One thing to realize is that those of us who are in a position to help are in that position because of the time we've put into this and the longevity of our efforts. I certainly had help along the way (I'm still hugely indebted to LegoFanTexas for one key piece of advice he gave years ago and Raven for...well...a bunch of stuff), but no one served everything up to me or anyone that I know on a platter. I'm happy to provide help, but it's unrealistic to expect me or Donbee or anyone else to spell out the specifics on what they're doing and how they're doing it. Besides, there is a certain "survival of the fittest" element to this...the history of this site is littered with people who dive in with great enthusiasm before getting bogged down and quitting because of the amount of work and effort it takes to be successful.7 points

so, are we betting that Lego didn't make enough of these for the holiday season, or stocking the shelves for the long haul? So far this year I have bought all the sets that they made plenty of, and none of the sets that they didn't. I am a bit nervous that if I buy my max of 3, it will screw all of you out of a QF because I am cursed.5 points

So, let me get this straight. You are arguing that a company that innovates, employs probably tens of thousands and has worked hard for nearly 80 years is to be chastised because some of their product is marketed at a higher end price range? That opportunistic resellers (of which I am proudly one) are somehow more virtuous or less worthy of scorn than the company that makes what they do even possible? Really? That's the line you're going with? There are in fact some things that don't need to be said.3 points

Some chinese site says it is set 30628 which is a GWP for purchases above 1399rmb. There was a scene of Draco stroking the monster book of monsters, I would have preferred Neville as well. It's a limited edition of 7900 sets. 😄 Pics up on stone wars as well. https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-harry-potter-30628-monster-book-of-monsters/3 points

Feeling a little guilty. Bought some sets from a Military Exchange. They came in just a polybag and both came damaged. One worse than the other. Nothing super bad. Just one with a huge crushed corner and the other with a dented one. I inquired what would be my options via live chat. The customer service rep just immediately gave me a full refund. I replied that a full refund was not necessary, as a partial refund would be adequate. She said that it was already put in the system. So now I got both sets for free. I haven't complained about box condition in a long time, in fact most of the time the sets come damaged and I just accept it and move on. In this instance, I noticed the sets just went on sale and was just hoping to get the current sale price. They went on sale a day after I placed my order. I guess I will just order more sets from the store to help even out the karma2 points

this forum is a "den of thieves"...and as much as we think there's some sort of "Pirate's Code"...every one of us here are competing w/ everyone else. I'm on here daily and actually enjoy the "community"...but I harbor no disillusion that anyone here wouldn't trample me on a bee-line for a 30% sale...I would only hope that the train of shopping carts would not roll over me as well2 points

When I get stuff shipped from Target warehouses in general, it's fine. When I get the crap sent from random stores, it's a disaster.2 points

Went to Yosemite on Saturday. Here's of pic of me and the kids in Yosemite Valley with El Capitan on the left and Half Dome all the way in the back. I haven't been back in 20+ years and it was our kids' first time. We had a great time hiking a few trails. The air quality wasn't great, but it wasn't too bad either. We also got to see a couple of bears (from far away), and one even climbed up a tree! We were surprised at how fast and easy it did it.2 points

They’ve been open since July? I think. For some time now, anyway. I haven’t visited, because they tend to overcharge on the small stuff ($11 for Brickheadz and +$1 on minfigures and polybags). Normally you have to pay for parking and then spend a minimum to get your parking fee back, but they’ve suspended that for now.1 point

Yup, that's exactly what I'm saying to these haters. Deal with it. If I'm following their "logic", LEGO is as "immoral" as we are.1 point

Nobody cares about Timmy! This is business, like every other good or service. I'm sick of these idiots attacking resellers just because the product is LEGO. Grow up! Instead of attacking resellers that make 50% profit, they should attack LEGO for charging $350 for a few pounds of plastic. Who's the real scalper here?! F%&$ing morons! Sorry for the rant, just needed to be said.1 point

Hope this help some folks especially as we go into the holiday season, printing manifest so postal workers don't have to scan multiple packages. I wished I knew this earlier as it would save me and some postal workers some frustration. Go to Order report under the orders tab and click on end of day forms.1 point

For the members who are fairly new and dont' know this forum.. most of the longtime members here have provided fairly honest information. There really isn't much of the bs trying to hurt the competition here. From sharing codes/coupons for shipping materials, dealing with SNAD cases from ebay, walmart clearance, dealing with scammers, all the information I have received from posts or PMs have been immensely useful. For those who feel this forum is full of arrogant false spewing info, they should just go to another forum... my two cents... Also redcell is a koolkat!1 point

The articles describing how Ebay execs went full on crazy over a couple of mom & pop bloggers...have me doubting that high ups in large corporations "don't care" about a measly internet forum. How well guarded the LEGO retirement list/schedule is ...is pretty darn amazeballz in this current day and age. Really the only way to mitigate "leaks" is to have an anti-leak practice of disseminating false info to cover-up the real info. Do I think LEGO is this smart...that's like asking do I think Trump is this smart? Mis-information is the bane of the modern social media Era...1 point

Well, there was this: "I will say this again nobody except the really high up members of the lego group know which set is going or coming, they are heavily guarded secrets. These people wont be posting on brickpicker or any other forums as it wouldn't be worth there time to do so." There's a difference between not revealing one's source and not having a source. Please don't misunderstand me...I was not going for "I'm a superior being" in my last post...that was 100% abrasive a-hole. Two things here. First, you sure spend a lot of time responding to words that mean nothing to you. Second, there is a certain irony in you bemoaning people trying to put others down on the internet while trying to put others down on the internet...well done on that one!1 point

If you don't believe me and think I'm trying to game the competition, then it seems like the smart thing to do would be to buy as many Central Perks as you can afford. Why don't you do that and see how well it works out for you. And, for the record, you really don't know what you're talking about so you should stop pretending like you do.1 point

I highly doubt he knows anymore than the rest of us. Nobody knows what will happen to sets unless your high up in the Lego group. Also don't trust what people say here, most of them just see us as competitors and will give false advise. I've seen it time and time again1 point

his nickname here is redcell and believe it or not, he is here for a little bit longer than you are 👨🏫 and judging by his comments he is running a good operation in the business of reselling legos.1 point

I finally caught up on the mess you made. Even pulled Raven out of the shadows. Problem is, you’re too helpful. Answering people’s questions, correcting their mistakes. How dare you! Humans have this misguided idea that we’re all created equal. If they can’t find the intel themselves. No one can. Talk less. Smile more. Suggest, rather than correct. Speculate. Use Non-committal language. Btw, I would expect a different Roller coaster coming out, rather than the same again.0 points
