The double entries problem isn't just with LEGO, either. Video games are absolutely plagued with that garbage and it's not uncommon to see 5-6 listings for the same game. To make it worse, a fair amount of products I send in will come up as the fake/bad listings even when I scan the UPC. I've seen listings that Amazon themselves sell on that get pushed behind fake listings with some homemade picture and a bad description. It has really gone downhill in the past 2-3 years or so. Between all the Renewed listings popping up, people making bad listings to get around approvals/restrictions, and Amazon seemingly losing control of their own ability to check in shipments (went six years without a single lost item, then suddenly Amazon loses $8k in LEGO across four consecutive shipments so far this year and refuses to reimburse, claiming they received 40-50 pound oversize boxes that had nothing but really, really heavy air in them). And even as a buyer things have become a pain in the ass because of all the sellers with counterfeit/used-as-new/etc products. Same as above, I've been shopping on Amazon for almost 15 years and never once had to return an item for being expired or used or whatever. So far this year I've had to return 7 different things (some expired food, a half-used tub of pomade, and even some bootleg sticks of RAM). The worst part is that a few of those came from very large sellers; the kind with tens of thousands of reviews but barely above a 90% rating. It's frustrating knowing that if I dropped that low or sold expired food or whatever my account would be closed immediately, but these other sellers get special treatment because of their sales volume. Sorry for the rant. I usually don't post much on here but this topic has really hit home lately. Also the Seller Central app search is absolutely terrible lately as well. You can search for something very specific like "lego #####" and get no results (or a completely irrelevant/bad result) for a product with a 1,000 sales rank, but the same search pulls it up just fine in the Amazon shopping app.4 points

24 LB lot purchased around Christmas time $200 incl shipping, purchased with Ebay GCs (which I obtained for free). So $0 invested for the lot. Each set required a few pieces to finish them off and there were no minifigures. At least half of the sets had instructions in very good condition. I found minifigures and finished the first list of sets. I'm still debating what to do with 7662, which is an awesome set. Most of the others I've already sold during the Coronavirus. Even with Brick Linking the a few missing pieces and all the minifigures, I have still made a nice profit. 7656 – Gen. Grievous Starfighter 7662 – Trade Federation MTT 7674 – V-19 Torrent 7675 – AT-TE 7676 – Rep. Attack Gunship 7748 – Corp. Alliance Droid Tank 7869 – Battle for Geonosis 7915 – V-Wing 8017 – Darth Vader’s Tie Fighter 8018 – Armored Assault Tank (AAT) 8019 – Rep. Attack Shuttle 8039 – Venator-Class Rep. Attack Cruiser 8086 – Droid Tri-Fighter 8089 – Hoth Wampa Cave (minus speeder) Parts but very incomplete (33% or less): 7657 – AT-ST 7658 – Y-Wing 7661 – Jedi Starfighter w/ Hyperdrive Booster Ring 7666 – Hoth Echo Base 7673 – Magna Guard Starfigter 8037 – Anakin’s Y-Wing 8128 – Cad Bane’s Speeder I'm not sure if I'll worry about completing these or not. Maybe if I find another large lot.3 points

eBay: $250 21309 Saturn V Rocket 21321 International Space Station 10266 Lunar Lander 21312 Women of NASA 2x LEGO City 30365 Satellites Grabbed this lot on eBay after selling a sealed 21309 for $250 cash the day before. A lateral move in funds, but freed up a lot of sealed sets to be sold that I was saving as my copy. I can't remember the last New set I actually built. Seems like I always end up with a used set under RRP, then sell my copy of the sealed set for bananas prices after the price spikes.3 points

It’s retiring, it’s relatively inexpensive for resale (should get $35-$45 during holiday) so I bought a couple2 points

I had good luck selling these $20MSRP sets like this that you buy for $16. During the holidays I usually get $30-35 cash for them on Facebook marketplace. So, that's a nice little profit for sitting on them for 5-6 months.2 points

I get you...but I meant so many LEGO sets (other than BHz)...can't collect them all. So far for me Star Wars, Vehicles, and Modulars, and HP, Fairground sets, now pirate ships and trains.2 points

Have you ever been on Nextdoor? Talk about a toxic environment.2 points

Wife and kids convinced me to take a slight detour to the LEGO store yesterday just to "look".....well....ended up being a $600+ venture as we walked out with a Lambo Sian and a T-Rex Rampage. Sian came in a shipper box so very well protected...BUT...it has the stickers as well. Kinda bummed, but it is for personal build, so not a huge deal.2 points

So, part of the challenge when you work intermittently on a build, you might make a mistake. Yesterday I found out I was one peg over too far in the Porsche build, having to teardown and rebuild the gearing. Here is an image. I didn't mind it as much though, I had sorted the parts previously since this was a used set. So far, the only thing I am missing is the secondary sticker showing the track layout. Id really like that, but otherwise, this build IS very awesome and I am glad I purchased it. Next will be to get the Bugatti and then the Lambo. I might even have to rebuild my 42000 Set from storage. Ive really been on a Technic kick lately.2 points

I’ve built a bit over the last couple of weeks, so I’ll share a couple at a time: CELEB2017-1: Detention Block Rescue BrickLinked 8484 Ultimate Build Lightning McQueen Bought used on CL I really liked both of these sets. Fun to put together and fun to have on display.2 points

U.S. Income Reporting & Tax Identity Collection FAQ Due to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations, U.S. third-party settlement organizations and payment processors, including Amazon, are required to file Form 1099-K for U.S. taxpayer sellers who meet the following thresholds in a calendar year: More than $20,000 in unadjusted gross sales, and More than 200 transactions. If you do not meet both of these thresholds, you will not receive an IRS Form 1099-K.1 point

Sometimes I have to wonder if these people are so used to anonymity of Twitter. Nextdoor is completely different. I know where they live and most of the time, their faces1 point

Mine started arriving this morning... All in boxes. All still damaged... all with multiple stickers. They were damaged before being packed/shipped. At 73% off I'm not going to complain... much.1 point

What will really get you is when you discover that one of them used to be an executive at Nextdoor, promoting neighborliness. Not sure I would want to live on that block.1 point

Just a warning on Hut group dealings: IWOOT (US and UK) and ZAVVI I am getting delivery on items I thought I cancelled. There is no customer service number to call. The email system takes 1 week for a response. Any return not directly due to fault of theirs require buyer to pay for return shipping (obviously the ones from IWOOT UK ain't EVER going back). The saving grace is that the condition of the boxes have been very good (no complaints) after over a dozen orders from this group so since I always buy either sale or RRP of popular sets, I can always recoup without dealing w/ a return. Just don't expect any kind of actual customer service...this group is cranking out a lot of (decent) deals so just wanted to throw this up there.1 point

Which will be promptly ignored by both the sales venue and the payment processor. There is no way to prove that you didn't unpack it after, ask for the package back, etc. With sales there is always the risk of being screwed. But every buyer starts with 0 feedback, and the vast majority aren't scammers. A buyer who looks to have just registered may be a guest account.1 point

7019 Vikings Fafnir Dragon Fortress This set had been on my list for eons, and I finally found a decently priced one a few weeks ago. Missing a few pieces, nearly complete. Build was pretty basic, tons of stacking, but the overall product looks great, especially on the castle shelf. Overall, I really like it. I generally like bigger sets that don't use tons of tiny pieces, and this one has a certain classic feel to it. Can't believe this thing was a cool 70 bucks at retail, considering the size, features, and dragon. Oh yeah, and the box flips1 point

I finally got around to putting this together. I love all those engines on the back and the odd proportions of the front. The little butter-yellow pieces are a little confusing to me but guessing they are there to add a little variation?1 point

Not so much as build, and not even rebuild, but move. I build the GE ages ago, and it’s been in display forever. I’ve wanted to move it to a MILS plate forever. I recently built the PC and began with that on a MILS plate for a base. So getting the GE on that as a base means I can display them together.1 point

Finished up two more pirate ships and now I'll take a break, and maybe take them apart and pack them back up again. (Although the flagship still calls to be rebuilt first) The OG Black Seas Barracuda is still awesome, even if it shows its age in a couple of spots. The Minifigure selection is great and the sails are in excellent condition. I'll have to replace a couple of pieces due to clasps breaking bit nothing too serious and much better quality than newer sets. The yellow really pops on this one. Black Pearl is a favourite of mine because of how sleek it looks in all black, but it's a major pain to dust.1 point

I used high-strength peroxide on some 1980s Town sets two years ago, and I'm sorry to say that while the white bricks looked fine for about 6 months, the yellowing has since returned. I did leave the parts in the summer sun for 2 days; either that wasn't enough time or this fix is a temporary one. I wouldn't feel comfortable selling whitened bricks on the secondary market, since Cinderella's carriage turns back into a pumpkin before too long.1 point
