Just got this info from a reliable seller, a truthful source, he simply forwarded an official statement of TLG's ambassador network regarding another market-crashing re-release of one the most successful sets of all time. At this point, I'm really worried this might be the last shot to finish this forum & the whole community off. This might be it! The statement is as following: "Due to high demand & popularity, significance in the LEGO world & as a service to our fans we are proud to anounce we'll be re-launching set number 75119 - "Jyn Erso" from the Star Wars line. The set will be available again December 1st online on LEGO Shop at Home or at your local stores. The arrangements with The Walt Disney Company remain the same, they still get their 70% in licensing fees."13 points

I bought a UCS AT-ST and a few other sets from a lady four years ago. Her sons had more Lego (no mention of what sets) at the time but didn’t want to sell them yet. I told her to keep my number handy when her sons decide they’re ready to sell. Out of nowhere, she reached out to me this weekend asking if the phone number still belongs to me, and that her sons are ready to sell more Lego. She sent me four pictures. The first two were meh, but the last two were… I didn’t get them for a song as her sons checked eBay for market value. I don’t know how they came up to these numbers, but they asked $300 for Café Corner and $200 each for Green Grocer, Town Hall, Fire Brigade, and Grand Emporium. I ended up talking them down to $1020 for all five. I’m in the middle of washing the pieces, but from what I can tell so far, most, if not all, of the pieces are there along with the minifigures. Even though I’m not into modulars, it’s kind of exciting seeing Green Grocer and Café Corner in my possession. I have sealed sets of the others, so the rest don’t do much for me.12 points

just speaking to a friend of mine who works at lego HQ, he said the reason they are retiring the hidden side theme, is they are going to re-release the entire theme under a new theme called 'Lego Hidden Side'. all the same sets just with different numbers they expect sales to increase substantially within this new theme.6 points

The most shocking part of that revelation would be Niko disguising himself as bald man6 points

It really is incredible, he's actually been saving money for over a year to buy it and we got really worried once he got the money and then it was no where to be found. Luckily we were able to get one off of Amazon at the beginning of the month.4 points

LOL. Is it really surprising that things aren't going to go as expected in what has otherwise been an entirely predictable year in which there have been no surprises or unexpected turns of events for anyone anywhere in the world???4 points

This is absolutely true. They are also re-releasing 10210 Imperial Flagship due to a letter I wrote to Santa explaining how it's really the only thing left on my "want" list.3 points

Sorry man. I feel you. The Lego gods can be ruthless, but once in a blue moon, they shine on some lowly pickers. Your day will come.2 points

I would keep those other ones and sell your sealed ones. And why is it that people who are not into modulars land my white whales all the time, and I can't get a deal below $700 each on them?2 points

The 21103 Delorean is being re-released around next Easter as 92162, the RRP will go up from £34.99 to £42.99 due to licencing costs. There is in fact a plan to re-release most IDEAS sets over the next 18 months. Set number 92166 is already reserved for WALL-E, but RPP will remain the same due to ongoing Disney licence. The only ones I know of that will NOT be re-released for a least 18 months are Hayabusa, Minecraft The Forest, Exo Suit, Caterham Seven, Doctor Who, Maze and Research Institute. I can also confirm that two modular buildings are being re-released around Easter. These are the Green Grocer and Cafe Corner. They will be identical from the outside, but will contain new elements and a more detailed interior. RRP for both will be £149.99. The Tower Bridge also returns in a black 18+ box in an extended version with the extra anchor towers for £319.99. 10225 Star Wars R2-D2 is also coming back next Summer in a new Disney box and will have a higher RRP of £169.99, in line with other "UCS" sets. How do I know this? Please don't ask as I can't tell you for obvious reasons. he also says this. personally i think he's a troll , who thinks he works for lego.2 points

Pieced these together from a $40 lot. Surprisingly, there were not many missing pieces. As far as I can tell, there is still one 3368 can be built from the lot and a couple of small Star Wars sets. A couple of castle figs were also found including the king and two armored horses.2 points

Not that I see. I'll bet they're banking on baby Yoda being The most popular Star Wars figure this year. Like the last two GWPs, it's doubtful that you would even get one even if your order said it had one. I'm not salty.1 point

The set also has a dented corner and a crease on the other side. I’m sure I’ll survive such great misfortune. On the other hand, the wrinkles in the Obi-Wan polybag that shipped with it are totally unforgivable.1 point

LOL Idiot may be a bit harsh, but their logic for figuring out market value was a bit flawed. I was more excited for the $200 Green Grocer! I think it's the sand green mentality.1 point

Wait until Amazon claims it lost all of the sets people sent in for FBA and then Amazon magically has stock on all of those, at inflated prices, of course. Then Bezos pulls off his mask and it turns out he was Niko all along.1 point

Its slated for Mid year retirement, but it could get pushed back again (I'm assuming it goes end of next year). In my opinion, yes its a big deal. A retirement this year with limited output capacity would most likely put into quick 100% profit territory. With it retiring next year sometime. I'd guess its going to be late 2022 before decent gains will be seen. I'll probably skip this unless I can get some good discounts.1 point

The best part about this listing is Amazon is price gouging and unfairly controlling the buy box when there are many other cheaper listings.1 point

To be honest . This is getting boring now. They are not just going to re release every set.1 point

The SeaCow is potentially my favorite build ever. Not a single part felt tedious, it went together fluidly, and looks incredible. Come to think of it, I left it off of my top 10 and I can't think of how. It is definitely my favorite set that I continually forget I have.1 point
-
It always amazes me how much better lego sets look in person than the box, or even YouTube videos can portray. Like the first time I saw a SeaCow in person. It went from a "really cool looking set" to a must have set. I bet seeing the treehouse in 3D is no different.1 point

I’m not sure I’d agree with that. 2020 has been an epic year for AFOL-level sets. But who knows what people in Billund are thinking.1 point

I'm hearing rumors that the reason Lego is rereleasing some sets is because they are really struggling with having enough variety of product. I've heard that they didn't launch enough good sets in 2020 and need to bring a few old ones out to make the shelves look full again.1 point

SO to answer the question - Yes you can sell $10,000 in Lego from a garage in a weekend 🙂 The final total is $10,438 in sales for a profit of $4496.91 on 190 Lego sets sold. I will post a list of sets and prices at some point but I wanted to update the thread. Yes- I am shocked- I have gotten close to 5,000 before and been happy. I am in utter shock - I am going to have dinner.1 point

Any half decent company knows that having a secondary market means you’re doing something right with your brand. The strategy of course is to find that balance of profitable sales and allowing a secondary market to indirectly boost your brand value. LEGO trying to mess with secondary market will be shooting themselves in the foot. So those rumors are either some schmuck messing with people trying to induce a sell off, or LEGO is really really stupid. You just have to ask which is more likely.1 point
-
It really makes sense for rereleases. Especially as Lego improves the manufacturing process over time. I wonder if the Snowspeeder being released to VIP's again in Europe (I think this happened over the summer?) should have been another indicator? We could be seeing the beginning of certain Lego sets just essentially never retiring (might see this with Hogwarts and the Disney Castle?), as they could just reprint them at any given moment.1 point
