  1. Lego Christmas Tree (not mine)

  2. One more build by me. A few months ago I stumbled upon some digital renderings made by Reddit user u/brxstr of a Back-to-the-Future DMC DeLorean, which looked fantastic. He/she had (has?) the Stud.io file available on Rebrickable.com, so I downloaded it and planned to build it. In doing my due diligence I found out that the model was originally designed by user Troelskf on Brickshelf, so I want to make sure (s)he gets credit as well. I ended up redoing large parts of the design for several reasons: Part availability and cost. Several parts were very expensive (the F40 windscreen for example) so I came up with alternative solutions for those. Stability and Buildability. As the design has never been built IRL, certain parts of the design looked great in Stud.io, but did not work in the brick. For example, the click hinges for the shaping on the back were originally positioned right in between two clicks, which meant there was an ugly gap. The doors were so flimsy in their original design, they would fall apart when touched lightly. Operability. The doors were not opening in the original design, as there was no tolerance for the swing movement (they looked great opened and closed, but would have to be removed and reassembled to change them from opened to closed. The lid for Mr Fusion could not be opened for similar reasons. Improved looks. I completely redesigned the dashboard, adding more and more detailed instrumentation. I changed the gear lever and created a different flux capacitor design. I modified the hose work around the engine, and redesigned the back section to make it look more like the BttF version, including custom license plate. Generating instructions. The original file was a purely digital design, with no consideration for building the set with real bricks. I spent many hours redesigning the build sequence and creating detailed, step by step instructions. They are almost complete (Isn't it wonderful that if you move a part from one step to another in Stud.io, it decides to undo all the call-outs in the instructions which in turn leads to page layouts resetting?). I still have one change to make but then the 300+ page instructions are ready. Here is the final product. Hope you like it. More pictures in my Flickr album (https://www.flickr.com/photos/129210197@N05/with/50605610828/). Total cost was ~$200 (US), but I had most of the common parts on hand. Would likely be closer to $300 if all 1600+ parts had to be purchased.

  7. My wife and I enjoyed this episode a lot. Fun fact: Bryce Dallas Howard directed this and also Season 1 episode of "Sanctuary" featuring that creepy AT-ST and introducing Cara Dune. She has a knack for setting up episodes with great characters being introduced and also some more emotional moments too. I just read that she once had a dinner with her father, George Lucas, and Akira Kurosawa as a kid. Holy moly.

  8. I literally just search ‘lego’ and filter for availability and priced low to high. It should give you everything they offer and I find the sale additions as you scroll. Just something to do during my number 2 time...but perhaps that wasn’t part of the question.

  9. Eh, I guess my post would not make sense without this real image from SW writer rooms' brainstorm session. I was trying to emulate one of those "writer" during one of these sessions

  13. So, I just had one of my largest BL orders ever. Buyer in France bought the following from me so far: 75294 Bespin Duel x2 77904 Nebulon-B Frigate x2 77905 Taskmaster's Ambush x2 77906 Wonder Woman x2 He wants all the Comic-Con sets and was willing to pay over $700 for all of them. I want to double check to see that it's not a scam of sorts but does anyone have any advice on what to use to ship these guys to France? I've sent stuff there via USPS but I'm talking like a single set, much less EIGHT of these.

  16. Box damage on my frigate. Almost looks like water damage. Another casualty to a foam mailer instead of a box. I'll list it at a discount to get rid of it yet still make a profit. Edit - sold. Geesh. $89 free ship.

  23. I just binged the first three eps of the second season last night. I just loved Appa (from Kim's Convenience) as an X-wing pilot. This show is great.

  24. Filoni is great and he understands Star Wars but he gets a little too obsessed with boring clones and his episodes tend to be repetitive. Favreau kicked off the MCU with Iron Man and he's the guy I want in charge of Star Wars.

  26. This show is better than all the Disney Star Wars movies combined. They should remake the sequel trilogy with Jon Favreau in charge.

  28. Was hoping this would be available for the Dicken's and Green Brick promo on 11/21, but with a release date of 11/15, I don't think it will last until then.

  29. Sold 30x 77905 Taskmasters Ambush for $2550 cash ($85 per) to a picker who messaged me after seeing my post in the 77905 thread. These may go higher, they may stagnate, but I'll never turn down double my investment the same day...in cash.

  31. I just received my biggest bricklink order (size wise). It's 3500+ pieces in 252 unique lots. I have no clue where to start to check that everything I ordered is there. I know...first world problems.

  32. I got my package from Fedex but it almost turned into a disaster... see I left my garage open as I headed out to fill up the tank and get some gas for the lawn mower. In that 10 min span, Fedex came by. I saw the truck so figured he stopped by but when I pulled in, I saw nothing on the front stoop. Ok, odd, but whatever, maybe the next time he swings by the street will be my turn. An hour passes and I get the email that my package had been delivered. I was still in the front yard and he never came by again so now I was like... Son of a B, he got the wrong house. I checked all my neighbors, but nothing. Then I tell my wife and she just happens to see a box under the car that I used. The dummy of a guy, but the box in my GARAGE where we Park the vehicles. Not all the way up by the door in the garage but somewhere in between. Who does that? Turns out I hit the box and my front bumper just pushed it along as it was stuck underneath the vehicle and I had to back the car up to get the box out. Thankfully only the box had damage to it as the contents inside were saved but my oh my. If any Drivers read this.... Don't be Cute, just put the box at the front door as expected or anywhere else that vehicles don't go. I'm looking for children or other things, not a box that is super low to the ground, when pulling into my own garage.
