  1. Made my first MOC this weekend. Had to get creative with the 3 lighting kits. Two LightTailing and one BricksMax. There’s a color difference between the two.

  2. People here are very helpful. The fact that a 30% off deal is even posted amongst a group of resellers is amazing. You can't expect others to do your research, aka homework, for you and tell you what to buy.

  3. more sellers = more competition = less profit. it's that simple. the smartest and most successful sellers on this site like to stfu about what is working and what they are doing.

  8. Damn, I should have checked BN earlier today. Only got a few choiced things. The good ones have been picked clean There, a clue for you Is anyone worry about cancellation galore from B&N? They cancelled a bunch of my orders in May/April

  9. LEGO store mgr told me that large sets in USA might be iffy through the end of the year, but that was nearly a month ago when Mexico was just coming back online. They also said LEGO was going to focus on new products instead of that which is ending or continuing into next year. So they weren't even sure what product they were going to have in store past this summer. When I last spoke to them, which was a week or two ago, they were basically out of all large sets in store. (Everything >$60, except the Disney Train and Vader's Castle). Since NJ still isn't allowing people into malls, etc. they don't expect to have any new product in store for another week or two.

  10. Exactly. That's the frustrating thing with eBay. For every customer that leaves feedback I have seven others who don't. I typically leave feedback immediately when they purchase the item from me. Their part of the transaction is complete. They chose my item, clicked purchase, and paid for it. Now it's my obligation to pack it well, ship it within the timeframe posted in the listing, and upload tracking information.

  12. Finished this up last week. Its a really nice set with some interesting building techniques. I bought the set for the bookshop - my parents wrote children's books when I was a kid and it reminds me of the independent bookshops we used to visit for their presentations, but honestly I liked the house build more. I know this has received criticism for being small, etc, but the details are really nice. I built the Grand Emporium a few months ago and there is a definitely a difference in style between the earlier modulars and the trend of newer ones, but not a bad one in my opinion. I do agree that LEGO missed a great opportunity to create more clever book titles like they did with the Palace Cinema movie posters, and I feel like they could have tossed in a couple more leaf elements for the tree, but overall I think its a really great set!

  13. EU site... 350€. It's still not 300€ here on eBay here. The biggest retailer still has it for 280 with coupons applied. I thought this set would do something, glad I didn't buy it on Black Friday.

  16. Most definitely 6211. Here's a pic from Bricklink. I just looked at my 10030 and it looks like the one MM posted with the exception of the center circle. Mine has an axle hole.

  17. I really didn't need to wake up to this sort of sale today...

  18. Even if it is in store discount, the 10% member discount no longer applies to items that are already on sale. It's hard-coded in the register.

  19. Does anyone know if the 30% is reflected in store as well, or just online? Would love to add the 10% member discount to a few things. Edit: sorry, I think I answered my own question, looking on Google Shopping it looks like prices are in store as well. Carry on...

  20. People here are very helpful. The fact that a 30% off deal is even posted amongst a group of resellers is amazing. You can't expect others to do your research, aka homework, for you and tell you what to buy. Yes this site can be very helpful. Among us there is much shared, as I've tried to do myself because I've been on the receiving end of helpful information many times. I can't buy everything and I realize the crowd is small so I don't have any issues sharing. Does this make me less successful, help the competition? Of course, but this stuff is going to be bought by resellers one way or the other, so it might as well be the ones on this site. For example, check out LEGOLAND California right now, they have had a lot of restocks lately with some decent markdowns and no tax for certain states. https://shop-california.legoland.com/collections/all?sort_by=created-descending As far as the homework topic goes, we all have our own niche and usually stick to it. Is it so bad to ask for a couple pointers when a blanket sale like this goes live? Maybe it is. But now the point is moot because most everything good is gone, props to everyone who got some good deals and I hope the orders actually ship!

  22. Thanks! 6211 would make sense because I see the lizard thing from 7255 in a different picture... would be around the same time frame for those sets 2005-2006. Was just wishful thinking for 10030 I suppose.

  30. The transaction "should" be fine. With that being said, do everything correctly (as per ebay/paypal policy), as I am certain that scammers do see newbies as easier targets (a new seller is much likelier to slip up in the process, or to be tricked into situations due to their lack of experience). And for any other would be sellers - I would strongly suggest not starting the selling game with $500 sets.

  31. Send it to the address provided by eBay (well packed) and upload the tracking number to eBay/PayPal. After that you are good to go and protected. I don’t know why everyone freaks out about 0 feedback buyers. Everybody starts at 0. I just finally cracked 1000 positive feedbacks but it’s taken me 15 years to get there. I’ve had several thousand transactions on eBay and many 0 feedback buyers. I’ve never had an issue with any of them. I agree with the previous post. Why is an expensive set like the Ewok Village your first eBay sale? I’d test the waters and get used to the process first with some less desirable sets / items, but I guess that’s just me.

  32. International shipping is a mess. I sold an expensive batch of Starwars tiles to the Netherlands at the end of Feb which according to USPS tracking is still sitting in Chicago (since March 1st). Not a peep from the buyer though. I have a shipment to the UK that finally, after 2 months was received by the buyer (we were in contact via BL messages) but still shows as en route. And another shipment to the Netherlands just got delivered (and marked as delivered) after being stuck in Chicago for 6 weeks. It’s a crapshoot.

  38. So, part of the challenge when you work intermittently on a build, you might make a mistake. Yesterday I found out I was one peg over too far in the Porsche build, having to teardown and rebuild the gearing. Here is an image. I didn't mind it as much though, I had sorted the parts previously since this was a used set. So far, the only thing I am missing is the secondary sticker showing the track layout. Id really like that, but otherwise, this build IS very awesome and I am glad I purchased it. Next will be to get the Bugatti and then the Lambo. I might even have to rebuild my 42000 Set from storage. Ive really been on a Technic kick lately.

  41. LEGO has in a sense become a luxury brand. I find them similar to how my wife’s purse makers behave. They have their regular purses that get reissued from time to time like fire and police sets, but get their diehards and diehard wannabes excited with limited editions that they purposefully issue in limited quantities that they know will sell out because they want to generate buzz and demand. Plus they have their truly expensive bags, the UCS of the line, which separate the elite from the plebs. They tolerate resellers (but not counterfeiters) because they spread brand value and mystique.
