshed together. And while it may look good with other modulars on either side, I also think the buildings should stand alone. You never know when this will be someone’s first modular. I generally don’t like multiple buildings on one plate. I’d rather see a single building expanded to the full size of the plate. That’s why I’m not a fan of the Bookshop or Pet Shop. I do like Assembly Square, but feel that was trying to celebrate the 10th anniversary, along with having a larger foot print. It’s also a little too generic looking to me, I think. Grand Emporium, Palace Cinema, Diner - they all are fairly unique. Maybe I’m getting spoiled seeing the great MOCs people come up, but I always feel like LEGO should be a cut above even the best MOCs out there. And this one just seems a little too MOC to me. Not that MOCs are bad, but LEGO’s should be a cut above.1 point

This is absolutely true. They are also re-releasing 10210 Imperial Flagship due to a letter I wrote to Santa explaining how it's really the only thing left on my "want" list.1 point
