these were available for shop at home for more than 3 months at $7.50 during double vip + promos. i bought way too many. after 3 years, i have sold 8 at $24.99. now the price is down to $19.99 and only heading lower now, these are crazy slow sellers on amazon. even worse than the LEGO VIP promo.lol. i lost more money on fba storage and then return fees than i ever made on these the 1 time i was stupid enough to send these in to FBA. IPI wrecker. i donated 12 last year and have way too many sitting on a shelf to flood the market the second they make it back to $24.99. good luck with these.2 points

I finished the set 2 weeks ago. Followed the directions 99%. Really cool build. Will likely have a UCS release w/in 18 months I bet. Just couldn’t bring myself to having the carbonite chamber so close to the sleeping quarters. The top escape hatch was a really cool play feature added by Lego. Also likes that extra light goes into the cargo area when it’s removed.2 points

This is correct. I was able to get in three orders of two each. Hopefully they don’t get cancelled. I got the same email alert but they went quick. The good news is that they keep popping back in and out of stock.1 point

It's all random. I just have specific saved searches on every venue that make my random, less random. This was a total of 3 eBay purchases a few weeks ago for about $220 total. I put the figures in my Bricklink store, and the sets will end on eBay or Mercari. I also have a 10188 Death Star and 8039 Venator that I grabbed off of Facebook for $150 that me and the kids are building. I only check my searches 3 times a day on eBay and Mercari, facebook when I'm feeding the baby at night, and Craigslist sends emails each time something is listed. Just random. While I do grab new sets by the cart full...there is something calming about being able to look at a lot and already know the profit margin.1 point

$75 Black Pearls (and sometimes lower) were nice but Technic is such a slow sell though.1 point

Received my 2 Shanghai sets from WM today I bought on 10/15 for $42.97 each. They sent 2 LEGO shipping boxes w/ 3 sets in each box. Not going to complain. I like sets that cost $15.50 each.1 point

Gotta love offer up. 1/3 rd of sellers are parents dumping loose bricks for a steal, 1/3rd are actually moving stolen sets, 1/3rd are complete fools thinking they can rob you. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum1 point

YMMV but I've had some success directing buyers to BrickLink, BrickOwl, or ebay with a price adjusted for the fees and shipping. Either they're willing to pay a premium over the CL price and use a payment method that gives you some fraud protection or it's not worth the sale.1 point

OfferUp, lady is selling a 70620 Ninjago City, posted about 15 hours ago. Tag on the ad says selling for $250, description says $240. A bit high for me, so I send a note saying if she doesn't get a buyer that that price, I'll throw down a standing offer of $200. Not long after, she messages to accept the $200 offer - I was surprised, figured she'd wait a few days on $240. Get to talking about where to meet up, we agree on 230pm today. Then she says "I have two of these by the way." Ooooohhh, OK, I see now - a red flag that is. Look closer at the photo, it's in the back of a car, you can see the 2nd one behind it, and also a third large set but cannot see the set number. So I ask her how she got two and now selling them so cheap. She says her sister bought them for her kids, can't find the receipt to return them, now her sisters car is broke down, needs the money to fix it, and she's stuck in Minneapolis with 5 kids until she can fix the car. OK I tell her, but too many red flags for me, I'm deciding not to buy. Her: "you have a lot of Lego sets for sale on your OfferUp also." Me: "yes, I run a side business of buying and selling, and I have receipts for all 250+ Lego sets I own." Her: "well I don't appreciate you judging me and my sister." Me: "Fair enough, but I'm not buying this today. Good luck" I'm actually building Ninjago City with my kids right now, and it's AWESOME. I'd love to have 2 of these on the shelf at 33% off, but can't support their lifestyle. I'm betting if I called the Lego Store at Mall of America, they'd be two short in the last few days. I think that's the only store in Minneapolis that would carry this set. She now has it listed as "Sold" and I reported it as "I think it's stolen." Also, during this process, for whatever reason, she changed her profile picture in OfferUp. It went from a "trashy tatted girl" theme to a "trashy tatted girl with infant" theme. Be careful (and ethical) out there.0 points
