Saw IN person a pallet of Technic Land Rover for $165 at my local Costco. YMMV I know that's more than IWOOT/ZAVVI...but less rolling of dice4 points

Received my 2 Shanghai sets from WM today I bought on 10/15 for $42.97 each. They sent 2 LEGO shipping boxes w/ 3 sets in each box. Not going to complain. I like sets that cost $15.50 each.3 points

Feeling a little guilty. Bought some sets from a Military Exchange. They came in just a polybag and both came damaged. One worse than the other. Nothing super bad. Just one with a huge crushed corner and the other with a dented one. I inquired what would be my options via live chat. The customer service rep just immediately gave me a full refund. I replied that a full refund was not necessary, as a partial refund would be adequate. She said that it was already put in the system. So now I got both sets for free. I haven't complained about box condition in a long time, in fact most of the time the sets come damaged and I just accept it and move on. In this instance, I noticed the sets just went on sale and was just hoping to get the current sale price. They went on sale a day after I placed my order. I guess I will just order more sets from the store to help even out the karma3 points

I pulled the trigger on bulk vintage legos from an estate sale auction. Paid $212 and was hoping for some good surprises. I knew the lot was worth what I paid based on the pictures but was hoping to get lucky. I think I did. Sets with instructions: 6972, 6895, 6990 (box too), 6985, 6085, 6274, 6270, 6276, 6392, 6039, 8845, 8815, 6054, 6066, 6941, 6952, 8040. 7 totes of various sizes full, so who knows what else. Lots of work ahead, but lots of fun and profit for my son and me!2 points

It's only a better deal if you don't have sales tax in your state since Costco does not do tax exempt transactions on their website.2 points

From Target... a few Claus Brickheadz arrived individually wrapped in Target polybags and the rest were shrink-wrapped!?2 points

this forum is a "den of thieves"...and as much as we think there's some sort of "Pirate's Code"...every one of us here are competing w/ everyone else. I'm on here daily and actually enjoy the "community"...but I harbor no disillusion that anyone here wouldn't trample me on a bee-line for a 30% sale...I would only hope that the train of shopping carts would not roll over me as well2 points

Your purchases of used LEGO sets always impress me even more than the carts of new sets that people post during clearance. Grabbing sets on Ebay and these local purchases baffle my mind because you really have to be on your game to scoop them up. I don't know of anyone on this site who has a more appropriate username. I would at least call them and notify them of the shipping error and see what they suggest. If they say keep it, great deal. If they ask you to return the extras at their cost, I'd do that.1 point

Informative article re: European naming rights for the Razor Crest LEGO set. https://www.holobrickarchive.com/2020/10/whats-in-a-name-how-the-razor-crest-became-the-mandalorian-bounty-hunter-transport/ Question: Did LEGO Europe open pre-orders for the LEGO Razor Crest in April 2020 like it did in North America? If LEGO began taking orders in April 2020, I think the guy in Germany who placed the copywrite on the name "Razor Crest" (5/21/2020) for buildable toys might have a tough time justifying his action. He began selling his buildable set (no pre-orders) in Aug 2020, which may explain LEGO scrambling at the last minute.1 point

People were (are) finding it at 50% off during Wal-Mart clearance, but for most of us, that's not available. I think this price is the cheapest, readily available, price I've seen.1 point

Any word on a GWP? Mini batwing? Not sure how much of a rush I’ll be in if there is no incentive here.1 point

Bought this lot off of OfferUp for $60 because I noticed a "Buckingham Palace" tile in one of the bags in the picture. It ended up being Buckingham Palace, The Louvre, White House (original), and Flintstones set... all 100% complete, without instructions.1 point

OfferUp, lady is selling a 70620 Ninjago City, posted about 15 hours ago. Tag on the ad says selling for $250, description says $240. A bit high for me, so I send a note saying if she doesn't get a buyer that that price, I'll throw down a standing offer of $200. Not long after, she messages to accept the $200 offer - I was surprised, figured she'd wait a few days on $240. Get to talking about where to meet up, we agree on 230pm today. Then she says "I have two of these by the way." Ooooohhh, OK, I see now - a red flag that is. Look closer at the photo, it's in the back of a car, you can see the 2nd one behind it, and also a third large set but cannot see the set number. So I ask her how she got two and now selling them so cheap. She says her sister bought them for her kids, can't find the receipt to return them, now her sisters car is broke down, needs the money to fix it, and she's stuck in Minneapolis with 5 kids until she can fix the car. OK I tell her, but too many red flags for me, I'm deciding not to buy. Her: "you have a lot of Lego sets for sale on your OfferUp also." Me: "yes, I run a side business of buying and selling, and I have receipts for all 250+ Lego sets I own." Her: "well I don't appreciate you judging me and my sister." Me: "Fair enough, but I'm not buying this today. Good luck" I'm actually building Ninjago City with my kids right now, and it's AWESOME. I'd love to have 2 of these on the shelf at 33% off, but can't support their lifestyle. I'm betting if I called the Lego Store at Mall of America, they'd be two short in the last few days. I think that's the only store in Minneapolis that would carry this set. She now has it listed as "Sold" and I reported it as "I think it's stolen." Also, during this process, for whatever reason, she changed her profile picture in OfferUp. It went from a "trashy tatted girl" theme to a "trashy tatted girl with infant" theme. Be careful (and ethical) out there.1 point
