  4. Did a QFLL of a Crocodile Locomotive that I bought last week during summer break in Italy @218CHF. They were sold for 99eur and I got some VAT back, nice quick doubling of investment. It's TOOS in Switzerland and I did not see it in Lyon but they were in all 3 lego shops I went to in Italy.

  5. the only top 50 set from the theme on the river is the starter set and that's instock on amazon limit 30 though it is the #1 set. still limit 30x not sold out- that's not a very good sign for this theme imo. if the goal is to flip before year's end for maximal profit, you likely do much better placing your bet on Razor Crest which is an amazon exclusive, a much larger set so there will be fewer in purchasing circulation. the set is very likely to sell out at amazon and shop at home . lack of target or walmart competition will funnel the buyers to you though tongue lashings from upset scalped parents may be a hazard to be endured. Then you can sell them for no fees and maximal profit in the Starbucks parking lot and not have to worry about returns when they come back in stock in February.

  6. Praying for you guys. I'm originally from Cedar Rapids and still have friends and family living there. None of them have power yet. I was living there in 1998 when Iowa City was hit by such storm. Crazy stuff. It is like getting hit by a Cat 2 Hurricane that didn't exist a mere seven hours earlier.

  7. I would think that he would be able to get some nicer display shelves for his sets. Is that Jimmy Fallon's aunt?

  9. I have a 6 year old and that's all he needs. hes recreating the game play but with his actual hands and building new pieces to enhance it and he loves it. And we dont even have the mario yet. hes just playing with the blind bag creatures and one expansion set where you get to whack the guts out of a sectional cactus

  10. I didn't want to open up a discussion on Disney's financials on the Retiring soon forum. The point is that they will take any stream of income due to the current circumstances, therefore I'm speculating that the Disney Theme Legos may last longer than expected.

  11. Almost the same for me today. Sold my loose Ewok Village for $250 local sale. I posted it yesterday. I didn't have to break it down and guy paid cash. Made about $10 less than I would off of eBay (my instruction manuals had writing on it from the previous owner and I had no box), but I'd pay $10 any day to save the hassle of breaking down a big set and boxing it up nice so it arrives safely. And no possible scamming!

  12. Damn. I'm breaking down 2 THs right now. Shipped a 3rd to a fellow BPer earlier this week. That one was inventoried by me a couple of years ago. I have no memory of doing it though, lol. He's going to let me know how complete it is. My complaint is on the 2 I'm working on. I'm wiping down every piece by hand as I take them apart. Lucky for me the lady has been in Houston for the past 5 weeks.

  13. $125 on craigslist All genuine figures, all in collectors condition at less than $2.25 a piece. Haven't found a blemish on one yet. We shall see which of these end up on Bricklink and which I keep.

  14. I know @odysea11 was not sure of the value of this, but since I had to go through an inventory effort for my BL store anyways, here is the final summary: Buy-in price was $165 shipped. I had to move 6 minifig heads to my personal collection as the printing was faded/substandard. Total value of parts (BL 6-month avg): $368, with a couple of individual parts fetching >$1.5 each, including the bunny teeth minifigure head going for $2.70. TLBM2 Minifigs: $40 (3xGiraffe Guy, 2xWatermelon Dude, 1 each of Flashback Lucy, Apocalypse Benny, Vest Friend Rex, Unikitty and Dorothy+Toto). DC Minifigs: $39.50 (2 each of Metamorpho and Stargirl, 1 each of Aquaman, Joker, Cheetah, Green Lantern, Bumblebee and Bat-Mite). Retail price for the storage container: $20 ---------------+ Total value: $368+$40+$39.50+$20 = $467.50 Slightly off from LEGO's $552.99 advertised retail price, but a pretty good bargain nevertheless (65% off).

  16. Met someone local today who was selling a used Venator for $250 that he said was complete with box and instructions and unused sticker sheet. I offered $150, he accepted. We met up and I looked through it, it had the box, instructions and stickers as stated, but the only minifigure was a combat droid that didn't even belong with the set. He said that he forgot the minifigs at home and that he would knock another $50 off the price and deliver the minifigs to me later. The box was full of random colored pieces that I knew didn't belong at all to the Venator. It's a shame because I have bought and sold 3 Venators already and they have been great money makers for me.

  17. Continued cleanup from the "Derecho" storm that blew through Eastern Iowa. 100+ mph straight line winds for 30-40 mins straight. Overall our house was spared but the city looks like a war zone. So glad to have gotten power back last night. I realize what a blessing having power again is!
