  1. FBM is completely different beast than FBA. If selling is a video game, FBA is like fighting mid level bosses. They are kind of tough but you can predict when they come. On the other hand, FBM is like fighting little peons. They are not that hard but they come in groups, wave after wave after wave. After about 100 of those, you start questioning your choices in life.

  2. Rumors are that the along with their change in packaging from plastic to paper, Lego is taking an ecologically sensitive approach to the diner as well. The revamped Diner will feature more vegan options including Impossible burgers. That's all I can say at the moment. Stay tuned.

  14. i am 100% fbm this year and many listings, the lowest price FBA shows the item arriving in early January - whether or not this is accurate this is what the buyer is seeing. starting to hit some out of the money prices on sets just because my shipping time is favorable. so if you are selling FBM, you aren't competing on price alone, you're really starting to compete on "will my item arrive in time for holidays or not" with some of the lower priced fba sellers. something to think about when you contemplating undercutting lowest fba to make a sale - its not necessary .

  16. The address ban was from earlier this year, July, when i was flipping sets on Amazon. The volume was 7-8 orders on 3 accounts a day. With orders under 300-400$. Relatively minimal, considering two years ago I placed orders for 600 Iron Golems, 120 B Wings, 600 Sh*tter Robots, etc. I suspect my accounts were flagged from high volume last Christmas. Target has a fraud team according to customer service rep's i spoke to on the phone, who research and determine reseller activity. It's pretty hard to avoid being spotted if you are a mid sized reseller. Imagine the number of people who buy over 5000$ of Lego from Target, 10K from Target, 20k? Run a query and you can see the top 100 people who ordered Lego from Target. Target has more aggressively filtered "fraudulent addresses" as well. I'd open multiple accounts with variant addresses. Sometime in the summer Target data corrected all my variants to the USPS standard address (probably another reason I was flagged). This spring I'm going to setup a more robust method for buyer account protection to maintain longevity in this business. Companies are going to continue to become more and more strict. They will begin to get smarter as well. With the improvements in capturing data and data processing, fraud or unwanted buyers are very easy to spot.

  19. Get to buy some LEGO with that cash! May not be a terrible deal in the end. Last time Walmart stocked I was able to get 1 pretty easy (relatively), so I would definitely try that on the 25th. Yesterday at Best Buy it was similar but not sure if they will restock for BF. The queuing system they implemented worked pretty well I think.

  22. here's the new piece of information...LEGO realizes that they don't actually need to hold to some archaic standard of "production capabilities"..."Perceived Scarcity is good for business; the new players are "Preorder Peter": Great forecaster of a popularity and killer of early scarcity...the hero of fans who detest waiting in lines and spending money they haven't earned yet "TOOS Timmy": the great cry baby who allows LEGO to to keep 3x the "production capabilities" than past years...TOOS to perpetuity: TOOS Tim is the maker and breaker of Perceived Scarcity. LEGO Shop at Home's best friend.

  23. makes no sense...on any level if re-releasing modulars was ever a plan...why Diner out of so many better possibilities? if it's laziness (logistical efficiency)...ie re-releasing a set that they can readily produce...but then why even retire it? it's not like LEGO made any kind of binding "promise"..and ofcourse plenty of examples of reneging on "hard to find" retiring soon" labels. This is not like the Saturn V which was brought back due to "popularity"...I don;t think that was ever "the plan" prior to Saturn's retirement. The ONLY reason I can think of is a strategic offensive against resellers

  27. nothing official released yet but from what it looks like would just be 20 off sets this year. Think the daily thing is a no go to avoid big crowds lining up daily with the rona. Stores got hit super hard this year on the early weekend. Like harder than BF hard. That's a hard dickens. Should know something mid week hopefully. Each year it gets closer and closer think last year was just a few days before.

  30. I think its gone. ITs just not as popular as other modulars. I did some research into ranked lists of modulars and i think most ppl had this at #7 or #8 of best modular in the series. It also doesnt quite fit the look of the series stylistically. Why the heck would they keep this one?

  32. Those were such great deals. I ordered so much that when I went in to pick it up, the clerk helping me said "Oh, so you're [FILL IN NAME]" and then 3 or 4 others standing around were like "we were wondering about you." And that happened in a few stores.

  42. exactly. why retire it when they still banging them out. just leave it on the shelf. if the route lego is going down is to instantly re release retired sets, lego is finished. i'm calling bollox anyway, if it gets extended thats 1 thing, to retire it then bring it back within weeks is pathetic a lot of the Chinese whispers is just plain attention seeking.

  45. My ban had a time that it when into effect and any previous orders continued to be fulfilled. Some even took two months to get stock to ship. However, my wife has learned she can make pickup orders. She created a new account with a new credit card and a new email that Target has never seen before. Also, pickup doesn’t need your shipping address — even for the credit card. I guess they aren’t relying on IP addresses either. So, she’s had a few grocery orders go through for curbside pickup with no problems. Goes without saying not to use any old CC’s with orders on a new account I’m still not placing any LEGO orders on her new account though. I got us banned from online shipping orders and it took a while to get out of that doghouse... On a different topic, I’m glad people are not getting their Dickens smashed to hell. Sometimes the packing can get a little tight.

  47. Found a couple Great Halls in stock at my local Target. The app showed that they had none in stock. Right after I grabbed the two a Target employee came by with their shopper cart they use to grab things to ship looking for them. I am guessing that once they sell them online it updates the app to say they have none in store even though they may still be there for a bit. I told her that I had just grabbed the last two there, sorry. She said no worries, they will just cancel from the online order they were shopping for. Sorry if your order of 2 GH gets canceled!
