  1. I wouldn't sell anything on Facebook Marketplace where I would expect any sort of future negative response. Good old anonymous Craigslist, and cash only, for these exciting times. I just jumped early as the local market is starting to get saturated with these. Now that mine are gone, I will share a Craigslist tip with everyone. A trick I use to bring about the FOMO in people when you know you need to move something quick. Take a picture of the set(s) you are trying to move in various places in your house so it looks like a different place. Make a listing for each picture, all at the same price. People will usually message each listing, usually trying to lowball you. For all but one, say that it just sold. They will almost always agree to the asking price as the other local sets all sold quickly... FOMO. Use an email alias so the name appears different in each response. It has been quite awhile since I had to use that trick, but I was very glad to see it still worked.

  3. Is this consumer protection compliance (CPC)? If so, you can go here https://www.lego.com/en-us/legal/notices-and-policies/compliance/ to find the safety docs. Then take pictures, one of the front of the box and one of the UPC bar code. Send doc and pics in an email requesting compliance review. I did this for each item separately. Stunning that they would start this process just before the holidays.

  5. Unloaded the rest of them on hand, 33 in total, since the Stonewars article the 17th. Thankfully the FBA stock all sold before the article. The vast majority on Craigslist... people were flocking to grab them at $200 before the news spread. Dropped the last handful to $175 to move them. A two mile drive to my local meeting point. Started getting messages from buyers over the weekend of people asking to return it as it was being re-released. One person threatening police action for price gouging. LOL, this was fun.

  8. I don’t visit LEGO stores often, but when I do, I avoid the VIP card on items if I’ve already reached the limit at SAH. I imagine if you visited regularly without a disguise, they may wonder why you used the card one day but not the next — can be awkward. You can try, ”My horoscope warned me not to use loyalty cards today”, but YMMV.

  9. Waited on the phone for about 30 mins, and the rep persuaded me not to cancel my order as this set won't be remade. She said the initial production that was slated for SDCC sold out quickly, so they decided to get the factory to produce one more batch. This second batch sold out and backorders will ship on 10/08/20. She said it won't be produced again. We all know to take that with a grain of salt. I decided not to cancel my order. I'm sure I'll break even at the very least and hope what she says is true. Might be more than a year hold. That's how long I held my Vader bust for before unloading for a nice profit.

  10. 75298 Taun Taun vs AT-AT Microfighter - really? What LEGO designer thought this was a good pairing? Hop, hop, hop, boom. AT-AT wins again. lol

  12. Mercari is legit. Just kind of like the wild west of buying and selling. Same as nationwide Offerup. It is a great place to score valuable, underpriced LEGO sets, or at least it used to be. Buying got really competitive last year and you must be quick on the draw. Took to much babysitting, so I only go on from time to time anymore to buy. I've sold a few sets here and there. Had mostly good luck.

  13. Yes. I know of a few that didn't clear. B004N768A2 : 3648 Police Chase, for example. B004478GCE : 2260 Ice Dragon is another. They are both available now on different ASIN's though. So I'm not sure how much impact the restrictions have in the long run.

  14. social media phenomenon...everyone only shares their best days/images...making it seem like "everyone else" is having a better life than you translated to BP...everyone else here is a better reseller than me ...they all have buy-ins at 50-70% off...always gets the exclusives...and even gets Lambos for $90

  17. Yup, checked each case and they were all very consistent with 3 sets per case. The extra 12 figures per case did vary slightly

  18. I received the 75192 Millennium Falcon I ordered from Harrod's last week. This is how big stuff should be shipped. The Lego shipper inside is immac ulate. And basically 30% off RRP after tax savings and cash back. This is packaging excellence.

  19. With the government pulling back on whatever scheme they are doing....people are getting wary of spending I guess. I am lucky to still have a job and buy some lego but everywhere else seems to be doing it tough. Agreed that Xmas and New Year will be a quiet one... but hopefully next year will be better for all.

  23. LOL. Is it really surprising that things aren't going to go as expected in what has otherwise been an entirely predictable year in which there have been no surprises or unexpected turns of events for anyone anywhere in the world???

  26. Yes, you have the right. But this isn't some website that is insisting 2+2=5. They are hypothesizing about the production of a kid's toy consisting of molded plastic parts. Perspective is important in life.

  27. Seriously, stonewars is providing data/information as they have it, they owe you and us nothing. Generally their lists are over 95% accurate, without sites like Stonewars and BP you'd most likely be flying blind. Be grateful for the data you are getting for free and stop complaining.

  28. Stop acting like its a government website thats not updating COVID news. Come on guys. Its just LEGO.

  29. What's going on is that Lego appears to have made some recent decisions about the products it would be retiring and those it would be continuing into next year. This is not surprising given the wrench that COVID threw into the gears of its manufacturing and distribution operations. My guess is that they had a plan earlier in the year about what would stay and go, and revisited that plan in the last few weeks based on what has happened between when it was first developed and now.

  30. They where set on retirement. And Prompbricks had the Info, like many other news Sites, or insiders in Germany, that those Sets will retire. The stores couldnt order anymore of those Sets. But Lego just decided short term that those sets will countinue. And like Always those Lists on Stonewars, Promobricks or Brickmerge arent anything official. Of course people rely on those, but nobody can do something about a short notice decision fo Lego. And btw the German post up there was a Dealer who stated that Lego put those Sets back into production. Nearly at the same time Promobricks got the same Information by another source (one of their reliable sources) And as always...I just wanted to let you know. Maybe somebody wanted to go all in those Sets. I just wanted to be nice.

  31. No point buying at a discount if you can't sell it, I believe many were stuck with exo-suit. No one claims that the list is set in stone, use it as a guide and like all investments you need to dydd. I think they are just trying to provide the best information that they have.

  34. Picture supposedly from the Lego Brand store in Mexico City. The person sharing the picture on Reddit says that they get new stock multiple times a week. The 899.99 price is approximately $40 Edit: Another shot, this one from from the Holocron Toy Store in Texas, selling for under RRP at $35.99
