Just a heads up. This is the second time Target has run this sale on the Hidden Side Train ($60) in just over a month. Last time the sale lasted nearly two weeks.3 points

I feel you! My 6 mo old has helped sourcing tremendously, scrolling on the phone feeding him keeps me awake. My only problem is I forget what I order and when stuff shows up my husband asks if I order it and the answer is usually, and honestly, “I don’t know”.3 points

Finished this up last week. Its a really nice set with some interesting building techniques. I bought the set for the bookshop - my parents wrote children's books when I was a kid and it reminds me of the independent bookshops we used to visit for their presentations, but honestly I liked the house build more. I know this has received criticism for being small, etc, but the details are really nice. I built the Grand Emporium a few months ago and there is a definitely a difference in style between the earlier modulars and the trend of newer ones, but not a bad one in my opinion. I do agree that LEGO missed a great opportunity to create more clever book titles like they did with the Palace Cinema movie posters, and I feel like they could have tossed in a couple more leaf elements for the tree, but overall I think its a really great set!3 points

10277 and 40411 delivered in (what looks to be) pristine condition. 3 day COVID quarantaine starts now so I can build on Sunday... Giddy2 points

Sounds like a great investment. Going to cash out my 401k and go all-in on this set. Also the set is $5 cheaper at Walmart.2 points

Good investment? No idea. But as cool as the final product looks for these I will not be buying for personal use. I would not enjoy building these, and a fun build is the primary reason I enjoy Lego. This is essentially Lego paint by numbers. No thanks - not for me, especially not at that price point.2 points

First discount I think I've seen on the ISS.....not a huge deal....but if you're stocking up on these..... https://shop-california.legoland.com/products/international-space-station2 points

Between retiring sets, current sets, and new releases, covid should be affecting current sets the most. If a set was going to retire soon anyway TLG probably isn't going to use their currently-limited production to pump out another batch just because a previous final batch may not have made it out before the virus hit. On the other end of the spectrum, new sets are probably getting priority right now for production. So that leaves current sets kind of in limbo with limited supply available, but retiring and new sets largely unaffected. Obviously this is all just my opinion but I'm personally not changing any of my plans in regards to retiring-soon sets because of the virus.2 points

I cannot believe you picked up a HH from Tysons! I was just their on Tuesday afternoon and asked about several sets I've been waiting for...I suspect all of the HHs are gone by now. I'll have to check the other local stores.1 point

LEGO is a very conservative company and will often put worse case scenario timelines for production. This winter is going to be extremely interesting. A lot of shopping shifted to online sales over the past 10 years but this year it will be an extreme shift. The freight companies are backed up like crazy and it will only get worse. Amazon appears to be shipping items directly from LEGO warehouses given how many boxes have shown up in LEGO branded boxes. I could imagine a world where LEGO uses Amazon as a store front and logistics company to fulfill its back order of sets instead of finding freight companies to distribute them to B&M stores. Amazon is poised to be a crusher in times like this. They built the most efficient fulfillment system in existence and continue to be flexible and innovate. I would expect non traditional fulfillment and stock fluctuations.1 point

I got a similar display case from Walmart that hold 72 minifigures: https://www.walmart.com/ip/32-Pocket-Pro-Mini-Football-Helmet-Display-Case-Cabinet-Holders-Rack-w-UV-Protection-Panel/415327881 NOTE: my reflection is not included! I used Velcro strip to hold them in place using the black tiles (plates) that comes with the minifigures.1 point

Covid hasn't had as large of an impact on retirement dates as some suspect. Dates have shifted, but not in any kind of unusual way.1 point
