I just let it go. It was awhile ago and I think it was pretty close to a wash at the time - - maybe a little in their favor. Needed a tv for the garage at the time anyway. I think I had already received a warning letter from Target by that point so I decided not to rock the boat. I called about a previous order that was screwed up and the lady at CR really remarked on all the Lego I was buying, put me on hold, etc. so I was a little spooked. Needed a tv for the garage anyway . . .2 points

Taking photos of box from all 6 sides on ebay matters. Describing any dents / marks etc. Taking photos of the packaging doesn't do anything, if you upload that in a PayPal case, the PayPal agent won't care. Just send to PayPal address via tracked / signed for and proper compensation value is best you can do. Only thing afterwards is hoping package doesnt get damaged/ buyer isn't a scammer. If you cover yourself with the above, it will suffice for 99% of genuine buyers, the 1% scammer will always find ways to screw you.1 point

Informal poll: Laugh react to my post to take the Amazon points on the backend, allowing you to use those points free for non business purchases as credit card rewards are not considered income thus not taxable. While allowing you to write off the extra 5% cost of the set purchased. Confused react my post to receive the dopamine boost of the extra 5% off at purchase while getting to pay taxes on the extra profit netted from that 5% frontend discount.1 point

True, but let’s just say that they decide not to do any more production run since it’s down for retirement and/or retailers decide not to do their usual sales due to loss earnings. Rather make slightly less profit than no profit at all. If I’ve learnt anything from Lego investing and also my day job is never to be be too greedy. Also I don’t have time to go from each of my old haunts to load up like I used to. This to be fair is the main issue and why I ultimately decided to pull the handbrake in 2018. If these sets do as well as I think they will, more than happy to pay RRP. Also small sets so easy to store and dispatch with Royal Mail Small boxes. Can now forget about them since I got a decent quantity. Definently don’t want to be rushing around from store to store (especially in current climate) and refreshing websites in middle of night in Jan 21 trying to get stock of retired stock (Remember doing this for sets like Elves Queens Dragon and Brick Bank). Although the hunt is fun and I do miss those days where you hit 7/8 stores and come back after a full on day with a mega haul! Happy days!1 point

Sell now. Don't get too greedy in case there is buyer's remorse. Doesn't matter if you insist on no returns, Buyer can say it was damaged en route and then eBay will side with Buyer. This is very much like the new UCS MFs that were bought on launch day at Leicester Sq. They were going for £4k a few days afterwards (best single transaction that I've ever done) Now, you can pick one up for about £1k. At the moment most buyers will be people who think they can make a quick buck, hence QFLL's as opposed to people who want to Build. Seriously who's going to drop £1k to build a set? Don't want to be left without a chair when the music stops!1 point

How about Hogwarts Express to start with as you already mentioned it? It's marked since Summer 2019.1 point

If its on the invoice you will "most likely" get fulfilled. I have however, had gwp's cancelled when they were close to the running out point . . .1 point

Funny, had that happen with Target a few years ago. Instead of a big Lego order I received a 50" Sony TV. I was spending so much money on Lego at the time I was afraid to call them about it and draw attention to myself.1 point

My estimate (top end) is 2k units between JLP and Argos. JLP shifted 100 units in 15 minutes, and they were gone within 90 minutes as people woke up. Argos have 844 stores and had 4 or 5 available per store, but have been moving stock between stores. I have no idea about Smyths, other than a 'we don't know' email from Customer Service. Smyths never give anything away. Jeff still to show his hand. Contact in Czech cannot find any there which is surprising. US availibility market will determine if this is a £300 set, or an £800 to £1,000 set at Xmas. All the above is my best guess. I'm part of UK Lego group and happy to intel share further intel. Collectively, we don't post here much.1 point

OK folks, given the opportunity, would you be buying many at RRP? Managed to get these 10% off our local RRP - making them about $160US buy-in. I grabbed 8. Don't think I'll go for any more, in the unlikely case I find them. Pretty hard to know what prices will do given they can now be sold and the non-sold bulk parts may yet get given to AFOLs.1 point

To give an American perspective... I live in Southern California. MV-22s are flying overhead every day. Honestly, they are damn cool to see. I can see many a Marine that would want this set.1 point

MLB's new 'Extra Inning" rule that automatically places a runner at second base with no one out every half inning. It's stupid in every possible way.0 points
