Anyone made a comment about the two 1x1 bricks with holes for Technic pins down the one side of Hooper's? They are not in the correct spots for the modular house standard style of connection. Although I believe I saw the piece (color & type) used in a couple other spots of the build meaning their usage could be a matter of simplifying production, that specific sort of construction leads me to think this is but the first of the street to be released. I assume the other half of Hooper's followed by whatever was down the alley.4 points

Kermit’s rights are owned by Disney, not Children’s Television Workshop, where Sesame lives.4 points

Interesting. Hadn’t noticed that until you said it. The laundry mat and repair shop are to the left of Mr Hooper’s shop. (And yes, I watched when Mr Hooper was still alive)2 points

I went down the rabbit hole one night a few years ago. Kermit and Grover (and especially their interactions) were my favorite as a kid. When my daughter started watching, I looked into why Kermit rarely showed up in modern episodes. If I remember right, they can use Kermit in a limited capacity - the occasional reused skit/clip from years ago. But they can’t do anything new with him. I’m pretty sure that was the result of Disney buying “The Muppets” which is specially Kermit, Fozzy, etc from the Muppet Show and beyond. The while Disney misusing the Muppets and not being able to do something with them is a whole other topic....2 points

wow...I learn the darnest things on this forum..about "LEGO reselling"2 points

Fair enough, and I mean no offense, but auctionbrokers you said that "apparently Lego has taken a lot of heat from this." Some of that heat was you calling them at least three times to talk about the situation. If nobody ever did that, they wouldn't worry about Amazon and trying to cancel orders that some of us made. This is kindof a theme over the years here. Some resellers can't help themselves, they repeatedly call Lego support or their local store to address their concerns about stock or orders when the better thing is to place your orders and not be real obvious or vocal about it. Don't tip your hand.2 points

I'm not advocating for upset buyers, I am trying to warn resellers concerning the status of this set so they know what may be coming down the pike. As a reseller myself, I know I would want to be aware of this. Also, this was confirmed by three separate reps so I believe that the information is solid. No worries though, next time I will keep it to myself.2 points

Respectfully, this isn't the point of Brickpicker. We're here to "pick" aka buy low and sell high. We're not here to advocate on behalf of all upset customers to make sure everyone gets whatever they want at MSRP. We want upset customers to buy the Frigate from us for 250 dollars after we bought it for 40. When you do things like this, you risk lowering the resale value of this set (although I suspect that this rep is like a lot of other ones and doesn't know what he's talking about).2 points

If I can get $175 steady on EBay, -~$20 Fees, -~$15 Shipping, low chance of return/issues if sold in November/early December works out to $40 profit or so per unit.1 point

We can take bets for a CMF series somewhere down the line. Can't imagine the moulds being used only 1 time but then again we didn't see any reuse of many of the dimensions minifigs like sonic, ET, gremlins, etc.1 point

Got my diagon alleys today in all orders! 😁 I just received a 20% off coupon that can only be used from the 26th Oct, think I will make a few more purchases then.1 point

Muppet Show CMFs would be a great start. The old show and first couple movies were sooooo good. It's not surprising they can't make anything decent with them now. A show/movie with puppets that works well for kids and adults takes some genius talent. Henson was one in a billion. In the 70s Henson was happy to work with sesame Street. Now Disney wants megabucks to allow Kermit a cameo. Evil Empire.1 point

Here I was agreeing with you till you said three reps?? Thank you very much for the info as information is a good as gold around here but.......... You talked to three different reps about this or you were reading on different forums and three other users wrote the same info? because if you called three different times to talk about this then sorry you are the issue.1 point

I think it's going to be a popular set...anyone who saw this with no expectations would love it...obviously for us here who expected Ghostbusters Firehouse..were disappointed.1 point

Contacted a Lego rep to get an update on the Frigate set. I spoke to John and he said that their team that works with Amazon are looking into this matter to find out what happened and to have it rectified. He said the last thing that Lego wants are upset customers who are not able to purchase particular sets because of resellers. I guess Lego has taken a lot of heat about this. John also said that according to his information, the set was not being sold exclusively by Amazon and that it would be available online at Lego Shop and other locations by the beginning of November. He did confirm that the set would only be available for purchase in the USA. He also confirmed that since the set was being sold direct to the public in lieu of the cancellation of the 2020 San Diego Comic-Con, that the quantity in production had been dramatically increased so that as many fans as possible will have the opportunity to purchase it. I am wondering if Amazon didn't actually sell out of the sets, but someone at Amazon just happened to catch the mistake and took down the link. Will be interesting to see if Amazon cancels or limits our orders and if they still have a large quantity in stock to sell come November.1 point

this forum is a "den of thieves"...and as much as we think there's some sort of "Pirate's Code"...every one of us here are competing w/ everyone else. I'm on here daily and actually enjoy the "community"...but I harbor no disillusion that anyone here wouldn't trample me on a bee-line for a 30% sale...I would only hope that the train of shopping carts would not roll over me as well1 point

One thing to realize is that those of us who are in a position to help are in that position because of the time we've put into this and the longevity of our efforts. I certainly had help along the way (I'm still hugely indebted to LegoFanTexas for one key piece of advice he gave years ago and Raven for...well...a bunch of stuff), but no one served everything up to me or anyone that I know on a platter. I'm happy to provide help, but it's unrealistic to expect me or Donbee or anyone else to spell out the specifics on what they're doing and how they're doing it. Besides, there is a certain "survival of the fittest" element to this...the history of this site is littered with people who dive in with great enthusiasm before getting bogged down and quitting because of the amount of work and effort it takes to be successful.1 point

I tried to get more Grand Piano and NES and they cancelled my order for being over the limit from my original orders. They are now tracking it by household and across a time greater than 4 weeks. I can't duplicate orders on wife's account any more or they cancel them for being over the limit. I miss the old days.0 points
