I dug through my order emails. Looks like they started right after midnight Pacific time. Parisian Restaurant for $89 and Betrayal at Cloud City was 50% off. There were some anticipated deals but many showed up out of the blue and caught many wallets off guard. page 1098 of this thread starts the story.3 points

Can also keep and sell as is w/ damage, return them, part-out. Lots of options I'm getting Kohls orders of 15 things ordered and 15 shipments. Some in a box, some in non-padded mailers. Boxed ones are perfect, mailers are smashed. I'll probably just part them out. For target, got some rockets that look like a cleaver hit it before it was packaged. Again, I'll decide later what to do with it, but will probably open them, inspect, and sell at a discount 3 years from now or part them out. In other news, I got a Great Hall today from Target. It was wrapped with about 20ft of bubble wrap, put inside a very large box, and then that box was put inside an even larger box. All that for 1 Great Hall, when they could have shipped all 5 in the first box they put this in, w/o needing the bubble wrap. If anyone wants a job out there, it would be logistics in how to ship packages to save money on shipping costs. Between Target and Kohls this year and even B&N, they are all paying WAY to much to ship their orders.2 points

The story is great, the structure though . . . It “feels” like a plotted video game story arc from one chapter to the next revealing one small bit of the quest with only snippets of character building thrown in. It may well be what the Star Wars universe needs but it is still quite the departure from a traditional tv show. take this episode, each scene played out like a “choose your path” drop down menu in a game, which is interesting if you’re playing the game because it gives you the option to create a path but we know that Mando wasn’t going to kill Ashoka for the Beskar spear so it didn’t really have much dramatic weight behind it. That, and Michael Biehen’s feint at the end didn’t really matter or Ashoka “I will test him and agree to train him, but I won’t” response. Maybe the writers know the audience and selected this structure purposefully.2 points

Wow, This DS crap took place way back in 2016 - From age 49-53 in the blink of an eye. Time seems to fly sometimes when we are younger, but it certainly seems a lot more relevant as the years go by.2 points

They will exchange or refund. They don't really have any desire to give further discounts.1 point

Yes, glue residue with white spirit. Lots of fun to be had! 😎 Lego does not always mark sets retiring soon when they actually are. Think I was caught out a few years ago by that.1 point

Imagine very last minute of season finale. The guy stands in silence as Mando approaches him while handing baby Yoda to him. The guy turns around to show his face. Cut the scene "It rhymes"1 point

I said the child's name out loud and my 8 year old son asked if that was a Star Wars character. That's good enough for me to like the new name.1 point

:lights please: This is going to come off as more snarky than I mean it to, but another good way to get around bans is to not get banned in the first place. A place explicitly against resellers like Target, you're playing with fire by placing tons of orders. It's generally a good idea to try to avoid drawing attention to yourself (and other resellers) to avoid changes in policies and such that make things harder for everyone. I mean, it's great people can get around bans and whatnot, and get free Promos by exploiting loopholes with backordered items, etc - But when people start actively LOOKING to exploit these things (SAH Promos, Kohl's Cash freebies, etc) - Eventually they are going to catch on and make changes, usually for the worse for all involved. Target not all that long ago was reseller friendly, as an example. The same could be said for other places that have tightened up like B&N. They didn't make these changes for no good reason. Just try to follow the stated policies and use a moderate amount of self restraint and it will be good for you, and for others in the same boat. And then you don't have to worry about getting around bans. :gets off soap box:1 point

I don't know what experience you've had but in 30+ years of investing I have only seen one stock I own disappear (not go to zero, but actually disappear). When the USA gov't "took over" GM. Everyone holding GM stock had it taken away from them and all the employees of GM gained brand new stock without having to spend a dime. Thank you Fed Gov't and Pres. Obama. By the way, normally when a company goes through bankruptcy, most of the time they will reorg the existing stock with a reverse split (I.E. for every 5 shares you get 1 share). But the gov't didn't do this. They literally caused GM to cease to exist and then created a new company called GM and issued brand new shares of stock to people of their choosing. None of which included former stock holders. I'm not rich by any means and if I knew that was their plan, I would have sold the several hundred shares of GM stock I owned at the time. For comparison, I also bought Ford at the same time and tripled my money not including the regular dividend they paid. There are way more examples of stocks going up than down. Stocks may go down like last Feb/Mar, but if you bought in last March then you're money ahead.1 point

If you look at threads from back then, people believed in the elves first run. Some were also on permasale from kmart and using magic made them 70% off or better. Ah, the days of free lava and water dragons. And half price cargo trains To add: I think the only ones that people were hesitant about was the big castle that was 50% off at many walmarts forever and the pegasus sleigh. Dragon sanctuary among others had shorter runs (elvendale school I think too) which helped, plus each dragon was only in one set.1 point

Like Curiosity Rover and Town Hall. Who saw those retiring and they are worth mad coin now. Who predicted the Elves theme to be big sellers? Meanwhile the 41999 4x4 Crawler, which was a hyped "Limited Edition" keeps limping along.1 point
