Celebrated that the negative feedback(the only one I have ever received) on eBay doesn't count towards my score anymore since it has been a year. Finally at 100% Feedback! The buyer wanted me to ship to a forwarding company and I said no and cancelled. He left bad feedback. I asked him and eBay to remove and they didn't. He brought my score down to 88% and it has slowly been going up as I receive more positive but now that it doesn't count. I'm at 100% HOORAY!!6 points

Lego’s continual rational for this is just mind numbingly stupid. What, the WW1 Sopwith camel and Fokker biplanes weren’t military related? Just create a line of 18+ bricks for adults who like war models and see your profits climb.4 points

You mean the money will trickle up to those of us that own investment properties, resell toys, or other businesses. In fact, my expenses are lower because I don't have to dish out $550+ a week for daycare anymore. I've paid off debt during this time that I didn't forecast to pay off until at least 2021 previously (which was an aggressive plan already). I could have invested it and probably should have, but I took the for sure win and reduction is debt always feels awesome. I hope another stimulus goes out, as everyone reading this is a benefactor whether you get a stimulus payment directly, or indirectly from it trickling up and no one should have to suffer through this when as a nation, we should have the full capability to take care of everyone.3 points

I hear what your saying and appreciate the discussion. Everyday I am amazed by the amount of people that will simply just rely on credit. Its been pushed on us to be the american way. Mean while the CEO and board of every large Credit co's laughing on their private islands. Luckily i learned a lesson early in life and now operate debt free and live within my means. I do recognize i am in the minority and unfortunately the general public is more ignorant than ever. The way Ive been seeing it, Lego keeps missing their own projected targets for the larger sets (tree house, pirates, train, hh). Dates keep getting pushed further out. That means other sets are also missing their production dates. Something has to give, and that something is supply. As long as Mexico's Covid case count remains on the rise, Lego continues to prove they are scrambling to keep up. Throw in some states arent opening school, extending the stay at home, with holidays and more birthdays. I just dont see how Lego will meet the demand. People sitting on stock and even those buying at RRP will be the supply chain come nov-dec. What a time to be alive.2 points

My logic was mostly right (I always look for 100%+, and raise the price going forward), but at the time (2012 or so) I wasn't aware of that special train aspect (trains are magic).2 points

FOMO is a thing. Paying retail is not a good advice. Just skip las vegas and get a similar good set which you can get for less than retail.2 points

Besides a pandemic, two moronic presidential candidates, nightly violent riots in major American cities, it's peachy. This recall is really stupid.1 point

Oh man, wouldn't it be nice to be able to snag a set like this. I believe this is the first time a set was cancelled so close to release date while having some sets make it out to some stores. I wonder if there will be any issues QFLL'ing it?1 point

Anyone know which retailers in the US were supposed to carry this set? I do know some managers at a few local retailers who may be willing to let me buy some if I can find out which ones they are. Also, anybody have a UPC? That would be helpful as well.1 point

I would suggest looking hard at the Razor Crest. It is a popular ship, on a popular series, that is unique. I would also suggest that The Ghost might be a good indicator of future performance.1 point

it's a great time to be a LEGO reselling hermit....who's been hoarding for the last decade for anyone social...it's crappity crap craptastic1 point

Excellent. I did that recently as well. Was able to cash out some equity - If only there were some consumer goods that I could purchase at a discount and hold onto until the holiday season to double my money1 point

I meant it more than just lego, also the craziness, supply issues, protests, pandemic, stay at home, the presidency. All of it. Guess I should have said 'A wild time to be alive.'1 point

One effect of Covid that cannot be undone will be all those UNSEALED sets....I own a large music school and watched our kids go through set after set. If you assume Covid quartatines vs investors created the price change, then it sagoes to say a ton of sealed sets have been taken out of the market1 point

I think it would be fine speaking from experience Just make sure you don't stack them of varying sizes within the boxes. Compact them like they would originally come in those lego boxes would give you the best outcome.I'm more concern of a leaky roof. I'm guessing that's what the cling film is for?👍1 point

I’ll give you the LEGO is better now but I’d much rather be back in The 90’s.1 point

Thanks picked one up (my first one of this highly desirable set)...seriously, why wait? (I know VIP pts and all that jazz...) ...if you had posted on daily deals I reckon it would be poof already1 point

I gotta wonder...will the prices that are being "set" in 2020 hold? I've gotten used to checking both pre-Covid and DUring Covid prices on Bricklink just to get a handle on "old Price" , "CV Price", and "Who Knows Price"1 point

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. It does also asks a very difficult question, when is the right time to sell? Most sets do plateu, but I've found it is very difficult to predict this, as some sets can linger on a price for months/ years, and then a new set comes out which makes some people want to buy previous sets etc, or it can go horribly wrong and lego just re-release a set. People always look back at history with rose tinted glasses, and sometimes forget that they made the right decision at the time with the available facts at hand.1 point

Confession - One of my only regrets was selling this set way too soon. I don't have many regrets (and though I made 125%+ profit on them) - this was still an absolute regret.1 point

Just to play devil's advocate: I wouldn't bet on a gangbusters holiday season. Stimulus checks have been spent and most American families will be dealing with the burden of additional child care costs due to school closures and likely job losses. I hope I'm wrong but the future is bleak.1 point

Loving the fact mine arrived,(Just Now ,From April 30th order) as the 75159 retirement rumors swirl. this one Is/Was for me though. And it's a minty one!1 point

FYI, I got a phishing email pretending to be Paypal, telling me my account is suspended. Just a PSA, if you get any suspicious email from Paypal or eBay, DO NOT click any link in the email. Instead, manually log in to your ebay or Paypal account via a browser to check any possible problem.1 point

I’d recommend getting Diner and Treehouse for your collection as those seem to retire for sure. Vestas is still a big question mark, so if you like it, get it now. Falcon and Stranger things can wait for another year. LEGO store employees and managers talk a lot about retirements, the only consistent takeaway from their statements is that they are as inconsistent as us in predicting the future.1 point

Does anyone have any tips on where to go debug the following: BrickSync is reporting ~220 lots less than BrickLink shows under "My Inventory" when I do a verify or a deep sync. I'm curious as to what those 220 lots are, and how to get BrickSync to see all lots again. I'm hoping there is a better solution to this than to go and inspect the source code - perhaps a log or a setting that will tell me why BrickSync is skipping some of my lots? And before anyone mentions it: yes, I have _another_ 110 items in 9 lots that are not mapped to BrickOwl, so my BO inventory is even smaller. I know why this is (these lots need to be added to the BO catalog) but I am looking for reasons why BS wouldn't see some of my BL lots, actually, quite a lot of them. EDIT: Figured it out, I think! I have "retain in stockroom" turned on for (almost) all my lots. 219 lots in total are currently sold out but in "retain" status. Those are showing in the summary on BrickLink, but are invisible to BrickSync. Phew. Hopefully this is useful for someone else too, learned something new!1 point

I've found that Target has 3 sizes of boxes at the disposal of their shipping department: Funko Pop size, sarcophagus size, and this one in the photo, which is for everything in between.1 point

So I grabbed the Green Grocer when it popped up as the seller had 100% feedback. I then started to research and it looked legit, but I was still skeptical. Then the Cafe Corner and Market Street appeared so I grabbed them as well. The seller's listing practices were consistent with older listings, and feedback from sales within the week, so I figured no active seller wouldn't notice if their account was compromised in a timely manner. But still I was skeptical. Things sat for two days, then I randomly received a combined shipping refund from the seller yesterday and feedback. They just arrived. I scanned all the bags and all the pieces say "LEGO". Still surprised they showed up. They will sit in a 3 day quarantine in the garage then they will be inventoried and flipped.1 point

I am finishing up the long process of closing out my storage unit and getting prepped to sell. I moved the last of the shelves upstairs around 11:00 PM last night, and today (between working the day job) I've been unboxing, sorting and shelving sets. I picked up the last two loads and swept out the unit yesterday, to that chapter is closed. I can't finish building my theater room until I clean it out, so lots of stuff going on the market soon. Oh, since non-LEGO stuff, I'll focus on the room itself. It now has walls, doors, and climate control.1 point

If they are following MX and EU (which they state they are) they will be displaying the "legal business name" and the "place of establishment address". This is why we quit selling in Mexico about a year ago. Hopefully they make an exception for the USA and only show the "display name" but I am not hopeful given that they state there will be uniformity of this policy across the USA, EU and MX. As an example that is relevant to most sellers on this board who RA lego, toys, etc see amazon seller Magnum Marketplace. The "Display Name" is Magnum Marketplace. If you visit this sellers offerings on Amazon MX they display the person's name and home address. This is why we quit on MX as brand owners were using this information to file cease and desist/lawsuits etc. I imagine once Amazon starts displaying this information competitors will be mailing fake cease and desist letters etc to knock their competitors off listings. I can see why Amazon is giving this information to buyers but unfortunately it is sellers who are going to abuse it.1 point

I went deep on these just due to the fact that the bootleggers didn't bother copying it because they were already selling a copy of 10129. Some people like to deny that bootlegs have impact on resale as "those who will buy bootlegs, wouldn't pay aftermarket prices anyways". But my concern wasn't regular bootleg buyers, it's been a worry that those who wouldn't buy a bootleg of a set at retail might be swayed from paying aftermarket prices. With no alternative available... if you want it, you pay big.1 point

I gave TROS another chance today. Still like it much better than TLJ but it kinda still sucks. Such a waste of Ford, Fisher, & Hamill. as others have stated, the last 2 films were a mess.1 point
