Here is a starting handful of "super heavy investment in parts" starcrusiers for your perusal from this year's SHIPtember building event with more to be posted in due time. Apologies for not uploading last year's designs. After this I will go back and sort that out. Ask them if you can call before shipping. Most people are fine with that if they just spent $4003 points

When you buy a used lot that has quite a few great disassembled sets in a big tub, but as you are going through sorting it out, every minifigure has had their arms, hands or legs or a combination of the above removed and lost.... or "colored" with a marker. Luckily there is enough in my latest purchase to sell without the minifigures and still make a good profit, but oh what it could have been if the minifigures weren't destroyed.3 points

I just received shipping notifications from WM for the six Winter Village Fire Stations that I was able to order yesterday. They briefly popped back in stock for about 5-10 minutes yesterday afternoon at $57.xx/each. I wasn’t very confident that they would actually ship.3 points

Not sure how much stuff you sell on ebay. But this type of thing happens from time to time. And I find it not worth the hassle and also not worth getting bad reviews. I usually just make the customer happy. So if it ends up costing me an additional $40 per year in crap like this then I just consider that part of the cost of doing business. Just like retailers factor in a certain amount of theft into their business projections. It sucks but I sell enough stuff that in the big scheme of things it's not worth the hassle or bad press if the buyer was to leave bad feedback. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth (2 cents).1 point

It's all random. I just have specific saved searches on every venue that make my random, less random. This was a total of 3 eBay purchases a few weeks ago for about $220 total. I put the figures in my Bricklink store, and the sets will end on eBay or Mercari. I also have a 10188 Death Star and 8039 Venator that I grabbed off of Facebook for $150 that me and the kids are building. I only check my searches 3 times a day on eBay and Mercari, facebook when I'm feeding the baby at night, and Craigslist sends emails each time something is listed. Just random. While I do grab new sets by the cart full...there is something calming about being able to look at a lot and already know the profit margin.1 point

Received my 2 Shanghai sets from WM today I bought on 10/15 for $42.97 each. They sent 2 LEGO shipping boxes w/ 3 sets in each box. Not going to complain. I like sets that cost $15.50 each.1 point

I pulled the trigger on bulk vintage legos from an estate sale auction. Paid $212 and was hoping for some good surprises. I knew the lot was worth what I paid based on the pictures but was hoping to get lucky. I think I did. Sets with instructions: 6972, 6895, 6990 (box too), 6985, 6085, 6274, 6270, 6276, 6392, 6039, 8845, 8815, 6054, 6066, 6941, 6952, 8040. 7 totes of various sizes full, so who knows what else. Lots of work ahead, but lots of fun and profit for my son and me!1 point

Just to add to this... I recently had a sale, and I received a message just after being picked up that the address was incorrect. USPS has a "package intercept" option, and I tried it for the first time. I was given the options of returning to sender or hold at local post office for pickup. I paid ~$15 for original shipping, package intercept is $14.65 + additional ~$9 postage to send to the closest post office for pickup (30 mins away from incorrect address). So total shipping costs to have this corrected was near $39. Quite a rip, in my opinion. It does indeed sound like the buyer's fault for misunderstanding the "no longer available" email.0 points
