  1. Sorry about your situation. This is crazy I went back and check all of my high value transactions from the past 6 months and they were all shipped via Fedex. Here is the kicker, it turns out Fedex keep tracking history for at least 6 months. I have not paid attention to this, so others feel free to double check me on this. So Fedex is the way to go for me for high $ items from now on

  2. Was it a foreign buyer? Paypal charges more for foreign transactions.

  5. This was a really fun build. The instructions are split up nicely. Even though some parts of the build are a bit repetitive those moments go by quickly and something new and novel gets built. $199 would have been great but I still think this is worth the $229 I paid. You do need to connect Mario to your phone at least once to update his software to allow him to understand the scan code on the TV. If you don't, his stomach displays a cell phone on it with the bluetooth symbol. Without updating, he'll response to the various colors as you cycle through the screen but interprets them as land and water etc instead of playing the right sounds that sync with what's on the TV. I love the TV build. Even without function its just so retro it's great.

  9. I would guess it's because it's a foreign buyer as well. Sometimes we get foreign buyers with domestic shipping addresses. As far as I can tell, there is no way to know until you look at the Paypal transaction and calculate the fees like you have done.

  10. You do know you're paying paypal fees on the taxes received as well, right? I don't know how that applies to international sales as all of mine are domestic. In my spreadsheet I have to input taxes charged as a separate line item so I can see an accurate paypal fee.

  13. No, they are about 4 years old. First released in 41067-1 Belle's Enchanted Castle, since then they have been in 32 other sets and minifigs ... https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=24093&v=0&in=S&srt=2&srtAsc=A&ov=Y

  14. So I liquidated my position in Dimension packs . Sold 21 of them for 184.50 that cost me 183.10 After expenses my net loss was $39.20 for an ROI of -21% (ooops) But I also sold a 75013 Umbaran HMC that I paid $30.20 for for $150 and after expenses got a return of $87.55 for an ROI of 290% Somethings work, somethings don't I am also preparing to move so the 7 pallets of Lego needs to become a more reasonable three before next summer so Dimensions just did not have a place in my future. If I was not moving I would have just sat on them but one less box to move and green stuff in my pocket is easier on the back, the wife and my future storage constraints. Also, I have switched to UPS for shipping so some costs are a little higher but the bigger boxes are a little cheaper but the ground shipping is faster than US Priority mail right now. ( I sent 1 item to a buyer 10 days ago it has not got there yet via mail and sent him another item via UPS on Friday and it will get there tomorrow (ground))

  20. no just regular fbm. my default setting also says 1-2 days but then if you hit the edit button on your inventory list for any individual SKU, and look what is populating the handling time field on a listing it shows up as 5 days instead of 1. so i have to type in 1 and then save the change for that listing. this is a change because i also put order limits on all my items and the handling field was populating correctly before. this change sinks your listing in terms of date of delivery.

  21. I checked mine and the same thing happened to me on about 70% of my listings. I also notice that when listing an item the default goes to 5 days now. Thanks for the heads up.

  23. I’m not a huge fan of play-oriented sets, but this is still one of my favorite sets that I’ve built. It looks great on display and was a really fun build. One of the few sets in my collection that I’ve built twice.

  28. no, i'm sorry, i should be more clear. so i'm noticing that these other LEGO boxes are more wide than the modulars that came before. Downtown Diner is 15"'s wide I believe. so my current set of 24x16x4/6 works just fine. now that Barracuda Bay, Nintendo, Tree House, Corner Garage are 19"'s wide i'm looking for a new size box for these bigger sets. Rough measure of the box puts them at: 23x19x5. So thinking a 24x20x6 so there is some space for bubble wrap/paper to protect corners and sides. I was just wondering if folks had a line on that size box and where to get it. that seems like a good one, maybe a tad bit too long, but mind sharing where you get it from?

  29. I keep 26 x 20 x 6, 26 x 20 x 4 and also a small stock of bigger 24 x 24 x 8. Those seem to work for 99% of the big sets. And recently I've picked up some 20 x 15 x 6 good for the big porsche, bugatti and slave 1.

  30. Story time.... When I was a kid, I would pour over Thomas Bros maps when on long car trips. I’d follow roads all over the map, from page to page. Study neighborhoods, how things were laid out. Where construction was planned. I point to that as a primary reason I ended up getting a degree in Geography, and being a cartographer as my first career.

  31. Agreed but the answer to the problem is not to just cutoff OT. The answer is to determine what’s causing the OT and make changes to the processes/personnel so that OT isn’t necessary any longer. Just cutting off OT solves nothing and actually makes the problems worse as was documented by the employee.

  32. OT culture is bad...no business should be reliant on habitual OT as it eventually becomes the norm for both owner, managers and workers...expectations become out-of-wack w/ the original business model and financial frame-work which may have been sound once...but becomes out-of-date

  33. Most people aren't aware the 2 months ago I had a pretty serious stroke. Im only 45 and in good shape. Ends up I had a 13mm hole in my heart so it was only a matter of time. So since I have 6months off of work and with all the crazy stuff going on in the world I figured it was good therapy to get back to building. So this is the first think I have built. Turned out ok. Will be starting on Dr.Stranges house tomorrow.

  34. Built my first 3 Lego sets in almost 15 years. Can't wait to build and display the other skyline. About the display: I wanted to display my skyline sets using the Kasseby display boxes as posted by others. However, some of the newer sets are much deeper (>10cm) and did not fit in the boxes. Here is my alternative which in my opinion looks nicer and is cheaper: 2 x IKEA Mosslanda (115 cm) 2 x IKEA SÄVSTA Memo board for the black background Clear Acrylic sheet from Home Depot LED lights from Amazon
