  1. Nothing else to buy, fear of missing out, boredom, stupidity. Put me in the 'all of the above' category.

  2. I got in on that 70% off sale on Frozen sets at Justice yesterday. I have several shipment notifications already. The bad thing is, I told my wife about the 60% off already marked down clearance sale, so she proceeded to spend over $200 on outfits for my daughter last night.

  3. I give my Jyn and Rey and Chirru out as gifts to my kids’ friends... that I don’t care for much. “Oh it’s Timmy’s birthday? No, not that one. Give him this one.”

  5. Which will be promptly ignored by both the sales venue and the payment processor. There is no way to prove that you didn't unpack it after, ask for the package back, etc. With sales there is always the risk of being screwed. But every buyer starts with 0 feedback, and the vast majority aren't scammers. A buyer who looks to have just registered may be a guest account.

  6. The only thing more numerous than LEGO sets in my basement are boxes of old kids clothes. I told her if things get tight we could open up an orphanage. Although we might have kids leaving their parents instead of the other way around.

  9. My concern with selling those on amazon is that it only takes a idiot or two to claim fake and poof goes my account . @BrickLegacy probably have the same concern I’m told .

  10. I'm really happy the typewriter was one of the winners. I personally dont think any IP sets should win in the ideas line, as to me it should be about great ingenuity and lego designs, rather than mediocre builds that noone would really notice of the IP sign or minifigs were there. But I guess if it was that way all of the ideas sets would be poor sellers.

  13. but if the buyer is not typically home...some back and forth...missed pick-up windows...sounds like a chance the package returns undeliverable w/ everyone angry. also the current CV stuff seems to result in delivery persons disregarding the signature requirement to avoid unnecessary personal contact If one goes that route, might be worth messaging the buyer to see if he/she available to sign for packages. Just opening the lines of communication gives me some assurances as scammers try to avoid communication...but even this can be a challenge for a new ebayer...I recently sold a $350 set to a newb buyer and she couldn't figure out how to message me for a few days. It all worked out but I was really nervous not hearing back right away.

  14. zero feedback buyer is normal, don't be freaked out. It depends on what thing goes wrong. If the package is missing during the shipment, no way ebay and pp will side you. If the package is delivered, but buyer files a NAD case, more than likely you will lose. Check the thread $20 suggested for a better understanding towards what you may encounter.

  15. And pay for signature confirmation. I do sig confirmation on any sales over $200. Never had a problem.

  23. They're an internet analyst. Duh. I highly doubt anything unique. You have a better chance of Lego going belly up and this set never being made again vs an unexpected short run of this set vs others.

  24. I had bought a bunch of these LEGO display cases the last few years: Wanting something a little nicer that also held more, I saw a lot of custom stuff online, but they can get awfully pricey. What I found aren't acrylic, so I apologize for going semi off-topic. Thought it might be helpful for anyone wondering about these. I ran across these cases at Michael's that were cheaper than the LEGO ones above (almost always on sale <$30): https://www.michaels.com/studio-decor-keepsake-display-case/10227067.html (Not my picture) I do miss being able to see minifigs better in cases that were clear on all sides, but these do look more sleek/professional overall. The shelves are set in place (can't remove/adjust), and they're deep enough that you can double up a back row. I can now display about 100 minifigs in the space of two of the LEGO ones in the first pic that held 16 each. If you do that though, it can be a bit cluttered:

  25. So is the thinking that it would be better to take the stickers off? I haven't had any issues selling EU sets in Amazon before.

  28. - might not be a very popular choice.. but you should get a hairdryer, blow a stream of hot air at these seals for like 5 mins, then carefully with '- preferably a tweezer) - unpeel one end. Take some transparent glue, glue the unpeeled seal, stick to the box and put some slight weight on it to attach. Nobody would see a difference AS FOR THE GLUE - TEST IT FIRST!! - on some ordinary stuff... whether it leaves some marks or not at the tested box. Usually the haiirdryer at full speed for 5 mins does the trick (esp. at the thumbs-press seals at low-cost LEGO sets)...the buyer will never tell that it was actualy opened before.

  29. prices for display cases are ridiculous...I just want to see my builds and keep dust off the most cost effective option I found were glass fish tanks ($10) and the occasional MIchaels deal for football displays. I've been meaning to find slabs of acrylic that I can just mount as doors to an IKEA book shelf. I figure the sneeze guards are so high in demand now that the acrylic industry as a whole may start mass producing slabs for cheap.

  30. Not sure if anybody else cares but Amazon has been slapping stickers with the # pieces on the Harry Potter sets. Are they bringing them across the pond to sell over here? Do you think it will affect the price?

  31. I got the Light My Bricks large display cases and they are phenomenal! Well built with cool lighting and fit way more figures then stated. Not from the US though and sold out instantly.
