  2. Most people aren't aware the 2 months ago I had a pretty serious stroke. Im only 45 and in good shape. Ends up I had a 13mm hole in my heart so it was only a matter of time. So since I have 6months off of work and with all the crazy stuff going on in the world I figured it was good therapy to get back to building. So this is the first think I have built. Turned out ok. Will be starting on Dr.Stranges house tomorrow.

  3. Yes. The hole in my heart allowed a clot to enter the blood supply to my brain. Im fortunate that from just looking and talking to me you cant tell. I have some memory issues , constant tingling on my right side and some issues with my vision. All have been getting better amd building is good therapy .

  4. I sold a number but my favorite sale was 60056 Tow Truck for a buy-in of 10.05 for $115 for a total profit after expenses of $78.91 or a return of 785%. I don't have all winners but if someone told me I could turn $10 into almost $90 in five years - I would take it. Bought in on March 9 of 2015.

  10. Built my first 3 Lego sets in almost 15 years. Can't wait to build and display the other skyline. About the display: I wanted to display my skyline sets using the Kasseby display boxes as posted by others. However, some of the newer sets are much deeper (>10cm) and did not fit in the boxes. Here is my alternative which in my opinion looks nicer and is cheaper: 2 x IKEA Mosslanda (115 cm) 2 x IKEA SÄVSTA Memo board for the black background Clear Acrylic sheet from Home Depot LED lights from Amazon

  11. So today it was Mandalorian Fighter 75022 purchased on January 9 of 2015 for 15.04 Sold for $120 for a total return of 574% after buy-in and expenses. Plus the buyer combine shipping with two other orders so Shipping cost was lower on this one as well But the low value one was a 75115 Poe Dameron buildable figure that I bought for 6.63 on August 3, 2016 and sold for $20 for a return of 7.69 or 116% after buy-in and expenses. The combined shipping helped this one turn a profit. I just don't want anyone to think it is all great returns. I have some slow movers I am shipping as well.

  12. I was delighted to find he worked with the NES. I ordered a Mario Adventures bundle back in April before the NES was even announced (just to have one). I never intended to 'play' with the Mario as designed (I may sell off the other pieces). I'll keep him nearby the NES and TV and activate him once in a while. He sure does look creepy when turned off (those black eyes).

  13. Can someone clarify - so, the starter kit is a completely different thing altogether but it contains the Mario figurine that makes the NES TV give off sound effects? Is this right?

  14. Any word on the distribution of those minifigures? Are we going to get another "chase" figure?

  21. Someone just sent me an offer - stating that it was a fair price, based on the original msrp, adjusted for inflation.

  22. That was the sale they had before. I picked one up and was floored by the care they put into the packing. They put the LEGO shipping box inside another padded box. It was like the size of a mini refrigerator. They didn't waste any time shipping it either. It arrived in just a few days. Very impressed and would definitely order from them again. I'd pick up another Falcon but I'm short on space. 2,800 sq ft house if jam packed with LEGO. My girlfriend keeps giving me the stink eye every time another shipping box arrives. I think putting LEGO sets in the kitchen cabinets above the refrigerator was the last straw...

  28. The stonewars list is always the eu / uk version, so sets in North America will retire afterwards, always gives you guys a heads up. I think the list is not complete as there should be more q4 retirements that that have been missed out.

  29. Lots of memories for me. My brother and I would always inhale dinner as the first one done and upstairs got to be player 1 and decide what game(s) were played that night. My parents recently retired / moved, which means we had to go through all our boxes of stuff that we still had at their house. I received the NES and the games. My initial thoughts on this set were meh, but after going through my games, I like this set more and more and think they could add so much to it such as Excitebike, Spyhunter (if they could change the scrolling), Castlevania, Megaman, etc. And for the math discussion...

  30. You must not have got an nes for Christmas in 86-88 it really was quite an experience and many of us gen x will have to have this for the nostalgia factor. You may not understand it but this is great and will take many people back to the 8 bit days of their childhoods spent playing Mario bro’s and duck hunt.

  31. Nostalgia sells. Millions of NES classics were sold. This unit is possibly the most iconic gaming system to date, and a part of people's lives aged 35-55. I have built one set in the last eight years, and his may be the second. I think it's awesome and will look great on my desk. No, it's not your typical set, but that's also what makes it so great. As far as the point to it, I guess there is none.
