Mine is of my father when we were on a Lego run together a few years back. He got a little too excited as he was loading our bounty into my trunk. Shopko (remember that store?) used to be a great place to load up on deals when the stars and planets aligned. Clearance, coupons, and senior day (extra 15% off entire purchase) would all stack. I’d give him a stack of cash and would show him what to buy. He’d go check out and use his senior discount as I would wait in the car. We made some epic runs. There were about a dozen Shopko stores within a twenty-five mile radius of my home. A few years ago my Mom was dying from cancer. She had in home hospice. While my Dad is as patient and caring as they come, he needed a break from that every now and then while she was going through everything. Our Shopko runs provided that escape, if only for a few hours once a month. I’d treat him to breakfast and we would load up the car.25 points

Mine is of my first pet, Jackson. A Siberian husky I rescued first year out of college. He was blind from 8mo old and was going to be put down. We just had him cremated(Aug'20) after battling intestinal cancer. He was 14 years old, sweetest dog ever and had a great life. The picture was from a wknd camping at the beach, he was 2. He had an amazing time and loved the water. He ended up digging a hole and burying himself to stay cool. He would love to jog next to my bike even though he was blind. Showed such perseverance every day. RIP Jackie boy.10 points

I joined about a year ago, and picked Lego Lass because, well, I'm female (and also a huge LOTR fan). Just liked this pic, and I haven't changed it since. But then I noticed there's also a "LegoLassy" on the site (but no avatar on that profile.) So if you're out there LegoLassy, I promise I wasn't trying to steal your username! Maybe I'm overthinking this...8 points

"Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?" My avatar is me and Lily. We had just rescued her and it was her first day at the pond. You can see by her look she wasn't that fond of being near the water. She's almost 10 now and still hates the water. My cover photo is of my late Rottweiler Kyppa.6 points

I’m a sex maniac who spends his down time between debauchery selling children’s toys online at massively inflated prices to desperate parents during birthdays and holidays. What other avatar could I be? Giddity6 points

My state leans so far one direction that it doesn't matter who I vote for, or that I vote at all. I still vote anyway every election, because why not? Mailing it makes my life easier. I won't send in the ballot that arrived for the husband of the previous owner of my house who died before 2015, when I purchased the house. I'm sure everyone else in the same position will respect the process and just shred it as well.3 points

Based on the date of last post on this thread, may I recommend an avatar related to necromancy ??3 points

So... Call me a stick in the mud, but since there has been so much misinformation regarding voter fraud, and since faith in the process of free and fair elections is the first requirement in a peaceful transfer of power... ...maybe jokes about voter fraud aren't funny right now...? maybe... could be that I am a middle-aged prude. (I used to be cool, and have the pics to prove it.) ...But there is a non-zero chance that I am right... and even if the chance that I am right is as low as the percentage of actual measured voter fraud in the US, it is still worth considering... I am ashamed that I even mentioned it... nuance, sarcasm, and all sorts of other fun things are the first to die in a post truth age.2 points

Apologies if posted elsewhere, but I just saw that double VIP is launching October 8 - 20 for all purchases. Nothing interesting in terms of promos available unless you are after Mindstorms, but always nice to land 2x the points.2 points

I confess I put a small amount of thought into my avatar. I wanted it to be something unique and LEGO related so I found a LEGO steam punk time traveler. Just pick something you enjoy, like, or whatever is unique to you. You could use a zoomed in pic of Andrew Jackson ($20 US). If it was me, I would get a pic of Andrew Jackson from a Gold Certificate. That would be kind of cool and unique.2 points

Bought this lot off of OfferUp for $60 because I noticed a "Buckingham Palace" tile in one of the bags in the picture. It ended up being Buckingham Palace, The Louvre, White House (original), and Flintstones set... all 100% complete, without instructions.2 points

Ballot harvesting is mostly legal, so if someone was to be unethical (or simply believe that they are morally justified in doing so) - it would not be difficult to commit fraud (for either side).1 point

I read what you wrote and went back and read the comments again. I chuckled again. Confirmed...still funny.1 point

I received mine from the second run from LEGO Shop at Home. 26R0, maybe it’s done just some excess stocks they found. Never know with LEGO nowadays....1 point

Sorry, I should've introduced myself earlier. I'm Stuart and was actually born in New Zealand and my parents were stupid enough to return to the UK when I was 15 years old. I tried to settle back in Hamilton, NZ when I was in my 20's l, but it didn't work out, woman problems! I've always loved Lego, but only really started buying a couple of years back. I'm retired, so I'm no spring chicken.1 point

My avatar was grand: It was two Lego figures on the roof of the Palace Cinema in a compromising position. Then I had to change it and I have whatever this currently is (trophy, Christmas tree, I forget). Holy thread bump, Batman!1 point

I had this happen the other day with a $500+ sale. After reaching out to the buyer without success, I contacted Ebay customer service, discussed my reservations (low feedback count, normally bought less expensive items, no message back, item was priced way higher than lowest same item listed) and the rep said to send the item anyway since I have a good track record. Mainly, I wanted the transcript of the chat so if I got screwed, I could say, "See? I was predicting this and I talked to someone about it." The owner of the account messaged me later that day confirming my suspicions so I canceled the sale (and lost $16 in Paypal fees in the process). Have you reached out to Ebay about this at all?1 point
