  1. Wife played bumper cars earlier in the year (main damage in the lower left hand corner of pic 1) and finally had some time to complete the repair. The lowest price a body shop offered me was $1250 for the bumper and upper and lower grill. I got all the parts online, including a color matched bumper for a grand total of $275.

  3. Built this little blast from the past today. It’s funny to imagine all these little guys sitting here waiting for a few decades for the next battle.

  4. Took in two rescues today. Think they are just two weeks or so. I think I have a family for them already, will have to get them off the bottle first. I have been fostering 10 years now but stopped once covid hit. Nice to be back at it.

  5. Sorry, I couldn't resist given the Osprey debacle For immediate Release: The LEGO Group announces cancellation of Bespin Duel 75294 "Having an absentee father beat and maim his son before consigning him to the abyss after he refuses to accept his father's philosophical views isn't in keeping with our company values," says Dirk McDirk Face. "I mean, don't get me wrong," continued Dirk, 'We at the LEGO Group are all about good clean fantasy violence. We've made bank selling battle stations responsible for destroying entire worlds, but LEGO is a family brand and domestic violence isn't really our bag."

  7. The Treehouse was my Father’s Day present. Snagged one when they finally came back @ LEGO Shop at Home at end of May. Finished building it the other day. I loves the build and the attention to detail. I’m going to BL the tree branch bricks so I can build the autumn look and just switch the entire tree limbs.

  10. Took a gamble with this offer from Legoland Florida: https://shop-florida.legoland.com/collections/ultimate-bundles/products/lego®-build-a-minifigure-mystery-selection: 100 Random minifig heads 100 Random minifig torsos 100 Random minifig legs/skirts 100 Random minifig hair/hats 100 Random minifig accessories 10 TLM2 Minifig bags 10 DC Comics Minifig bags plus 1 Storage "head". I figured for $165 shipped I can always decide to list these out in my BL store, and pick and choose the best ones for my own collection. Keeping my fingers crossed the blind bags of minifigs have interesting figures in them, not only leftovers, but not being too optimistic there

  12. I can't remember if this has been mentioned but Disney.com has the Disney Castle for MSRP + free shipping. They also have the the Boba Fett, Stormtrooper and TIE Fighter helmets in stock. And since there are no Disney stores in Alabama, it is one of the few stores in which I don't have to pay Alabama's 10% tax. Castle was $349 out the door! That's a win for me. https://www.shopdisney.com/brands/lego/?start=24&sz=24

  13. Love this style. Bring on the Carbon freezing chamber companion set next. This is probably how Lego should have done the Bespin UCS set: A series of dioramas That could be interconnected for display on a shelf.

  20. I built my Dragon a few months ago. It sits atop my Palace Cinema and Grand Emporium. So far so good. It’s been $40 since it came out. I’ve wanted three of these sets because I like all the builds and would loo good in my fairground. I’m waiting for them to clearance before picking up more than the one I have. 23. Thought processes do not happen with customer service, rather they go through a checklist. #1 is has the allotted time elapsed? You can possibly call them and get them to get involved in a deep discussion over the issue but at the end of the day they have until the 30th. Even if you could get somewhere, I can't imagine it would be worth the aggravation to save 6 days time.

  24. Sweet divinity of the musical Muses, this is absolutely astounding. Some changes over the submission but they stayed true to the original including the masterful mechanics. Also that seat looks mighty comfy. Haha. A classic Beethoven bust would fit very well with this. I could easily see LEGO offering a free mini-build of such to go with every order of this. This reminds me. I really need to exercise more.

  25. The more I think about this, I really cant believe Lego caved like this. It says RESCUE clearly on the sides and has no weaponry at all. I understand the "point" in that "there are profits going to people who make bad things" but honestly, that deal has already been made and secured. This should by no means been classified as "military" because of the 3P license. Where are all of the hyper-christians up in arms about Harry Potter? Where is PETA protesting the Friends theme "Jungle Rescue"?

  26. England might be different than USA, but in the USA if you don't buy larger sets going EOL at RRP, you most likely will not have one. Any set going EOL this year is going to be misleading. Although the dates for it may say it has been around for 18 mo - 2 yrs, there is really 2-3 mo in the middle where no sets were being produced in Mexico. And sets coming from Europe were very limited at best. It is difficult to measure the full impact of decreased availability, especially for post-retirement value. So if you can find it on sale, congrats. In the USA, RRP will most likely be the best price on several larger sets this year.

  27. We get it, you think it's okay to buy at retail. No reason to troll people about it, others have different opinions. If we all did the exact same thing here then we probably wouldn't make as much money. Let it go... its a joke calm down

  33. my opinion but most of the folks building this...like the ones building the high end Lambo and Chiron...buy it for the wow factors, build it...be amazed...show off to friends...then its a display piece for the next 5 to 10 years. Never touched again. That black screams of needing dust protection. It's "elegant"...few...very few LEGO sets can say that so that puts the price point into perspective. It's a mantle piece or on a piano top...its shelf space comp are not other LEGO sets but vases and art pieces.

  36. This is incredibly impressive. Great use of the powered up and App functions. This is a perfect representation of Lego taking the Ideas theme in the right direction from Fan Concept to Final Product. Its not on my day 1 list, but its made THE list for sure.

  37. The twin-rotor helicopter in 76162 Black Widow Helicopter Chase seems pretty obviously a CH-47 Chinook and its primary user is the military, but if it's being flown by a fictional villain in a licensed theme, I guess that's okay. So, we just need the Osprey to show up in a Bond film, DC or Marvel film, Stranger Things, or the Fast & the Furious and it'll be good to go

  38. Finished the Joker Bricksketch this morning. Much more interesting and substantial compared to the Batman build. One interesting feature of the Joker is that if you throw him up on a wall or shelf, the eyes tend to follow you due to the way they're sunk into his face. Really creepy. Here are the stop motion videos I made if you want to see the guts: Joker: https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6851210050606730502 Batman: https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6850814993437379845 Overall I really like these sets, but wish they were at the Brickheadz price point or included a minifig.

  43. Lots of memories for me. My brother and I would always inhale dinner as the first one done and upstairs got to be player 1 and decide what game(s) were played that night. My parents recently retired / moved, which means we had to go through all our boxes of stuff that we still had at their house. I received the NES and the games. My initial thoughts on this set were meh, but after going through my games, I like this set more and more and think they could add so much to it such as Excitebike, Spyhunter (if they could change the scrolling), Castlevania, Megaman, etc. And for the math discussion...

  44. Finally sold my last star wars buildable figure, what a relief. Bought these when I first started investing in 2016 /2017, I just saw the 50% off plus sign and thought how could I lose money! Boy did I not take into account things like: - Set turnover rate (how many sell on ebay in a day) - Set appreciation (I just assumed all lego would appreciate forever, I didn't research at all if the buildable figures would be sought after in the future). Even though I managed to miss the real stinkers like rey / jyn erso, I still only barely sold over my buyin cost, most profit per set was a couple of pounds, not a loss but definitely one of the worst investments I've made. I did managed to make money on the general gracious / jango fett. The last wave of buildable figures proved to be very rare in UK, and I managed to buy some after they retired and the boba fett / darth maul sold for about 2x rrp. Lesson learned, now hoping I can shift some of my old minifigure series, which I also didn't really think about, and rey speedors...
