  2. Thank you, this is literally the first set I've shown interest in investing into LEGO, I only found this site last week. Apologies for asking questions that some of you might find laughable.

  3. What's with all the hating against MasamuneHonjo? Leave the guy alone. Sorry if we all don't have the incredible insight that you do. The guy was just asking questions about things. Brickpicker is surely about helping others and learning and not about bashing each other and making them feel crappy.

  4. That's 120 minifigures and a storage head for $160. I really wish my kids were still little; I needed this exact purchase in 2009.

  8. OK folks, given the opportunity, would you be buying many at RRP? Managed to get these 10% off our local RRP - making them about $160US buy-in. I grabbed 8. Don't think I'll go for any more, in the unlikely case I find them. Pretty hard to know what prices will do given they can now be sold and the non-sold bulk parts may yet get given to AFOLs.

  9. Just wait for August 3rd or so, it will show how many are out there. Holding this set is a bad idea either way, there will only be more of them.

  11. I'm reading this thread and thinking the same. Those that feel this set will be plentiful are likely mistaken.

  12. So are we saying that there at least 150, 000 of this set waiting to be sold on the 1st? Would this be for UK and EU?

  17. Hogwarts Castle 71043 was down to AMZ having 1 left in inventory last night. They're up to 16 now but those should go soon. I grabbed a few the other day for XMAS. Couple of other sellers have tanked their prices (one shows 290 in stock but since they fulfill it themselves, they can put any number they want). If you want one at RPP, grab it, they'll likely be gone by this afternoon.

  33. Amazon has become full of people like that recently, mainly because Amazon no longer seems to care about the integrity of their marketplace. There's a large company called Quiverr that sells a bunch of products on there. 100,000+ orders, something like 13,000 reviews in the past year. I had ordered some things from them a while back and got expired/used items three times in a row. So I decided to do an experiment and ordered about a dozen food items. 90% of them were past the expiration date and as expected nothing ever came of reporting it to Amazon. Sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in the middle. I'm trying to run a legitimate business, following the rules, while all these larger sellers seemingly do whatever they want with no consequences. And as a buyer I'm always hesitant to return things even if I deserve to because I try my best to make it work (ie if I buy something and the package is all beat up but the item itself is still perfectly functional), but I am getting so many returns lately from customers that use something for a week and then don't need it anymore, or people outright scamming by sending back empty boxes. I feel like I would be more successful as both a seller and a buyer if I were a less honest person, and that's just depressing.

  34. Sorry, I couldn't resist given the Osprey debacle For immediate Release: The LEGO Group announces cancellation of Bespin Duel 75294 "Having an absentee father beat and maim his son before consigning him to the abyss after he refuses to accept his father's philosophical views isn't in keeping with our company values," says Dirk McDirk Face. "I mean, don't get me wrong," continued Dirk, 'We at the LEGO Group are all about good clean fantasy violence. We've made bank selling battle stations responsible for destroying entire worlds, but LEGO is a family brand and domestic violence isn't really our bag."

  36. To give an American perspective... I live in Southern California. MV-22s are flying overhead every day. Honestly, they are damn cool to see. I can see many a Marine that would want this set.

  37. I understand why LEGO cancelled the original Las Vegas arch set. It was still a couple months out, so possible to go all stop on it before it gets out there. But this set is a week away from being a shelves. Could easily get out into the wild. I get Lego's thought process on this - preserving the brand - but considering how many people are involved in creating a set, you would think someone would have caught this much sooner in the process. I personally find it embarrassing for the company. You only now realize that it's not part of your brand values?

  38. SInce 2016 I have been investing in Lego and have built up quite an inventory. Due to many sets becoming really valuable right now, I started selling off about half of my inventory. Most of my Lego is stored in a large storage company with a fence that has a code, a door that has a code and my boxes have good locks. This local storage company has a good reputation, so I expected my stuff to be safe. I'm pretty cautious, so I had my Lego in several units far apart in the building, so thiefs would not accidentally stumble upon my whole collection. They did however find one box... This Wednesday, I went to the company and took some boxes on a cart to the elevator to store them in one of my spaces. Two dodgy looking guys took also put an empty cart in the elevator (non-person elevator). When I was upstairs to take my cart out, the guys where not there to get their cart. A minute later I found out why. They saw the boxes on my cart and realised they looked very similar to the ones in the one they were stealing from. When I went to my unit, I found out there was a hole in the side of it. They used an empty unit next to it that was left open to break through the metal walls between the units. They put a lot of my Lego in that unit and had a cart ready to take it out. It just happened to be my luck, that at exactly that time, I came to my unit. Ten minutes earlier or later, I would have actually caught them in my unit, so that feels pretty scary as I can imagine many scenarios of how that could play out. Honestly, I'm in a pretty good shape, but my last fight was when I was 15 or so. And it was not really a fight, anyway LONG STORY SHORT: The police came and the owner of the building has them on camera. Even dumber, one of the thiefs used the code to enter the building of his stepfather. They were walking through the building the day before to check out all the units and looking over narrow slits at the top to see what's inside. This fstepather was called by police and could immediately ID his stepson. Apparently, he immediately knew it had probably got something to do with him. They have caught the guys. This was a really dumb "heist". For me it was pretty lucky and scary at the same time. I'm arranging to get private strorage at an inconspicuous place, where I can get better security and insurance. I will update when I know more. The police has to go through all the motions. PS: I know you might feel the urge to be like hindsight man and point me on the risks of this kind of storage etc, but please refrain from it. I took a risk by doing it this way, but I did a cost- benefit analysis and this was a midprice place with good security and a lot of cameras. These guys were caught, because you have to be pretty dumb to do this. The guys will likely be charged with attempt of breaking and entering, so the punishment will be lower. They were lucky I was there to prevent them, because they would have been caught anyway. I will attach some pics so you get a better idea of it. And, I immediatly rented a truck and moved the stuff, of course This whole event did lower my enthousiasm for lego investing for a couple of days, but I'm selling a lot of sets now and the happiness of the people that buy it is very rewarding, so I'll just keep going
