  1. OK folks, given the opportunity, would you be buying many at RRP? Managed to get these 10% off our local RRP - making them about $160US buy-in. I grabbed 8. Don't think I'll go for any more, in the unlikely case I find them. Pretty hard to know what prices will do given they can now be sold and the non-sold bulk parts may yet get given to AFOLs.

  2. Took in two rescues today. Think they are just two weeks or so. I think I have a family for them already, will have to get them off the bottle first. I have been fostering 10 years now but stopped once covid hit. Nice to be back at it.

  3. I gave Max Profit his 100th like 29,253 posts and just 100 likes... what an incredibly low post to like ratio. An undervalued hero.

  4. If you manage to grab some... SELL. It's NEVER gonna be worth as much as it is now. Insane prices.

  5. my opinion but most of the folks building this...like the ones building the high end Lambo and Chiron...buy it for the wow factors, build it...be amazed...show off to friends...then its a display piece for the next 5 to 10 years. Never touched again. That black screams of needing dust protection. It's "elegant"...few...very few LEGO sets can say that so that puts the price point into perspective. It's a mantle piece or on a piano top...its shelf space comp are not other LEGO sets but vases and art pieces.

  6. I thought a lot about this in the past and wouldn't do this if I were you. Houses are typically not set up well for this type of storage with stairs and rooms and what not. If you're at the point where you need that much additional storage, you'd be better off renting self-storage space for the short-term while looking for/working towards a longer term solution. Finding a pre-existing warehouse close to your house for a decent price is pretty difficult in most areas, but not impossible. Have you talked with commercial landlords and looked at Craigslist? I constantly look at the commercial stuff available around me and it's all wildly expensive, but have found some very affordable places off the beaten path. The idea of renting retail space for storage is not a smart one IMHO. Retail space is typically more expensive and comes with all sorts of lease covenants that pretty much require you to be, you know, a retail store. Sure, you might be able to find some desperate landlord willing to forego some of that, but then you're probably renting storage space with some amount of breakable glass on its front right next door to the internet gambling parlor, a car audio store with a "z" in its name instead of an "s," and a vape shop. The option that is a bigger pain, but makes sense if you're in this for the long haul is to find commercial land and develop it with storage that suits your needs. Trust me if you're starting to operate on a larger scale, you are going to want/need the ability to move things around on pallets using a forklift/pallet jack before long. Unless you have some very weird houses in your area, you aren't going to find that in a house. Your back will thank you.

  7. I feel like would buy at RRP as rare as these will likely be. NICE SCORE:)

  8. Not in my experience. Before they imposed the quantity limits, they were putting a soft ban on some accounts that cancelled most orders placed on the account, but that seems to have gone away with the quantity limits.

  9. There are many posts on this site where people say they get their orders cancelled for just that. It seems the bans are not permanent, but you do get taken out of the game for a bit. Generally what I gather is to buy no more than two (the most allowed) in a day. But you don't want a bunch of orders piling up in "pending" status either.

  10. Never mind, I scooped up a bunch of GWB for 24.99 a pop.

  11. Not the ones who buy at RRP for sure 😆

  12. Buy a bigger home (for living and for LEGO), and rent out your current home - your future self will thank you.

  13. Besides a pandemic, two moronic presidential candidates, nightly violent riots in major American cities, it's peachy. This recall is really stupid.

  14. If I had an acre of land I would consider building a storage unit on my property because it certainly would pay for itself. As it happens, I don't 😝

  15. Not sure if it's midnight (tonight) or a time in the morning tomorrow (like 7 AM Est.). Whenever it first opens, rest assured that the site will work well and you will be left no questions/complaints.

  16. That's interesting. Is there a trend here? All day today, garmin.com has been down - it appears to be a ransomware attack. The app and website are down, and apparently their overseas factories have been down for two days. Also, fortune.com has been down all day - I was trying to find an article my boss referenced and can't get to the article link or even the main page.

  17. It’s easy. Just go to https://comiccon2020.sched.com Panels are listed there and links to the YouTube video are listed. So no social media to worry about. Sched.com is the official schedule keeper of SDCC. So the source is authentic.

  18. And at the same time (July 1st), it was available for order on LEGO SAH. We know it was produced in Kladno WW23 and Mexico WW24. My Disney Store order shipped July 2nd. Still waiting on SAH to ship.

  19. pro and con...real estate prices are high and difficult to "get in", but once in, the appreciation builds fast and you can upgrade more easily...until you hit a relatively sweet spot...then when kids go to college and its time to down-grade...you can use the equity and flip it into a 2nd mortgage and buy-into pretty much anywhere you want to retire...collect rent at the last house to pay for your new mortgage and have a few bucks left over to subsidize retirement income. for the folks that try this in relatively affordable house markets...they are looking at equity near retirement maybe $100K-$500K...I am looking at $1m-$5M...so that's the trade off...if you can afford it..the pay-off after makes it more than worth it....I prefer relying on real estate rather than a 401K...both has risks 4shure...but I feel better funneling savings dollars into property.

  20. Appears so. Not a fan of apps being so central to function. Apps eventually expire.

  21. This is incredibly impressive. Great use of the powered up and App functions. This is a perfect representation of Lego taking the Ideas theme in the right direction from Fan Concept to Final Product. Its not on my day 1 list, but its made THE list for sure.

  22. It only appears in 4 episodes of Clone Wars, and you've already seen 3 of the episodes. It's only seen in action on Felucia, and even then it ain't much.

  23. The twin-rotor helicopter in 76162 Black Widow Helicopter Chase seems pretty obviously a CH-47 Chinook and its primary user is the military, but if it's being flown by a fictional villain in a licensed theme, I guess that's okay. So, we just need the Osprey to show up in a Bond film, DC or Marvel film, Stranger Things, or the Fast & the Furious and it'll be good to go

  25. this was the first turbo tank I built as well...cool set but eventually the flimsiness of the end wheels bothered me enough to sell and replace w/ the next version. OT: we are in the middle of Season 6 and the Turbo tank has always been just a glorified backdrop in the series...is there an actual episode coming up where they are highlighted like the other main CW vehicles?

  26. 7261 Clone Turbo Tank (non-light up Mace). This set has been a white whale of mine for a while, finally found a mostly complete one for a good price. I thought the build was great and it displays very well, I was surprised at the footprint of it overall. Looks like a centipede atat from the way the picture was taken

  27. If you filled an unoccupied house with LEGO in a “lower cost” area in Australia , some one would be busting into it before you got off the driveway to leave. 🤣

  28. Hard to believe it's been almost a year since this was selected. But LEGO has posted some teasers....

  29. I understand why LEGO cancelled the original Las Vegas arch set. It was still a couple months out, so possible to go all stop on it before it gets out there. But this set is a week away from being a shelves. Could easily get out into the wild. I get Lego's thought process on this - preserving the brand - but considering how many people are involved in creating a set, you would think someone would have caught this much sooner in the process. I personally find it embarrassing for the company. You only now realize that it's not part of your brand values?

  30. Turned a book shelf destined for the dump into a nice piece for the baby's room. (took about 2 weeks between sanding, painting and staining.)
