Respectfully, this isn't the point of Brickpicker. We're here to "pick" aka buy low and sell high. We're not here to advocate on behalf of all upset customers to make sure everyone gets whatever they want at MSRP. We want upset customers to buy the Frigate from us for 250 dollars after we bought it for 40. When you do things like this, you risk lowering the resale value of this set (although I suspect that this rep is like a lot of other ones and doesn't know what he's talking about).9 points

What monster over at Lego allowed this set to be number #21324? IT SHOULD BE 21234!!! This explains why the Count isn't in the set, he probably stormed off!9 points

Let’s get back to the deals, and we can move this discussion....somewhere else please.7 points

the post did not suggest any sort of advocation...it was informative...let's not cast stones at the messenger (they are this forums most valuable assets)7 points

Here I was agreeing with you till you said three reps?? Thank you very much for the info as information is a good as gold around here but.......... You talked to three different reps about this or you were reading on different forums and three other users wrote the same info? because if you called three different times to talk about this then sorry you are the issue.5 points

Fair enough, and I mean no offense, but auctionbrokers you said that "apparently Lego has taken a lot of heat from this." Some of that heat was you calling them at least three times to talk about the situation. If nobody ever did that, they wouldn't worry about Amazon and trying to cancel orders that some of us made. This is kindof a theme over the years here. Some resellers can't help themselves, they repeatedly call Lego support or their local store to address their concerns about stock or orders when the better thing is to place your orders and not be real obvious or vocal about it. Don't tip your hand.5 points

Hmm, possible future CMF series? Just like The Simpsons before, why make new molds just to be used for 1 set?4 points

Yeah, I don't understand their thought process here. Reduce size of set to make it more palatable as a toy for kids purchase, but then slap 18+ on the box? Really think they should have gone full-on modular.4 points

Winner, winner. Chicken dinner. The 18+ thing aside, this price tag is worth it just for the minifigures alone (assuming they're not released in some other form/set down the road). Would love to see a GWP of The Count minifigure at release.4 points

I'm not advocating for upset buyers, I am trying to warn resellers concerning the status of this set so they know what may be coming down the pike. As a reseller myself, I know I would want to be aware of this. Also, this was confirmed by three separate reps so I believe that the information is solid. No worries though, next time I will keep it to myself.3 points

I agree. I think LEGO is overdoing this whole "18+" designation they started with this year.3 points

Right in the nostalgia. A very colorful and decently sized build with a good selection of characters. I realize the "18+" is for build complexity or whatnot. However it makes me think who's the special quest on the show this time? Dave Chappelle?2 points

Looks like two sets would be enough to make a modular. I'll take a shot at it once it goes on sale.2 points

I like it. For some reason I thought there were rumors that this set would be $400 (iirc the original submission was much bigger). I don't have a $400 passion for sesame street but I might do $120. But I can see why others might be disappointed2 points

They included Slimey. A brick built Mr. Snuffleupagus would have been great.1 point

Oh, I get that they're different. I was responding to a Q in the first post: "what does anyone else call this piece?" Truncated Cone just doesn't sounds as fun as Mini Fez...1 point

Damn, LEGO Retail must have gotten in some extra help. Over the last 3-4 weeks, I had 4 LEGO Shop at Home orders and 3 Brick and Pieces orders waiting to be shipped. 3 of the 4 LEGO Shop at Home and the 3 Brick and Pieces orders were all shipped last night. Only the Batwing order remains. So buck-up if you are waiting on orders, especially parts.1 point

Coincidentally, I just created a new case for this item last night. That listing ASIN (B07KRJT3S2) you referenced is not the right one as the listing quality is really poor (only one picture, no reviews, no description). I am trying to get Amazon to reinstate the original listing ASIN (B075NTXK8H). I created a case and we'll see but I doubt if anything comes of it. If there was a way to band together somehow to deal with these Amazon catalog item issues, I would sign up in a heartbeat as sometimes I can get things fixed but the problem is staying on Amazon CS long enough before they auto-close the case.1 point

I'm really impressed by the brick built Snuffleupagus. More impressed that they found a way to make it where you need to look through the Big Bird figures eyes to see him.1 point

This looks like one of those sets I'd never stock up on to resell and then Lego short stocks it and it triples in value.1 point

Contacted a Lego rep to get an update on the Frigate set. I spoke to John and he said that their team that works with Amazon are looking into this matter to find out what happened and to have it rectified. He said the last thing that Lego wants are upset customers who are not able to purchase particular sets because of resellers. I guess Lego has taken a lot of heat about this. John also said that according to his information, the set was not being sold exclusively by Amazon and that it would be available online at Lego Shop and other locations by the beginning of November. He did confirm that the set would only be available for purchase in the USA. He also confirmed that since the set was being sold direct to the public in lieu of the cancellation of the 2020 San Diego Comic-Con, that the quantity in production had been dramatically increased so that as many fans as possible will have the opportunity to purchase it. I am wondering if Amazon didn't actually sell out of the sets, but someone at Amazon just happened to catch the mistake and took down the link. Will be interesting to see if Amazon cancels or limits our orders and if they still have a large quantity in stock to sell come November.1 point

The Batwing went live at 10:55 CST. When I ordered mine, since the day hadn't officially ended, it awarded me double VIP points and the Robot giveaway. Let's see if that last once a human takes a look at it.1 point

It's okay, they each got stickered tiles, that's just as good, right?0 points
